Governor Palin should articulate her position on separation of church and state and the Establishment Clause. During the campaign home stretch she should not be allowed to hide from her official remarks quoted in the ADN.com news report, State paid for trip when Palin told students to pray for pipeline, especially these:

“What I need to do is strike a deal with you guys as you go out throughout Alaska — I can do my part in doing things like working really, really hard to get a natural gas pipeline.” Palin said. “Pray about that also. I think God’s will has to be done, in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that. But I can do my job there, in developing our natural resources, and doing things like getting the roads paved, making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded.

“But really, all of that stuff doesn’t do any good if the people of Alaska’s hearts isn’t right with God. And that’s going to be your job,” she said. “As I’m doing my job, let’s strike this deal. Your job is going to be: to be out there, reaching the people, (the) hurting people throughout Alaska, and we can work together to make sure God’s will be done here.”

The Republican effort to make critics come out as being for or against faith, for or against spreading the gospel (evangelizing), for or against God and country, should be anticipated and countered.

Thank you for bringing this up. I sometimes feel desperate reading the polls. Then I remember they’re bullshit. Then I think it’s a setup for stealing the next election. Correction, then I KNOW they’re setting us up to steal the next election. How has anything magically changed in the Diebold machines?
Lily Tomlin was right.
” No matter how cynical I get, it’s never enough to keep up.”
But, what choice do we have except to stay informed and dedicated to the Constitution, Rule of Law and our soldiers who so desperately need us to stay focused. As do the Iraqi’s suffering under the horror our tax dollars are perpetuating on their destroyed lives.
It’s just so big.
Then I think,” Fuck you,Cheney,Addington,Murdoch,Moonies et.al,you don’t get to win without a fight!”

You are quite welcome. In the end, counting ECV (Electoral College Votes) is actually more important than just votes anyway. As we saw in 2000, you can win the popular vote and lose the ECV.

In this case - Obama is far ahead in locked ECV and leaning ECV. He is leading in Ohio, New Hampshire, Virginia and Montana - way more votes than he needs to win. And his trend lines are going up in all those states as well.

So…try not to worry so much - but keep working - the bigger the blow-out the better. We need to destroy the neo-con brand.

http://www.pollster.com/polls/.....ge-mvo.php

I urge all who are concerned about the election to watch polls on the link above. This is a long-term-trends poll compilation. It is much more reliable than the ‘daily tracking polls’ favored by the media.

Even though the daily tracking polls show McCain with a ‘bump’ - the trendlines are in Obama’s favor. He already has 231 ‘locked’ electoral college votes and another 29 ‘leaning’ giving him 260 of the 272 he needs to win. There are 99 toss-up votes - and Obama is leading in most of those states. His trend lines in most individual states are going up, while McCain’s are going down in the states he is leading in. There are a bunch of states in the tossup column that have not had regular polls - Montana being one of them. It is a traditionally ‘red’ state but the two polls that have been taken have Obama ahead by quite a large margin.

(I don’t get how Montana is a ‘red’ state with a Dem governor, two Dem US Senators, and one house of the legislature controlled by Dems, but oh well.)

Anyway - the people on pollster.com did an article recently about all these daily tracking polls and how relevant they are to who is ahead. The completely non-partisan polling organizations like Pew Research Center and Quinnipiac University all project Obama winning by a huge margin. The next category was partisan polls including one run by non other than Karl Rove. They also predicted that Obama would win - by a smaller margin but still a substantial one. Including Karl Rove’s poll.

Then there was the FCM polling (Gallup, etc) They all were saying it was neck and neck or McCain was slightly ahead or whatever.

The FCM NEEDS the race to be really close or they would have nothing to flap their yaps about. They have to have these big discussions about whether Obama has a ‘problem’ with this demographic group or other. They have more endless discussions about why Obama is not ‘connecting’ with voters, or ‘making the case’ or whatever. Fills up time, creates all this furor, people tune in because they are anxious about the results to see what’s happening today.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was to think positive, keep working, but do not believe the crap the FCM is feeding you about the polls and who is or is not ahead at the moment.
