The U.S. has endured 8 years of scandals and corruption with hardly anyone being held accountable (with the exception of Abramhoff and Duke Cunningham). Americans have become so inured that they just shrug their collective shoulders. Don’t count on the “wheels of justice” to give the Republicans what they so richly deserve. I was really surprised by the SurveyUSA poll, but taken with the results for the top of the ticket in MO from the same poll, I’d wager that there was an oversampling of R’s in the poll. Hopefully this will motivate the Dems to come out in November, and to GOTV between now and then. I have no idea what’s happening anywhere else in the country, but just where I work (where I’m notorious as either the “tame Democrat” or, my preference, “the office crypto-Commie”) I now have 3 or 4 people relying on me for their political education. Two (both black women) had not been registered to vote until Obama came onto the scene. Both of them came to me worried about what they had heard Caribou Barbie say about Obama. They simply <strong>couldn’t</strong> grasp the concept that people could get up in front of God, the Convention, and 20 million people and lie their asses off. Now they know. They’ve been given the fact checks on McCaint’s speech too. Now that they’re safely wrangled up ticket I’ll start on exposing the down-ticket liars.
