My mother is 77. She is a long time feminist. She comes as she says from at least 5 generations of working women.
She was a nurse and had to endure the constant restart at the bottom when she went back to work. she worked through much of much childhood in the 60s and I had 2 older and 3 younger siblings.

But you know what frosted her cookies tonight in the Palin bio (aside from all the other things about Palin that drive her round the twist)?
It was when they said she fired the household staff of the governor’s mansion. Like it was a good thing.
”Who the hell cleaned the place?” she asked. ”Did she make the kids do it or are they trying to say that she looked after that too?”

He is apologizing to his viewers for his network having shown it.

wow. That, by itself, could be possibly damaging to Olbermann. Brave man.

And it won’t matter until the press points out once and for all that it happened under W’s watch. And until the people know about all of the warnings. And that they know how everything had become so politicized that neither the CIA nor the FBI could do their jobs. It’s now time. Past time.

Keith Olbermann is now calling the RNC out for that obscenity. He is apologizing to his viewers for his network having shown it.

MSNBC: the Republican National Convention is showing a “9/11 Video Tribute.” That is obscene. The only thing 9/11 has to do with politics (except for being Rudy Guiliani’s mantra) is that Bush/Cheney, and now the RNC, chose to exploit it for political gain. This is wrong. The video turns into a political commercial.

I can speak to the “sisterhood” as of 1970 in my recollection. As I remember it, women had given up on the flirty, sexy, I’ll play dumb crapola. We expected accountability on the part of women. Nobody at that time (thanks Gloria) expected women should get a job just because of gender. At the same time, we expected equal pay for equal work.

After watching McCane checking out Palin’s rear end upon introducing her to the nation, and himself, I feel like nothing has changed if he is elected. That was absolutely revolting.

And now, for them to put her on the stage with the nerve to diss Obama, without allowing her to meet with the press (poor damsel), I feel sick. Have women learned nothing in the last 40 years?

I hope so, and I hope Obama wins in a landslide like America has never seen before.
