And finally, my very own Governor Goodhair delivered these totally non-partisan remarks in video for the wingers at the convention (HuffPo has video).

“You’re seeing Republican governors in Republican states doing a fabulous job of taking care of the citizens,” Perry said. “That’s what we do.”

— Blue Texan

Ironic given it was Minneapolis where a bridge fell because Republicans REFUSED to fix it.

You mean, Republicans don’t take care of people? What part of outsourcing and off-shoring jobs with tax breaks for Multinational Robber Barons does not take care of people?

Republicans say it’s Free Enterprise for some people to lose their homes (mortgage crisis) and retirement funds (1980s debacles and Enron) and everyday cash (high gasoline prices).

Got money?

Oh, honey, there’s other dimensions there too.
It’s very new agey weirdy, but I’m looking at what the author is proposing with an eye to learning Something.
Don’t know why I thought of you, but I did. What can I say?
No way your getting lost is more than my getting lost. Ha!
I’m a poor little sheep
That has gone astray…
bah, bah, bah.
What did the doc say about your eyes, btw? good news?

Disasters are always ameliorated or exacerbated by politics. Because of Katrina the Republicans HAD TO look interested and involved in a “mirror-image” situation on the eve of McCain’s coronation as the GOP nominee. But they utterly failed to demonstrate interest when it failed to serve their short term political interests. Thus the structural preparations for a hurricane in NO and the emergency relief by FEMA were run by incompetant cronies and a disnterested WH.

And the standard Republican mantra afterwards was “This is a local problem. The Federal Government should NOT be involved. It’s Nagin’s and Blanco’s fault.”

FACT: The Federal government almost completely funded the reconstruction after the 1964 Alaska Earthquake and provided hundreds of millions more to develop studies on how to ameliorate the effects of earthquakes. Does Palin think that States should not receive Federal assistance in disasters? That it is simply a “local matter”?

Well, that looks like the prez may be attempting a G chord, but his fingers are at the wrong frets. No wonder the lady is crying. She’s prolly got more than one reason.

RNC delegate: We already do a lot for the people of New Orleans…

Oh, the Humor! Oh the Humanity! Oh the Hubris! of these people.

A suggestion: Never stand too close to these people at anytime, when lightning strikes, it might get you ALL.

Reminds me of that old Steve Martin line: “Yeah, I’ve been doing some charity work…helping young mothers get their start…(audience groans)….WHAT?!”

I think the funniest thing is that Palin supports AIP who want Alaska to become its own country.

So much for “Country First”…McCain chooses someone who doesn’t even want to remain a citizen of the United States of America…

Jeebus.

Much appreciation for the education (non-francophone), It fitted

The implication in this use of words is that Mccain CAN and DID stop the storm.

I shall treasure (and remember) Excrément henceforth ;-)
