Also, there is another dominionist thread of theological opinion (I hesitate to honour it as thought) which takes liberties with the passages in the Genesis accounts of Mankind supposedly having received a charge to have dominion over all of the earth and everything therein.

Lynn White, the distinguished mediævalist at Santa Barbara, and John Passmore, the Australian philosopher, and also myself, have all criticised this line of thinking (if one can call this thinking) as leading to our crisis of environment, as it opens the way to thinking of Earth as a huge strip mine for exploitation. Recall James Watt opining that conservation was batty inasmuch as the End Times were at hand and conserved resources would all be wasted then. Shades of the present-day rapture nutters!

Then come back and post yer comments If McPain is elected this woman will be the laughingstosk of the US. McPain will probably have a heart attack while in office. Call your local PBS station and inform them you will no longer pledge and you are encouraging your family, friends and colleagues to do the same. If public donations begin to dry up then they might get the message that the American public is sick and tired of their abysmal political coverage and the kid gloves approach they have concerning Republican corruption and hypocrisy.

And whilst you are at it, ring NPR and tell them likewise, the tawdry whores!
