Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Kristof, Friedman and Rich today. MoDo titled her <strike>column</strike> fantasy piece “Vice in Go-Go Boots?” She asks us to imagine her delight when the hokey chick flick came out on the campaign trail, a Cinderella story so preposterous it’s hard to believe it’s not premiering on Lifetime. Mr. Kristof, in “Tortured But Not Silenced,” says America needs to stand behind Dr. Halima Bashir, a young Darfuri woman whom the Sudanese authorities have tried to silence by beatings and gang-rape. Mr. Friedman, in a “Postcard From South China,” says the Communist Party in China is trying to break the old mold without breaking its hold by searching for ways to make the economy greener and smarter. Mr. Rich’s column is titled “Obama Outwits the Bloviators.” He says the disconnect between the reality of this campaign and how it is perceived and presented by the mainstream media is now a major part of the year’s story.

http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/

The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got eggs Benedict this morning, or eggs Florentine for the vegetarians (or for people like me, who just like eggs Florentine better…) I’m girding my loins preparing for That Other Convention tomorrow, but I feel like a little kid… “Mom, do I have to?” Have a good day.

Here’s a great HD quality video of Sarah Palin, in heels, drinking coffee - purportedly seven months pregnant:

http://alaskapodshow.com/index.....au-alaska/

Watch the whole thing and see if you can spot the pregnant woman. Perhaps she was selected over Lieberman for the Israeli flag affixed to her office window (see image on landing page).

The baby was her daughters.

Sounds like an excellent wedding, reminds me of my mom and step dad’s wedding at the lip of Halemaumau crater in HVNP…! I’m glad I avoided much of the wedding prep myself, Justice of the Peace style wedding! Of course, my wife of 17 going on 18 years wants the whole shebang we missed for a renewal of our vows at 20…!

Finally got the reception place and food under contract.
Wedding is planned for Magic Island, between a coupla palm trees, with Diamond Head in the background, in the late afternoon. Right after the wedding, we plan a few sunset-on-the-beach pictures, with the sun setting over the open ocean.

Most of my fiancee’s family from the Left Coast will be here, but my family back in the Midwest will mostly be tied up with my Mother’s 90th birthday celebration. My youngest bro is planning to come, along with the wife of my middle bro, who is a UCC minister.

I think the main value of a wedding is that if your relationship can survive the process of planning a wedding, the marriage has a chance to be successful. We are sometimes being tested (grin).

Of course, you’re invited!

It’s going to be a long night of video production, but I hope they blast this stuff to every outlet.
This is the most sickening thing I have seen, of all the affronts.
Where did we go?

We’ve seen it coming, but it is still unbelieveable when it actually arrives. The question now is what the mainstream media will do with the material that Jane, Glenn and the others have assembled? The claim has been that bloggers don’t dig but simply opinionate on the backs of the “real reporters” in the MSM. Well this time, but the Internet media was on the spot — Jane with her flip cam — as things were taking place and immediately afterward. Will the MSM pretend that none of this ever happened?

LM, ya might want to take a gander at this too…

Surprise? First Two National Polls Find Palin Gains LESS Support from Women

NEW YORK The first national polls on John McCain’s pick of Sarah Palin yesterday came out today from Rasmussen and Gallup — and contrary to what the GOP probably hoped, she scored less well with women than men.

Here’s a finding from Gallup: Among Democratic women — including those who may be disappointed that Hillary Clinton did not win the Democratic nomination — 9% say Palin makes them more likely to support McCain, 15% less likely… …Gallup is now out with its own initial poll. It also shows women with a slightly less favorable view of Palin. An excerpt from USA Today:

There is wide uncertainty about whether she’s qualified to be president. In the poll, taken Friday, 39% say she is ready to serve as president if needed, 33% say she isn’t and 29% have no opinion.

That’s the lowest vote of confidence in a running mate since the elder George Bush chose then-Indiana senator Dan Quayle to join his ticket in 1988. In comparison, Delaware Sen. Joe Biden was seen as qualified by 57%-18% after Democrat Barack Obama chose him as a running mate last week…..

Dontcha just love it…? ;-)
