Uhmmm…Recalling Nazi concentration camps is disturbing. The smell of burning bodies is, well, ICKY. You created the image (or smellage). I just responded to it.

bush, who is a lifetime member of NACN-the New American Century Neocon-movement has done his part, as have the other parts of NACN, Big Energy, Big Arms, Big Media and Big Jesus, to subvert the US Govt. The oligarchs who control NACN have managed, with the willing assistance of the republician party and the current administration, to undermine the basic functions of govt. The VP, IMHO, is one of the architects of this movement to turn the presidentcy into a fascist oligarchy. By denigrating the congress and taking away much of its power with the willing help of the republician majority (2000-2006) they have managed to subvert the powers of govt into assisting the NACN group in its world view of american military dominance made thru invading countries that have natural resources that NACN wants to gain control of. The Iraq invasion has shown the weakness of this group as Iraq is now moving out from under the american thumb. al-Maliki has just signed an agreement with China-rather than with the Big Oil companies that the US brought into Iraq-Last year the Iraq govt rejected a deal pushed hard by the US to pretty much give Big Oil(Exon-Mobil,Shell,BP,Total and Chevron-only 1 of these companies is american based)complete control of Iraq’s oil and give Iraq in return a mere pittance. Iraq has gone further, they demand that the US withdraw by NLT 2011 and also give the Iraq govt the ability to detain, arrest and try american soldiers who violate Iraqi laws. Now still another puppet is trying to break the NACN strings. Afghanistan/american relations are not governed currently by anything other than a 4 page memo that gives the US and NATO all the power that they want. The Afghan president Hamid Karzai, wants the US to either agree to a SOFA-status of forces agreement- or leave. So it begins. What is old-see american and USMC history late 1800’s and early 1900’s in Latin american and the Caribbean basin-is new again. The oligarchs fell in the early 20th century thru excess and hubris, now they want to return.

Since that guy in prison is already f*cked, perhaps we could talk him into sending a letter to Obama with some baby powder in it to see if THAT gets the same treatment as the letters to McInsane.

Would not Troy Eid’s head explode while trying to justify bringing the hammer down hard on such a stunt done by a black man against an insane, fascistic white crazy man (that would be McInsane) while at the same time pooh-poohing the same exact stunt by a black man (no less) against Obama?

Of course, Troy and his ilk would instead let it slide but use it as a symbol of how “even black America isn’t behind Obama!” It’s lose-lose no matter what.

That’s disturbing and icky.

I was not going to reply but reconsidered.

Yes it is disturbing and ICKY. It was intended so. It was intended to recall history. A specific era in history. When a certain ideology gained control of a government. The first item on the agenda was to corrupt the judicial system and bend the system to the support of the ideology. Fascist-Nazi Germany did this well, fascist being merging state and corporate direction of government, Nazi was the political party controlling government. The law courts sanctified and executed Nazi political laws alien to traditional law. The concentration/extermination/labor camps were peopled with the victims of the courts. With the courts precedence, all barriers were removed from directly committing designated persons to the camps without the purview of law.

YES the results were ICKY. Many of those responsible were either imprisoned or forfeited their lives for their part of this crime.

I would have thought the mere suggestion would have illuminated the danger present when Law is perverted to ideological purpose. Apparently not, a clear lesson of history is lost, and that too is disturbing and ICKY. What the USA of Colorado just did is disturbing and ICKY, but the nattering nabobs natter on, no investment is taken with the issue.

Maybe Arthur Siber is correct, and there is no recourse to the stupid. I should have never had to write this.

that is if you want to read really disturbing and ICKY.

dave, may i just take a moment to reiterate, you are the best writer in blogtopia and yes, i coined that phrase.

your writing is concise, clear, well-structured and it takes the reader exactly down the road from point to point, creating a well-formulated argument.

i wish that other writers who believe in not using one word when ten will do (and i’m not mentioning glenn greenwald by name here) would take a page out of your style sheet.

thanks for your continued work.

Just a few minutes ago, Representative Waters was on MSNBC asserting that she has some questions about home ownership, management of the banks and the financial services industry, and predatory lending practices. Well, here’s the thing, whenever Congress allows the Chief Executive to lead them around by the nose, to not fight for their right to oversee what the Chief Executive is doing, this is the result. I’m sick and tired of Congress running around acting like the injured party when they capitulated. They <strike>donated</strike> surrendered their rights and mine to the point that they are now asking why! The nerve! The Congress approved the appointments to public office, the Congress failed to enforce their own subpoenas, the Congress failed to impeach those responsible for the politicization of the DOJ or the mishandling and downright corruption of the intelligence data that led us to a war that most now see as a mistake. And don’t even get me started on FISA! Now it appears they want to know what the new administration will do to solve the problems. Here’s what I think: they want a solution, they should look in the mirror. They want fixes for all these problems, they should roll up their sleeves. They are the designers of the laws; they are the originators of the laws. Quit relying on orders from upstairs. There is no upstairs in this government, GWB notwithstanding! Congressmen and congresswomen are going to be key players in the act of taking back our country. Time to get back to being legislators rather than apologists.

As to this post, excellent job, David. Oddly enough the above relates to this comment through the common bond of corruption of the DOJ. This will allow for all sorts of political dirty, despicable tricks like you saw with Gov. Seligman, and also including voter fraud and voter suppression. It was the Congress’ job to oversee this administration and not take no as an answer from the current occupants of the WH. But when you take all your tools off the table, laugh at the one Senator to suggest censure and otherwise abdicate your responsibility, you have to expect things to run amok.
