I think they (Dem leadership) are afraid of alienating Lieberman. Which may explain the agitated response.

Why are the Dem leaders afraid of alienating him when Lieberman has done enough to alienate Dem voters? Why the caution?

Great journalism!

Durbin’s JOB is to count votes and ensure passage of Democratic legislation in the US Senate. If he can’t give you any examples of how Joe Lieberman has helped them pass legislation, there are none.

Any chance for another link . . . this one doesn’t work for me. I truly want to forward this to several of the (general) healthcare blogs, as well as a couple of T1 diabetes sites. T1 diabetics have longed for change in this venue, and have felt any progress toward a cure has been thwarted. As they eagerly discuss how a proliferation of endorsed stem-cell research may move them forward, they will be outraged to see just a blatant, in-your-face platform.

they didn’t want anybody knowing that they didn’t have an inside rap with god after all, who didn’t hear/answer their prayers. forecast=no rain.

cracks me up that we’re supposed to ‘receive’ god’s blessings or trials, but they can ‘tell god what to do’……god will do what WE WANT if we pray hard enough….man, oh, man, i’ll leave it at that…..

THANKS perris, i was watching that yesterday, and was fascinated by the guy who kept wanting to keep therapeutic research in the amendment……missed the end of it cuz i switched to hear a speech….

heard it dismissed for further discussion, but didn’t hear how it ended….wow.

i watched a lot of it this week, was very interesting…..

This has become a pattern when dirty bloggers try to interview Those Who Know Better. Remember the Sen. Boxer/CTBob clip? That also involved a “liberal” senator and their completely incoherent support of Traitor Joe.

No matter how respectful and nice you are, they get so pissed when fairly challenged in ways the DeeCee cocktail weenie circuit never do. Why the hell couldn’t he simply say, “Trust me, there are many, but I’ve been so busy here and having a little trouble recalling specifics on the spot. That’s a fair question and I’ll try to get back to you. How’s that?” Or something to that effect.

The anger directed at you, and CTBob by Sen. Boxer, is just bizarre. Many of us have been these people’s biggest supporters over the years in donations and volunteering. Accountability’s a bitch, huh? Makes you wonder about their true motivations, and reach for the tin foil hat, doesn’t it?

what you have there is a textbook example of our ossified political class: out of touch, living in a bubble, and incapable of even the tiniest iota of intellectual honesty or consistency.

I agree. Durbin could have said, I don’t have a good answer for you and left it at that. Instead he gave a blow off response and got called on it.
