From the Politico report that McCain has selected a VP: “The news leaked on the third night of the Democratic National Convention, detracting attention from speeches by former President Bill Clinton and the Democratic ticket mate, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware.”

Oh, what a coINNNNNNNNcidence that this item “leaks” on the same day that Pres. Clinton and Sen. Biden spoke at the Dem convention. And tools like Politico are just thrilled to be able to talk about McCain instead of giving the Democrats an opportunity to get their message out.

Politico reports that Karl Rove tried to pressure Joe Lieberman into withdrawing his name from consideration as John McCain’s running mate:

But i agree. The GOP is gonna rip Barack’s face off. Nasty stuff only interrupted by informing us that John McCain was a POW. But maybe the line will be “They didn’t offer anything positive, blah, blah.” But it’s getting too late in the game for that. ATTACK!!!!!!

The convention has been disappointing w/the exception of Hillary and Kerry’s speech. Back here in NJ not much juice about this convention and these Dems.

Convention is spicier than 04 but much too tame than needed - especially with the GOOPERS coming up in days.
