You probably didn't see it, but that line was delivered by Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood and the daughter of former governor Ann Richards.
Not to state the obvious, but the cable news networks suck. I did my best to flip around during the speeches, and at one point, David Gregory and some other air talking head were babbling about the Democrats not attacking -- while on PBS (and right behind them), Kathleen Sebelius was attacking McSame. Unreal.
Here's a few of the best moments that the corporate media didn't bother to cover.
There’s a pattern here. Barry Goldwater ran for president and he lost. Mo Udall ran for president. He lost. Bruce Babbitt ran for president. And he lost. Speaking for myself, and for at least this coming election, this is one Arizona tradition I’d like to see continue!
I'm sure you remember a girl from Kansas who said there's no place like home. Well, in John McCain's version, there's no place like home. And a home. And home. And home.
Pena:
For eight years now, President Bush and Dick Cheney have rubber- stamped an energy policy written by big oil companies and their lobbyists in Washington. And what does John McCain want to do now? The same old things that keep on failing: more of the same tax breaks for big oil companies making record profits. More of the same roadblocks in front of fuel-efficient vehicles. More of the same refusal to support advanced, renewable energy. Americans who had to pay $4 dollars a gallon for gas this summer know we can’t afford more of the same.
The same folks who say they believe in small government and fiscal restraint are responsible for the biggest expansion in the size of government and the size of the federal deficit in American history. The same folks, with John McCain leading the charge, who say they support seniors, want to privatize Social Security and put corporate pension funds up for grabs. The same folks who call themselves “compassionate conservatives” are the folks who abandoned all those people not only after Katrina, but before that storm. The American people have had enough.
It’s clear: the only thing green in John McCain’s energy plan is the billions of dollars he’s promising in tax cuts for oil companies. And the only thing he’ll recycle is the same failed Bush approach to energy policy. We can’t afford more of the same.

Some great quotes, BT.
“A woman voting for John McCain would be like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.”
why anyone would cross the road to vote for Mc3rdterm is beyond me.
Damn liberal media!
Eggzactly.
(Had to scramble around for that one, punaise)

always looking on the sunny side…
the best quote of all was Bob Casey, Jr.’s:
conveninetly illustrated here.
Ultimately, we shell overcome.
(Would not want to poach upon yer territory, punasie.)
;~D
I may have to poach that one.

I really liked Patterson’s line:
“If the answer is John McCain, the question must be ridiculous.”
Hhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
You all are a hard-boiled lot.
This is just a head’s up. For all those that use Digg .. if you Digg a story .. and the headline of the particular post is longer than Digg allows … remember that it’s like writing a newspaper headline … so you can use abbreviations when appropriate and all that .. just trying to be of help
The liberal egg line: Roe is me
FYI
You may want to look into whether the party hosted by AT&T (the one crashed by Jane and Glenn) was actually in honor of one Steny Hoyer - for his direct role in carrying their water on the FISA legislation:
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/08/27/att-party/
Of interest…how many guests was Mr. Hoyer entitled to admit to the party?
Isn’t this just another form of payola, really?
choked up when I saw your headline, not realizing it was Ann’s daughter - good to see the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree
Richards said running for an office isn’t in her plans, though she speculated about her daughter, Lily Adams, being U.S. House material. “Just looking for a good congressional district for Lily, that’s my goal,” she said
uh, how about TX-31 ? :D
hats off to whoever coined “poultry in motion”
I was approached on that bill by a lot of people, both sides of the aisle. And I authored the bill with Congressman Steny Hoyer. And I know there’s been a lot of speculation on the bill because of Diebold.
So what’s the deal with Hoyer…really?
He’s no more a Democrat than Lieberman. He’s in the Globalist’s pocket - a true traitor to the Republic.
sebelius is the daughter of former ohio gov. gilligan…sheilds worked for him and said that last night. first father/daughter governors.
Sure a lot of eggcitement here over one yolk.
Amen Governor Patrick, Amen ! and it’s about g-d time someone slimes them with this - personally been beating local Republics about the head and face on this one for four years now
a very good sign
and oh btw, Senator Leahy gets it just right
Great line from Ms. Richards. It applies not just to women, but to the 98% of the electorate to whom the GOP pays only lip service, whose economic interests it trashes whenever possible, while telling them it is doing all it can to protect them. The same GOP that acts like the well-fed trustees at Oliver Twist’s work house, who have apoplexy when he asks for more, thin gruel.
Not to state the obvious, but the cable news networks suck.
At times like these, C-SPAN is your friend.
easy dozens it.
always looking on the p

get your foot off rigas.
By jumping in late you appear to be taking a whisk.
“A woman voting for John McCain would be like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.”
A laborer voting for John McCain would be like a banker voting for

why is the repub meeting on cspan?
illegals/immigration platform right now..man with last name ’cheng’ said proper word is ’invaders’……some want constitutional amendment that if parents aren’t citizens, children can’t be. some speaking out how ridiculous it is…others talking abouttheir own foreign roots.
chairperson keeps reminding to limit remarks, just made them talk longer.
wow. mindblowing.
why are they getting free air time the week before their convention?
did the dems get that air time, too?

is anyone having fdl problems today? access/loading?
Rachel shows such restraint in the face of tools like Buchanan. Wasn’t Buchanan’s sister part of the Mittens campaign? That went over real well.
“Poultry in motion” (!)
That IS worth crowing over …
Even if it ruffles certain of dem feathers.
(Such a tern of phrase bespeaks the deft touch a true master, such as our own punaise, and deserves attribution: it is not chicken feed or mindless rooster scratching!)
Probably old news but I just saw CNN reports Bill Clinton will not attend the Obama speech Thursday.
was having trouble with site about 45 min ago, seems to be okay now :D
Thats a tv commercial with McCain hugging Bush and then we voice over to McCain accusing the Bush campaign of the South Carolina robo calls that said his daughter was really his bastard.
Then we show a picture of the blond daughters face.
John gets angry says it was his adopted daughter we say it was a mistake…but in all honesty John never got this angry when it was his adopted daughter.
Then we ask McCain if he is sooo concerned about blood then why were his two half sisters left with nothing?
Because his wife runs things?
Don’t forget Bob Casey’s takeaway line, one we must not let sink beneath the waves!
Google: Results 1 - 10 of about 267,000 for poultry in motion.

The LAST thing the administration wants (or Israel wants) is Peace:
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpoi.....bush_a.php
[Ney]: But at the end of the day, you know, I brought a lot of things on myself, let me say it right out front, at the end of the day. And I did some things that were wrong. But I also believe that part of this was fueled in the sense of the Iran issue. It’s been no secret that when I went to prison I gave permission for a secret meeting I’d had with Mr. Guldimann [Tim Guldimann, then Swiss Ambassador in Tehran] who came from Switzerland. He presented a document that was absolutely incredible, where Iran would have recognized Israel and a whole host of other things, would have let our inspectors on their ground; and I sent that to the White House.
I’ll stand by that today; the White House denies it, but Colin Powell’s former assistant admits that that came over to the State Department and the White House wanted no part of it. And I believe that every step of the way, and I think it came more from Cheney’s people, but every step of the way that I attempted to deal with Iran, it got pretty harsh back. And so I think part of this, I made the bullets, I gave them the bullets, but I think some of the force was also involved with, you know, Iran and people that would rather see those countries not communicate, no matter who is head of Iran.
[Thom]: So Iran came to you because you speak Farsi and you are the Iran expert in the House of Representatives.
[Ney]: Ambassador Guldimann, who was ambassador from Switzerland to Iran, he came to me.
[Thom]: Right. Their representative. In other words, they approached you through their legal representative.
[Ney]: And I had participated in the meeting in Stockholm.
[Thom]: And they said that they would recognize Israel and that they would allow UN inspectors into their nuclear sites, and you passed that information along to the White House, it fell down the rabbit hole and immediately you were being prosecuted.
[Ney]: It fell down the rabbit hole, there was a lot of kickback. I know that Guldimann had terrible problems after that, I think with, mainly through Rumsfeld’s people and Cheney’s people. That’s what happened after that agreement.
[Thom]: It so sounds like the Don Siegelman story and the Paul Minor story, and if you’re not familiar with those two stories, I encourage you to do a little Googling. I think that we have political prisoners in the United States now.
The FDIC? It’s actually just “you and me”

Ultimately it is the citizens who are being saddled with every single debt that enriched the banksters and the politicians.
This wonderful quote actually originated with the father of former Republican congressman JC Watts, the elder Watts having used it to chide his conservative son. Just substitute “Black person” for “woman”, and “Republican” for “McCain”, and you’ll have the original quote:
I originally read it on an old Gilliard post. Here’s a quick reference from another source from the Google:
