Yesterday Florida had its congressional primaries.
As I wrote last night, with about 93% of the vote counted it’s looking like Donna Edwards may soon have a strong progressive with a reform-minded agenda working with her in Congress. (Oh, there’s still the general election in November… but Keller barely managed to hold onto his party’s nomination against Todd Long who’s getting 47% of the Republican vote.) AP has called the race for Grayson but says it’s too close to call on the GOP side.
Alan Grayson… 48.4%
Charlie Stuart… 27.5%
Mike Smith… 17.3%
Quoc Ba Van… 3.7%
Alexander Fry… 3.1%
Which ad do you think will be most effective in the general election?
Or this:
And, think about donating to Alan’s general election fund at our Blue America ActBlue page so he can keep running the ads. This is what red-to-blue is really about, not some more Inside the Beltway Stalinism.

Hey, it’s ZED!
w00t! Go Grayson!!!111
Jus Cogens!
Well groomed lad. LOL
Does any one how Robert Wexler made out in his re-election?
Thanks, Howie. You can really pick great candidates. My favorite ad isn’t among these. It’s the one with the quote attributed to Firedoglake at the opening. Who needs the Wall Street Journal?
yay Grayson and blue am!
eg from iphone
I like #2
Congratulations!!
to Grayson
& to Howie & Co.
*waving to Jacqrat*
wondering what Ric’s next job is gonna be after November.
Lessee, KKarl’s already got the “professional ratfucker” gig locked up over at Fox.
hmmm….
OT
now Kucinich up on CSPAN
Both ads are very good, but the hangar full of cash is just such a great visual, it gets my vote.
something tells me a costume may be involved :D
I think they’re both going to be effective.
now Kucinich up on CSPAN
Replay from yesterday.
I think Dennis is nursing a Red Bull hangover today…
just kidding. It was an excellent speech.
oops sorry, just assumed people would know it was from last night.
he was hopped up, wasn’t he?
crikey ! wrong link,
ahem,
this one tells me a costume may be involved
more coffee
Somebody at the DNC needs to hire his ad agency!
both ads are excellent; the second has more visceral imagery. I like the slamming shut of the briefcase in the first ad.
but the red/white/blue flag neckties….arrrgghh!
ran unopposed – but potential opponent rumored to run in November as “independent”
Wexler expected to win General
The GOP is divided!
I mean why is John McCain disrespecting George W. Bush, a sitting president by sticking him onto the first night of the convention?
Talk about hubris and presumptuousness. Talk about a slap in the face.
This is an outrage!

Wasserman Schultz still fucking around – and not supporting Blue America candidate Annette Taddeo:
You can also e-mail her at AskDebbie@DWSforCongress.com, and her Finance Director, Jason O’Malley, at FinanceDirector@DWSforcongress.com.
Big Orange
caught David Shuster bitchslapping Ghouliani with that this morning – loved it ?
Really, you’d think they would want to showcase the soaring oratory of a gifted statesman like George W. Bush. Bush is to McCain as Huckleberry Hound is to Droopy Dog.
Grayson’s win is making me smile all day … brilliant!
and he definitely gets another contribution from here … we need this guy!
Speaking of good ads this one has potential

Old Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler would be proud! War and Rackets!! 48.4%.
Congratulations Mr. Grayson!
I live in The City Beautiful and I saw that hangar ad over and over during prime time during the Olympics. It was great. He couldn’t have done that w/o da blue bloggers. Keller barely squeaked one out.
Panel on CSPAN with talking heads & Ds, doing victory lap about the House & Senate seat pickup. Makes me superstitious.
Makes me suspicious.
Both ads are effective – with so many retirees in the district, he needs to start banging on Bush/McKept’s policies that erodes pensions and there’s the no small matter of Republics plan for Social Security
Good morning pups! Here in the big tent press room. Dave is being interviewed on camera, will try to find out who they are.
How’s everybody doing?
I’m so proud I supported Grayson and will do so again. Both ads were great. In the 2nd , I especially loved the empty fire extinquisher, the live demo of the parachute, and best of all was the jail cell door slamming shut.
o/t
all kinds of Bush’s bitches coming out of the woodwork to bash him today
Novakula
al-Maliki
now Ney
definitely gonna need a bigger roost :D
Morning EG hope all is going well there in Mile High Denver!! How is the air??
Anybody know where to find out the breaksdown of R & D voters in FL-8? The R’s had a higher turnout. Turnout was crap, though. (20% statewide) Don’t know what that will mean for Grayson-Keller. Remember, there’s an anti-gay ballot measure and alot of the people who voted against Keller will vote for him in November.
Morning, sounds like you are having a great time!
maybe i missed it, but was the democratic platform committee meeting on for an entire week?
why is the repub meeting on cspan?
illegals/immigration platform right now..man with last name ’cheng’ said proper word is ’invaders’……some want constitutional amendment that if parents aren’t citizens, children can’t be. some speaking out how ridiculous it is…others talking abouttheir own foreign roots.
chairperson keeps reminding to limit remarks, just made them talk longer.
wow. mindblowing.
why are they getting free air time the week before their convention?
did the dems get that air time, too?
=====
is anyone having fdl problems today? access/loading?
haley barbour on now…..
mccain mccain mccain….blather..blather..
done.
these people are nuts.
next guy–’rule of law’…actually said that.
oh my
I like both ads, second one best.
From today’s WaPo:
Sweet!
I like both of them. 1st one as it is. 2nd one would be more effective if he cited the source and named the contractors that are screwing the troops and taxpayers. Out them!
#2 but it needs to be remade so that the who who is doing the screwing is clear, that those responsible are named at least so far as to call them Republicans.
Hiiiiiiii Elliott!
BIG SMILE this morning. Grayson is one of my mostest favorites.
