THANK YOU WACCAMAW for reminding me how wonderful Attaturk’s day-launching posts are and re-inspiring me. I am here late but grateful. Marion’s take on Bobo’s makeup made me roar… and talk of pimpster and mccain … loved the Joan Embrey line Attaturk….. Norske inspires… but I look at Obama and keep thinking of that Seduction of Joe Tynan movie… does he need a sophomoric narcissistic period before getting to the wiser and sadder statesman? Waccamaw … I too hope Rachel brings in more fresh voices like herself. Olbermann came from sports. What a gift he was. The 4th estate is so vital, since the three branches of government are so mangled and corrupt and the executive branch just devoured the powers of the other two, along with the lobbyists. So who did we get when we realy needed a 4th estate?. Judith Miller …… William Kristol…. Anyway, so glad I dropped by.

Just a simple fact.

not doubting you - just curious to see the data. thought you might have it at hand based on your statement. no problem, i can google it for myself.

as for the rest of your statement, i don’t completely disagree with the positive stuff. i just think it’s more complicated than that and i stand by my statement re fisa - which is a piece of counter evidence.

They were not finished after Nixon because we did not continue with the impeachment. If there had been, at that time, a purge of the “evil doers” the entire chaynee rumsfeld crew would have been in the pokey and not in power.
A lesson that Pelosi has not yet understood.

I’ve put links here many times over the last year or so showing this, but sorry, don’t have time at the moment to find the lastest numbers. During the primaries with Clinton, the amount of Obama’s small donor money was off the charts compared to his big money donations. Just a simple fact.

His entire campaign is about activating and informing the citizenry, and he’s doing it at a level that’s probably never been done before. Working directly with Howard Dean, he’s setting up mechanisms to ensure this will continue for generations and keep increasing. His “Technology Plan” is all about bringing transparency to the process and getting the electorate engaged in their government.

I cannot figure out why fellow Liberals do not herald these initiatives, and why they are not at least worthy of someone’s vote. He is checking and balancing himself with the general public, not mega-corps, by doing all this. In my lifetime, no Prez nominee has ever proposed and done anything like Obama has in terms of getting the public involved.

NBC is more than willing to provide McCane with a platform so he can catapult the propaganda. Leno is a rich celebrity that has done his bit for dumbing down the American public in the service to his corporate masters. NBC is worried that real change is in the air. Last night NBC’s Brian Williams, a Limbaugh admirer, did everything he could to not say Michell Obama’s speech was brilliant. His knees must be raw from servicing his corporate masters.

I had a dream last night. McCain owned a small cafe and after a long hard ride I stopped in there for a meal. I was told they had the best food in town but for now I could only get breakfast. Seeing as hunger already had it’s grip on me I decided to go for it. This is where it started getting weird. Three eggs and toast. Simple enough, huh? McCain brings me a plate, toast burned and no eggs. I say what’s up? He says with tears bubbling up, “you know I was a POW for 5 years. We didn’t have a toaster to burn our toast and the only chickens in the camp were owned by the guards and they didn’t have a butt. Do you hear me? We ate invisible eggs that came from a chicken that didn’t have a butt and your complaining about burnt toast, you’re un-American, you bastard.” Damn, I didn’t know chickens don’t have butts. Damn.
