McCain didn’t say it, he looked embarrassed, although he didn’t outright disown the phrase.

Not a bad ad but it needs more emotional impact so the viewer wants to punch a Republican in the nose after viewing.

wapo

For the general election, McCain and Obama are operating under different financial scenarios of their own choosing.

McCain has agreed to accept $84 million in public financing for the general election and the spending restraints that come with it.

Though the party committee can raise and spend as much as it wants to help him, the taxpayer money is the only cash that McCain can spend after accepting his party’s nomination at the convention next month. He essentially needs to drain down his privately funded campaign bank account this month _ and that helps explain the heavy TV spending.

Davis put the budget for September, October and the first few days of November at more than $100 million _ including the taxpayer money and accounts the RNC shares with the campaign _ and said: “We will start the general election fully flush.”

Obama, emboldened by record-shattering collections in the primary, decided to forgo public financing for the general election and became the first major-party presidential candidate in three decades to do so. That means he needs to rely on his significant fundraising capabilities to build up his cash reserves going into the fall, whereas McCain needs to deplete his.

McCain’s last month total exceeded his $21 million

Well, the DNC outraised the RNC last month, which is something I don’t remember happening before during a Prez election, and Obama raised almost double McInsane’s amount last month, which was McInsane’s best month so far. Panama John moves to public funding next month and will only (gah!) have $80-some million to spend for the rest of the campaign. Obama might raise that in ONE month. Even with the usual suspects funding 527s, I think Obama and the Dems will far outraise Repubes when it’s all added together for both sides.

And, they haven’t even really rolled this out yet:
http://narcosphere.narconews.c.....-your-data

It’s estimated that the text message plan for the VP pick gained the campaign 10 million new phone numbers (doesn’t seemed to have pissed off many that it didn’t work out that well). This latest “Vote for Change” Web site might do even more, and the fact that they’re going to turn the Mile High Stadium event into a community organizing “workshop” for an hour is breathtaking to think about how many people will start getting active. The implication of this focus on the ground game for fundraising and public opinion is incredible.

McInsane has Conglomerate Media as his ad agency which is a big advantage, but we’ll be able to buy more ad time, and completely blow them outta the water on ground game, so it’s looking very positive at this point to me.
