I was shocked that FOX News did not bleep the foul language used by the protesters. It’s quite clear to me they were chanting “Fork FOX News!” If you were as unsettled as I was by this language on your television machine, please join me on the fainting couch and file a complaint with the FCC right here.

During a segment with a reporter named Griff, he waded into a bunch of “Recreate 68″ protesters at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. The protesters were chanting obscenities, “F*** Fox News” over and over and over. The network did not have the decency to bleep the protesters’ chants, and it was very clear what they were saying. I think this kind of speech, even if it is reporting, should not be permitted on the air. Please make every effort to ensure that FOX news doesn’t let obscenity into my home again.

Michelle Obama gave the best speech I can recall. I am not a big cry baby but she had em rollin down my check as I watched the tape replay. She did not miss a beat and her 6′6″ brother who coaches hoops at Oregon State was equally elegant in introducing her. Both Michelle and Obama are lawyers and civic activists helping people. What a wonderful pair for the Whitehouse. We should all be quite proud of them, their achievements and their abilities to do the job ahead of them. I hope you have all watched it!

One of the nicest and most moving things that Michelle Obama spoke to tonight was the knowledge that she grew up truly loved. You could see from her brother’s speech that he, too, knew that he was truly loved. So many of us didn’t have that, but many of us wanted to provide that for our own children. There is….I know it…enough to go around. Enough love; enough sustenance; enough health care. All of it. We are ready for change of a positive kind.

Two more reasons we must win this election for our kids and grand kids… Congratulations (((DWR1))) How many doest that make… grand kids that is??

Eureka that was pretty good footage. Having the National Lawyers Guild to keep the cops honest is their way of protecting our first amendment rights of freedom of Speech and public assembly. An amazing little granddaughter in Montana…..we ‘do’ spunk in our family and I laughingly imagine her as a future barrel racer and rodeo queen; and then these little American-Italian boys who got born early but will soon catch up….they are still in the NICU but they are cute and spunky. And I feel confident that my spunky grandkids will bring strong values/ethics/morals to their future endeavors. Many of you are my age and probably remember folks who were so freaked out about the bad news of the 1970’s that they didn’t want to bring children into the world. I wanted to bring children into the world who would bring sanity and strength to the party. I’m not sorry for my choice.

Pleasant dreams, dmac. Life is such an adventure. It IS nice when one can find support and comfort. And tears are sometimes remarkably therapeutic. When I was counseling adolescents I sometimes pushed them to cry through it all the way to the end. Incredible. I know it works for me, and I was glad to share it with them and to be there to hold them when they were drained of tears and found some kind of laughter at the very fact of being a human being. None of us are getting out of this alive.

DWR! I completely agree with you. I was lucky to raise six and everyone of them have turned out good and the have values that I am very proud to have helped shape. I am now seeing them pass on those same family and societal values to their children. They all work hard and I know that the values I was given by my parents and from all in their family’s are in good hands with my kids… Makes all the tough times I spent well worth it.
When ever I talk to young adults who are married I tell them do not pass up having children themselves as the experience is one of the most rewarding experiences in life!
Cherish your grand kids ( but skip the diaper detail) you have earned it!

The 40’s and 50’s when I was growing up was a time of racial predujice. Coming from Southern roots I saw first hand the unfairness living in a colonial mansion in Virginia for a few years. It was not only the black people but poor white farmworkers that had NO medical care and often lost their teeth for lack of care. if you weren’t the elite oh well.
Robert Roark wrote a book that became a sreen play “Something of Value”. As I sat through the film in Lynchburg Va with my Virginia dad and Kentucky stepmom I sensed their discomfort and the film was never up for discussion.
Tonight I sensed the deep pain and scars of centuries of inequality being challenged and that the “change” we seek is deeper and as yet undefined. The change as described by Michelle Obama today was about how we give respect to people no matter their belief. That is the kind of leadership we can follow. “E Pluribus Unum” is not leaving anyone behind or out.

Today a lifelong Republican politician from Iowa
spoke on behalf of change and in support of the Obama/Biden ticket. He said his party had strayed from their values. Boy did he nail his speech only one hesitation. I believe Harkin introduced him. May be that these republicans will cross the party lines. A really good start for the campaign for the White House.

Plot to Kill Obama: Shoot From High Vantage Point

DENVER (CBS4/AP) ― CBS4 has learned at least four people are under arrest in connection with a possible plot to kill Barack Obama at his Thursday night acceptance speech in Denver. All are being held on either drug or weapons charges.

CBS4 Investigator Brian Maass reported one of the suspects told authorities they were “going to shoot Obama from a high vantage point using a … rifle … sighted at 750 yards.”

Law enforcement sources tell Maass that one of the suspects “was directly asked if they had come to Denver to kill Obama. He responded in the affirmative.”

I’ve never seen any violent protest that I felt that I wanted to be a part of. But after living through the changes in my country, I would love to be standing next to that “reporter” and shouting F— Fox News. Never say never.
