I’m really not surprised at this idiot’s words. I was annoyed enough seeing Fournier’s(however the hell you spell his last name) article FRONT PAGED in my local paper here in GR. I know i’m in GOP territory but egads. The more positive articles were down below it. Oddly enough, Grand Rapids, MI though GOP territory in the State government(almost entirely); has voted democrat the last 4 elections. By enough of a margin to not be contested either. So methinks on that level something keeps getting in the way. Like all the college kids and some fully naturalized immigrants, of which there are many here! Hopefully we’ll be changing the local level a bit more.

Our local newspapers rely more and more on AP content, which they pay for, as they shrink their own newsrooms. When local readers let the newspaper know that they don’t trust Fournier — and the AP — they will pay attention. The Nedra Pickler campaign generated 15,000 letters to newsrooms earlier this year.

Local papers want to hear from their readers. They want to know that their stuff is read. And if you don’t trust their AP stuff, they will tell AP to take Fournier off the presidential beat.

All these “journalists” on Wee George’s show are in the multiple-houses crowd. Each one knows how many houses s/he has, and each one knows just how guillotine-inspiring McCain’s comment is for every one of them in the multiple-houses set. It’s tinder for the revolutionary fire in this country, and they are scared. They don’t want idiots like Halperin trying to spin it; they want McCain’s gaffe to go away.

Someone pointed out that Stewart, Colbert, and Letterman were all on hiatus this week, and that Jay Leno was pre-empted for Beijing. Can’t you just imagine how they will all come out fighting on this story on Monday, giving it new life? It’s important that we keep it alive, and Halperin helped.
