It can really go either way. The cops let R-68 run up Speer Blvd today with no permit, etc. so it may be a better protest zone than forecasted.

This was a Freshman seminar. I am a biologist, and that was more or less the topic. The theme was the history of the discovery of DNA. Five books to read, including a biography of Rosalind Franklin. When we got around to discussing that, students were dissing the “feminist” tone of the biography, and its general tone.

So, as to the that, I asked, well, what was going on when that book was published? Think about that. Blank looks. I said, feminism. I said “VietNam”. And, thence, the question from the student.

It wouldn’t be seemly to reveal my gender in a public place…There are laws against that sort of thing.
