I thought the analysis was spot-on: the choice of Biden highlights Obama’s full flight from the activist base that got him nominated; Biden is a smarmy egocentrist and the ultimate insider. It was a huge relief to read something honest about the Obama campaign instead of more of the media gushing that prevents all of us — progressives and the general electorate — from seeing and dealing with his flaws.</p> Fournier’s piece was posted as an “Analysis,” not a news piece, so he can say whatever he wants. On the face, Fournier almost seems to be right. However, what he’s actually doing is turning news reportage into an editorial forum, which is a horse of an entirely different color.
