I think the "Obama is an elitist" meme may have met its antidote.
UPDATE: For those following the veepstakes … I know this is a shocker, but supposedly Hillary is out.

Yikes
Redd just got her post up minutes ago!
remember this
Their credit card bills peaked between January 2007 and May 2008, during which time Cindy McCain charged as much as $500,000 in a single month on one American Express card and $250,000 on another, while one of their two dependent children had an AmEx card with a monthly balance as large as $50,000.
I wonder what their Carbon Footprint is? Perhaps we should ask Al Gore…
Thanks David.
We just wanted to get the video up ASAP so people could see it. It was actually Redd’s idea. Please, continue the conversation in her thread if it’s a good one.
better yet, let’s ask T Boone
I smell a “class warfare” ad in the near future from the Greedy Old Pigs.
B-But John McCain doesn’t care about petty material things!
(From Powerline)
Next time I’m late with the rent, I’m totally going to say that I care little about material things. It’ll totally work.
Question is, does this Powerline moron really not know that not caring about material things is a luxury you can afford when you’re FILTHY STINKING RICH, or does he just think we’re all so stupid we can’t figure it out?
Technically, McCain did not state that anyone worth less than $5 million was “middle class.” He said nothing about anyone making less than $5 million. There is a category called “upper middle class.” Not defending McCain (at all), but these ads need to be accurate, and this one is not. They need to be exceptionally careful with each word they select.
hey David, is this a “regional” ad ?
Barack Obama …from waaaay downtown…Nothing But Net!
its class ocupation now…feudalism….the rich won the war
Yup.
Welcome to the New Serfdom.
Nice try, David, but now I want to see an ad that makes the connection between the number of homes, the Ferragamo shoes (wonder how many of those he owns; BTW, any Armani suits in his closet?), and him calling the other guy an out of touch elitist. Then connect the other guy with the date his last student loan was paid off and compare the graduating class standings. Then I’ll be satisfied, but not until. I hope it is Biden; we need someone that bites back!
I don’t think it’s effective at all. Accusing a Republican of being rich is about like accusing a dog of having fleas. It’s just a worthless observation of normality. Whoever thought this would be clever should be sent to the Idaho field office for the duration.
Obama needs to bring on some hard hitting contrasts – they could start by reading Juan Cole’s Informed Comment, he provides ad content almost daily.
This thing is going down the toilet, but we’re gonn’a keep right on marching to our own beat.
Oh, and there’s also gonna be a category called “Lower Rich Class”. I’m sure the Republicans will claim that McCain was referring only to the Middle “Rich”….not those struggling “Lower Rich Class” folks below $5 million a year incomes.
Lets not forget to show Obamas shoes with the holes in the soles.
firedogs, follow ugh, Rove’s advice and watch it again, with the sound off
Hmmm. The last guy to do that didn’t fare so well in November.
his college age daughter spends get this
OVER HALF A MILLIONDOLLARS per year on her AMEX…..and the McFools pay for it
Easy to see the guy from Powerline never read McSame’s book wherein he defined the reason he decided to run for President as strictly ambition and ruled out pretty much all higher altruistic purposes!
Heh, heh!
New post
No war but class war.
Imagine what Jenna and not-Jenna spend. Oh sure, Republics are just like everyone else.
IS there any reason they would not think…THE F**** WORLD OWES them a living….and they dont have to do NADA
yea …and WE owe it to him
If that can be authenticated, it would make a great ad—
Americans would puke!
I’m uncomfortable with the direction of this meme.
How many homes do you own? Do you have a summer cottage? A winter condo?
How many pairs of shoes do you own? Do the pairs I no longer wear count?
How many computers do you own? Do I own them all, or do I count the ones my children use exclusively?
How many vehicles do you own? Do you include bicycles? Motorcycles? Skateboards?
How many wristwatches do you own? How many pairs of glasses? How many phones? How many bank accounts do you have?
Yes, McCain is out of touch with middle class America realities. But ask yourself the question that started this. How rich is rich? What is your answer? Mine is, I’m rich if I can stop working tomorrow, never have to work another day in my life, yet still have the comforts of a home, three meals a day, comfortable clothes, good health and health care, and enjoy what I do each day with my time. Is that $5 million? I think I can get by with less than that, but I’m not 100% sure. Are you?
if the FERAGAMO fits………………i say where it
hahahahahahahahahahaha
and John will be so very sorry he brought up elitism
Not sure why the team that made this add did not use McCain hemming and hawing when the question was asked. The actual video would be much more effective in my opinion.
People who care little about material things often drop $520 on a pair of shoes.
Having foot problems myself, I can understand that. I go for purpose, fit, comfort & quality. Price may be a factor, but it isn’t the number one factor.
