Looking at Biden recently I learned about what happened to his first wife and kids with the car accident. I do feel some extra respect for him now knowing this, since I can’t imagine having to go through that. This must influence his decision making even today.

Every report I can see online attributes a Sprinkles and Pickles report (AP’s Liz Sidoti and Nedra Pickler) or “news service reports,” which typically means AP. Their report simply says anonymous DemocratIC sources. I won’t believe it until I hear it from Team Obama.

After being so careful not reveal anything, I can’t believe it would be leaked to two of the most untrustworthy reporters out there today, and pre-empt the whole notifying on the volunteers first.

Obama has been toying with Conglomerate Media on several things since all that madrassa nonsense. I really hope this is a big reminder to them that they don’t call the shots anymore, and that all those people who signed up for the text message will get the real and final scoop over BigMedia. Biden certainly has good qualities, and yes, the debates would be your quintessential battle of wits with an unarmed opponent, but I really worry he also has agendas of his own that he could pursue in secret from the cover of that undisclosed location, and that we don’t know what those agendas are. He’s always a bit of a wildcard,you never know which way he’s gonna come down on an issue. He would not have done the bankruptcy thing if he were truly on the peoples’ side.

Well if his dad is VP and then Beau gets chosen to fill Biden’s Senate Seat I think strings can be pulled in the Pentagon.

If Biden has an agenda, I would be pleased that it wasn’t similar to Shooter’s, and I think we can count on that.

They don’t have to-they’ll already have an empire. The US has troops on the ground in somewhere between 120-130 countries, and wields an array of economic weapons to keep its client states in line. If those fail, then there are covert ops or outright military force. The US spends more on “defense” than the next 10-15 nations combined. The US either owns or controls many of the natural resource rich areas of the world, is heavily invested in the new, rising manufacturing areas, and either owns or controls much of the distribution and trade. Both horizontally and vertically integrated, while also supplying money and arms in vast numbers to people all over the world who will cooperate with the US.
No US President need strive for Empire. We are an empire, and have been for a long time, beginning in 1898 and solidified in ‘46-’48.
The struggle will come in the necessity to draw down the Empire carefully, to create a “soft landing” that will enable the US Empire to be dismantled in a way that doesn’t create chaos and starvation at home. Just MHO.

Hell, maybe war’s broken out between the US & Russia on the high seas near Georgia. For that matter.

NPR broke into its overnight classical programming to inform us Biden is 65 years old and has ten years seniority over McCain in the senate. Didn’t mention McCain is 72.

Even if Biden really is Obama’s choice, some candidates of the future may be figuring out how to fake out overeager news reporters without lying. Faking out big media might increase a candidate’s popularity with voters.

In all seriousness, do you imagine for a second a Obama-Biden executive attacking Iran? Or double-dealing in Israel-Palestine matters? Or being just plain stupid wrt North Korea? Or throwing elbows in Europe, or the UN?

What we have witnessed in the last 7.5 years is such an abominable aberration that when (if) we settle into 2009 with Obama-Biden, we won’t recognize the leadership of this country.

I’m no fan of either, but McCheese is still and all, no matter who his Veep choice is, not an alternative.
