I think this hits the nail on the head for an even bigger McCain problem, from the Politico:
The McCains increased their budget for household employees from $184,000 in 2006 to $273,000 in 2007, according to John McCain’s tax returns.
More than a quarter-million for what in common parlance would be described as servants. The closest most Americans come to that is asking Jeeves where the celebrity porn tapes can be found. And in these tough economic times, it appears that Jeeves himself has been laid off.
You know, $270,000 would buy a whole lot of arugula. That’s elitism you can believe in. I’m only amazed they didn’t employ a half-sister to clean out the septic tank.
I am not going to vouch for the accuracy of Mark Halperin (Obama will name Lugar, really?), but in a move that shows just how much McCain shot himself in the foot yesterday the Drudge-lover is claiming Mitt Romney has become McCain’s choice for a running mate.
Well, that will certainly appeal to the working class — of Utah and Kathryn Lopez. Watch your dogs!
Let me state once again, there is no way that Jesus, or New World Vacationing Jesus, loves me that much.

Well, well. Cindy’s tax returns couldn’t be had, but this is just as good.
Go Team Go!
Hail muse Attaturk!
BTW while we’re obsessing over house tallies and VP picks, things may be going south in a big way, poking-the-bear-wise. I believe it was Johnny McSame himself who intoned oh-so-knowingly “There will be other wars.” Possible naval showdown window opens just in time to upstage the D convention. (Notice how nicely the Georgian bear-poking coincided with BO’s luau trip?)
Champagne wishes and caviar dreams don’t come cheap.

Citizen Attaturk and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
Can anyone tell me why, with the incredible mess the fascists have made of EVERYthin’ and how completely corrupt and irrelevant John McCrazy is, why do so many “Democratic” pundits, pollsters and Clinton supporters continue to claim that this is gunna be a close election? If McCrazy gets within 10 percentage pointz we should call in the UN to investigate.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, THEY’VE STOLEN EVERYTHIN’ ELSE, ALL THAT’S LEFT ARE OUR VOTES!!
Uh-huh. I see.
But the US effectively owns the UN.
Well not quite. Some of our votes are still sitting in the trash cans at Diebold and a large number of blacks have been/are being disenfranchised.
Citizen Cleanth:
Yes indeed Professor Frog, so that would make it “ironic” to call upon the UN to investigate the US election…maybe sarcasem does it for ya?
Good God go to sleep…
Mitt the mutt has oodles of cash, as does McCindy, and is the darling of the MIC. He has no conscience when it come to jobs and workers rights being ready to sacrifice thousands of jobs on the altar of profit. Truly the kind of ruthlessness that is embraced by compassionate conservatives.
As for obama’s choice for veep, I am prepared for yet another disappointment from him.
Norske they Blue Dogs Spinless Ones are calling it close because they believe their own propaganda nobody changes their zeitgeist until after Krazilec/Ragnarök
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragnar%C3%B6k
When a new world forms why well some folks don’t like change that is what a Conservative is after all they don’t like change.
It does not mean they are thrifty with money or resources.
I can’t believe I couldn’t find a wiki for Krazilec! Maybe I just can’t spell:(
Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo and Krugman today. Bobo is “Hoping It’s Biden.” He’s concern trolling, and says that for the good of the country, he hopes Barack Obama picks Joe Biden as his vice-presidential running mate. Why doesn’t he call up Mc$ame, if he can locate which of his 8 houses he’s in, and advise him instead? Mr. Krugman says “Now That’s Rich,” and that one thing’s for sure: Barack Obama isn’t planning to raise taxes on the middle class, by any reasonable definition.
http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/
The coffee and tea are ready, and the Thomas’ English muffins are hot and crispy. There are still some of eCAHNomics’ homemade peach preserves to go with them. It’s Friday, it’s payday, and we seem to have been spared the worst of Fay. All in all, life is good! Have a great day.
I don’t think any of this wealth registers as too much of a negative for swing voters
the most effective things we need to pound in this campaign is the fact that mccain thinks the surge worked
that’s an important point to make, he thinks the surge worked and that’s what he’s going to do with the entire country, install programs that fail and claim they are working in spite of every narative but the one he can dig up from under a rock
he was for the war, he claimed Iraq was a threat, he believed forged evidence that no other country believed
and here is a big one and I hope the obama camp reads this blog because this needs to be exploited as much as possilbe
MCCAIN;S POLICIES HAVE MADE ISRAEL A TARGET and compromised their ability against the entire middle east
mccain’s policies have set back the hope for peace by more then anyone knows and it is going to take a miracle now to actually broker a treaty and turn the enemies of the Israel state into allies
BING
you know how rove’s tactics were attack the oponents strenghts?
well mccains weakness is being used by the mccain camp as if it’s an asset and barack needs to do something pronto right about now
mccain is actually winning the jewish vote even though most jews cannot stand bush, his policies and his record
NOW HOW COULD THAT POSSIBLY BE?
I’ll tell you how, it’s bigotry but most people won’t admit even to themselves it’s bigotry and they use something as bizarre as “we don’t know what’s going to happen to israel if barack is president”
barack needs to scare the crap out of them over what mccain will do to israel
I’m sure Mexicans can expect the same treatment this election Loe Dobbs and Glen Beck are pissing us off and the GOP has to be worried about more marches come election day.
Not that I have heard of any I think our leadership might have gone spineless too after the last marches success there is something called being to successful.
And our Centerist are just as likely as the Blue Dog Dem Centerists to drop the ball on purpose to prevent a big win that would change things.
Bobo is “Hoping It’s Biden.” He’s concern trolling, and says that for the good of the country, he hopes Barack Obama picks Joe Biden as his vice-presidential running mate.
Ok Bobo wants Biden what more do we need to know.
if barack is going to lose this election it will be to bigotry, they will blame something else
barack lost the enthusiasm of the base when he capitulated on a number of things right out of the box, he no longer has people like myself excited about a barack presidency, he no longer has the buz he had before I found out what I can expect from him
it’s going to take quite a bit for him to get that buz back and untill he does it will be very very hard for him to overcome and win the swing voters
But I’ve only just begun my day.:)
And if you persist in this insulting name-calling, I have it from mod that such things will be curtailed pronto. Grow up, please do.

Citizen perris:
Well there are so many issues to hit Crazy John with startin’ with his wealth and his privelidged life of fucked up opportunities, his Neanderthal understanding of economics, his unstable temperment, his misogynism, his cold war metality, his racism. All of these things bind him to Bush in everything but DNA and maybe with how those families are inbred…? The dots are fallin too fast ta connect ‘em…maybe we get a wheel barrow, collect ‘em all and make a nice long chain that spells “BUSH” around his neck?
True, dat!
And speaking of names in the news…….little ralphie reed’s gonna be on Washington Journal this morning……for a full hour! I’ll wait to eat ’til afterward; no sense in wasting good food. :-(
Good morning, Things!
Conservative A wants to go back to a previous order.
Conservative B wants to overthrow the present order on various grounds, such as “corruption”.
Conservative C desires to bring into being a golden age in future based on principles differing from those obtaining at present.
ALL of these putatively “conservative” positions are, in actuality, radical!
My mentor, in undergrad days and for my first graduate degree was a very, very great educator and political scientist. He once publicly debated William F Buckley. Buckley, as was his wont, droned on and on: conservative this, conservative that. Came my mentor’s turn, and he asked Buckley just what sort of conservative he was, giving him choices similar to mine above. Even the great debater Buckley was so unerved by this that he left the hall!
Reply to Perris @15
Bush gave Saudi Arabia Nuclear tech and guess who else has plans for getting reactors the UAE (United Arab Emirates ) Kuwait and Bahrain the article does not say who is going to give them the Nuclear Reactor tech but I bet its Bush. If we get this information out McCain can forget about Florida.
After Bush is not threatening to bomb these countries so they all must have his approval right?

“…insulting name calling..” now come on Professor, that’s the name you gave yourself when you gave us a lecture about Ms. Dickenson’s poem…look Herr Dr. if you can’t take it don’t dish it out…in other words, if ya fuck with the bull you’ll get the horns…so don’t fuck with me!
Food for thought. Powerful stuff.
Link did not come through’ Again, try this:http://powerofnarrative.blogspot.com/
Sounds great I don’t suppose you have a transcript of the debate I can always learn a bit more:)
How erudite.
Good morning to you, and over and out.
Good Morning all.
2 points:
1) I’m hoping it’s Biden, too. Sharp tongue. And funny.
2) I was afraid it might be Romney. He’s Cheney’s guy. If the repubs steal another election, Cheney will be serving his 3rd term.
If McCain chooses Romney is he afraid that Mitt will show him up by knowing how many houses he owns? Only Republicans would think doubling down on the multiple domicile sector is appealing to their base.
cnn’s whining about how late night comedians aren’t making fun of OB; they call it the “giggle gap”. :-(
And…..according to ap, “Military halts shipment of deadly toxins” (temporarily). Sorry, I won’t link to those twits.
Hi again, Things:
This took place in 1961, if memory serves. I wish I had a transcript. I had a cassette recording, but I have travelled over much of the world since then, and much has not survived my many removals.
This professor’s lectures were riveting. I was spellbound. And he managed to make it all seem as if for the first time and vitally important. His speciality was political philosophy. He opened the world of intellectual history to me and, although my degrees are wide-ranging, I am an intellectual historian at heart. Ths is to say: history of ideas. Ideas can be traced rather like epidemics can be traced, from first appearance to later manifestations.
This professor also had an unusual sense of dry humour. One day he came into the lecture roon, put down his tattered briefcase as usual, and without a word he began writing a list on the chalkboard: Hannibal, 10 inches; Alexander the Great, 11.2 inches; that sort of thing. Turning to the class, he deadpanned: “today we are going to consider penis envy as the root of all social clataclysm”. You see, Things, he was ridiculing Freud.
So help me, Things, a naive freshman raised her hand and asked: “Professor, will this be on the final?”
Things, I gather that you are a student? If so, what do you study?
Obama is not confusing Shite and Sunni like McCain is, McCain provides comics lots more material to work with. CNN if they stopped worrying about balance and reported the news would know this.
Yet when Dems mess up we never hear the end of it.
At this point my main concern about Biden is that Bobo was plumping for him this morning in the NYT. I’m in the school of thought that says if Bobo is for it I’m against it! Now, if Bobo had kept his festering pie hole shut I’d have been much happier with Biden…
Good Morning, It’s to early to listen to CNN. Actually, the time is never right to listen to CNN. If we lived in a country with real reporters and journalists, they would start reporting the other items that McCain has forgot. With McCain you can’t really tell if he is lying or just can’t remember.
Good morning, solai!
D’ya suppose that either McTeleprompter OR Cheney would live through the next four years, given age and poor health? Or, for that matter, Holy Joe?
Obama is clearly out of touch with the American people.
He thinks that a household income of $250,000 per year places on in the “rich” category? Hell, that’s barely enough to pay most people’s annual household staff budget!
I mean seriously, how many people only own one house?
Nope not a student I was a Philosophy major and English Lit minor. The rest I learned on my own.
Why are you watching such things as cnn. Have you nothing better to do this morning, brushing your teeth, combing your hair, feeding the fish, watching the grass grow, counting the leaves of a tree?
Oh Marion! What did you make for our breakfast this morning? Must be powerful stuff: you are in rare form this a.m.
Cheers!
~c
I’m retired living a middle class off my investments with less than that.
Darth and Mitt are connected how?
morning!
a quick question that i thought one of you poll watcher might know the answer to…. anyone know where i can find a detailed composite poll for obama’s standing vs mccain? i need it by date and the longer the time frame the better.
(this is all wigwam’s fault who had the idea of comparing oil prices to obama’s polling results).
Whaaat. You think the pious pixie would employ the mossad to do their usual dirty work to ensure his elevation to Pres.? Surely not /s*
And speaking of names in the news…….little ralphie reed’s gonna be on Washington Journal this morning……for a full hour! I’ll wait to eat ’til afterward; no sense in wasting good food. :-(
The GOP is going down in flames and Ralph wants back in doesn’t he have anywhere else to go or is he afraid of working for living?
Bobo has a somewhat less than salutary effect on me…! But at least I don’t need the Hazmat suit to deal with him the way I do when confronting Kristol.
Israel thrives on being perceived as a target/victim. It’s precisely their agenda.
McCain has been one of their favorite “tools” for decades.
Examine the role of both McCain and his Father in the USS Liberty coverup. The image of Lieberman whispering in McCain’s ear, telling him exactly what to say, is the most apt metaphor imaginable.
My tongue was all the way in my cheek with that post.
The entire Cheney family was rooting for Mitt. I saw Cheney’s daughter do the news shows pushing Romney.
That is the way it is suppoed to work! Notwithstanding my many degrees and a lifetime as an educator, I still say that what college did for me was to teach me to read; and to have confidence that I could make at least a good first approach to anything that interested me. I am a very avid reader, and when the Grim Reaper comes for me, he will have to get by the thousands of books blocking his way, and, gasp, mine.
Tale (true) is told of the British bibliomaniac, Sir Reginald Heber. When he succumbed, it was impossible to reach his bedside for all the books blocking the staircase to his rooms. The auctions of the Heber collections went on for decades.
Sounds, from what you tell, Things, that you are also a devotee of lifelong, self-directed learning. I had a hunch from clues in your posts, that you are a good’un.
I’m sure you know about this place, but just on the off chance… They seem to have more information than you can shake a stick at.
Marion, Bobo jumped on the Biden bandwagon because he doesn’t want to be left out. The media decided that he was the one a few days ago.
Try these guys
http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/
I’ve buried my knowledge of Romney, refresh my memory. Did he earn much of his money as a corporate raider?
Well, off to labor in the salt mines where I can’t get FDL for some reason. I can’t begin to tell you how that annoys me…
Who owes who a drink? Same place I suggested!
Nope daddy gave him most of his money and then he made more by his corporate raiding.
I don’t imagine I’ll be all that productive at work today. What time do you think they’ll announce the veep? I understand that the delay is to milk the ‘house’ story. But it’s got to be soon, no?
John McCain Hates Mitt Romney
Don’t you think corporate raiding would be the death blow to their campaign?
Solai, My guess is that he will announce in time for the evening news.
Nice day for you, Marion!
TCU @ 30 / JPL9 @ 32 / nomolos @ 36 -
Actually, y’all would be pleased at how much I’ve cut my consumption of the clap-trap but it’s hard to get rid of an addiction to what you keep hopin’ will be decent news reporting……kinda like not being able to stop “worrying” a sore tooth just in case it *might* have stopped hurting. *g*
Not good I don’t doubt you that Darth and family supports Mitt I wonder why? I wonder if Haliburton and Bain Capital have any ties? I got a list of companies owned by Bain no obvious ties to Darth.

The compassionate conservatives love corporate raiding so that vote is secure and I am sure that the MSM will spin the raiding into getting rid of deadwood and illegal workers.
Nobody wants to take me up on the Arthur Silber link I posted? Strong stuff.
Been there, done that. Vivid analogy!
OK, I have got to get offline soon; FDL is addicting.
If your near Seattle I’ll buy you a drink.
Things, what is the relevance of Bain? First I have heard of them.
Crap Savannah sorry if you are in the area I’ll buy you a drink.
I used to live in Queen Anne. Worked in Renton in those days.
If McCain’s campaign staff and servants are reshuffled, will we be seeing Rove in a French maid costume?
The CFR is writing the policy the SPP is implementing in moving us into the NAU. The CFR sponsored “Building a North American Community ” AKA NORTH AMERICAN UNION.
The Co-chair of Romney’s campaign in New York was none other than former Massachusetts governor WILLIAM F. WELD.
WILLIAM F WELD was the U.S CO-CHAIR on the INDEPENDENT TASK FORCE ON NORTH AMERICA, the VERY SAME that was put together by the COUNCIL ON FOREIGN RELATIONS specifically for the report they sponsored “Building a North American Community”
See the CFR’s own website
All roads lead to David Rockefeller.
will we be seeing Rove in a French maid costume
Yeah, with Guckert!
I’m of the camp that believes that McC had the questions beforehand in that religious forum. So, how did he blow that “Who’s rich” question? Went off script for a sec? That question was too late in the interview to be overheard? He tried with the ‘money doesn’t make you rich’ line but Warren pushed him for a number? WTF happened there?
thanks marion and TCU – the supertracker plot looks like just what i want… haven’t found the raw data yet, but will look around. thanks again.

Imagining Rove in a French Maid Costume is more than I can take. I’d rather have a root canal.
Bain Capital is Mitt Romney’s hedge fund follow the link they got some good information.
Bain wanted to buy Clearchannel home of Russ Limbaugh before the Presidential election I think buying good media coverage should be illegal.
The deal was held up because Clearchannel’s stock price kept dropping despite take over rumors which is rare to say the least
. Thats the kind of thing that makes me wonder about their books.
Clearchannel wanted a buyout at the old price Bain did too for reasons I can’t explain, the banks financing the deal tried to back out because the price was to high, Bain threatened the Banks with lawsuits.
Bain bought Home Depot recently and there were problems with the price on that deal too.
I’m by China Town.
I’m off to prepare for work (where I’ll be less than productive as I surf for news).
McCain believes that $5 million is the rich line – that’s his honest answer. Many whose net worth is in the $1-3 million range would actually agree. Rich is a relative term.
He’s a total moron for saying it, but he absolutely believes it.
Your Welcome! I like your writing anything to help.
Bain Capital and Carlyle Group are connected at the hip.
I know I just find it weird that I feel ok being retired and growing my small pile of total assets with less than what Obama says is rich for yearly income.
Never mind what McCain calls rich for yearly income.
Where and How?
He actually said 5 million a year, I think, I would have to go back and check.
Apparently there will be no Ralph Reed on WJ
bummer
Ahh Ralph is in the building
Washington is broken. John McCain knows it. We’re worse off that we were 4 years ago. Why, just last year, John McCain’s bill for household servants went up by 48%.
$270,000 for 8 houses doesn’t quite average $35,000. Not paying those servants very well . . . d’ya suppose they’re all properly documented?
Ahh, I was wrong; ralphie’s only scheduled for 30 minutes……….and he’s already blown 13 of them as a late show. Maybe he’s still in a motorcade waiting to hear all the questions ahead of time. *chuckle*
………..
Oh, spit! They’re moved the little toad to the 8:00 slot. :-(
“bain capital” + “carlyle group”

Follow the money
First thing outta his mouth……..covering mccain’s @ss. Blergggggggggggh!
Color me unsurprised.
Mitt as VP
Crap I just realized that I’m the person who’s been keeping track of Bain Capital at the Lake as much as anybody Arrrgh.
Hedge Funds are boring! They all think their Geniuses because in a good economy they borrow at 30 to 1 leverage and then they scream for a tax payer bailout when the economy goes bad.
Banks borrowing from the Fed putting up bad loans at full value, Freddie and Fannie about to get bailed out for bad loans.
Well guess who bought those bad loans before nobody would touch them at 30 to 1 leverage with financing loans from the banks Hedge Funds like Bain.
Somehow they use these loans as collateral to buy companies like Clearchannel and Home Depot.
But what happens when the loans go bad do the banks ask the hedges for more collateral like they would us if we were dumb enough to have a margin account for stocks and the market went down.
Nope tax payers must save the system! After all if the Hedges need to give the banks more collateral then they would have to sell their companies at firesale prices and no they don’t got the cash.
30 dollar loans from banks for every 1 dollar of assets mean that they don’t have the cash. The banks do not have enough reserves to cover these loans either.
That’s interesting, Attaturk, about the $270,000 annual servant bill. I wonder how many “employees” that buys. It does look like they keep everything in a proportion with which most Americans can identify; 270K annually for servants and 750K monthly for shopping.
more calls please, less filibuster
I thought we were looking for Darth’s ties to Bain unless Darth is connected to the Carlyle Group also.
Bush 1 is the GOP connection to the Carlyle group.
Jeb is at Lehman Brothers. Not sure about the rest.
“Over and out” Jesus H. Christ on a kiddie car. Where did you find this clown?
Where have you been?
Obama now ought to come out saying, “It’s not how many houses you have, or how wealthy you are, but what you choose to do with your wealthy status and how you live your life.” This well help counter McCain’s counterattack’s on Obama about his wealth.
Just more change for the Mil-Indus complex.McCain also stoking the fire in Georgia will also bring smiles to the faces of arms merchants.
You know, somehow I just thought you couldn’t stay away from that. LOL.
Mitt’s company controls Clear Channel.
Clear Channel controls the message.
Increase in minimum wage hit McCain hard
OK, I’m enjoying the McCain house-counting saga waaaay too much. I’ve watched this one five times and it makes me laugh harder each time…best “houses” Youtube yet! (The one set to the Feist song, for those of you who’ve been surfing around…)

Bravo Zulu.
I noticed that as well but Norske’s a big boy and I figured he could hold his own.
Too many movies, I suppose.
Selling Nuclear Reactor tech to a bunch of countries we know don’t like Israel well I’m sure its very good foe GE stock which has been battered lately but this is bad.
We are friends with Israel we are friends with the Arab countries we should be encouraging them to work things out on Palestine.
Friends should not sell weapons to Israel and then sell Nuclear Tech to the Arabs it would be better not to have gotten involved.
I like it:)
I thought the whole dialog might be like one of these boxes, propped on a stick, with a string attached and breadcrumbs spread as Raven bait. It was like, how long until he marches toward the sound of the guns?
GE should not have a license over the public airwaves and be involved in the defense industry. They shapoe public opinion for war and then profit from it-something is radically wrong-including our arms sale policy
Your assuming the servants all have papers which in AZ s doubtful.
Also didn’t Mitt go all antiimmigrant and then was caught with illegals cutting his lawn he said he was unaware and would handle it then he was caught again with illegals cutting his lawn.
Yet Mitt is still anti Immigrant last I checked.
Finally Ralph is confronted by little old lady on the war of choice, Iraq

Cheney’s financial connection to Poppy Bush is via Halliburton, and its acquisition of Dresser Industries – which saved Carlyle and Bush untold billions on asbestos related liability claims – one of the largest of which was the World Trade Center – and asbestos-laced dinosaur, built by one David Rockefeller and owned by the Port Authority.
McCain Says Major Financiers Will Back His 2008 Bid
December 15, 2006
One of the most prominent on the list of finance committee co-chairmen is the head of the New York Stock Exchange, John Thain. Mr. Thain, whose title is CEO of NYSE Group, Inc., previously served as president and CEO of Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
A New Jersey-based investment banker deeply involved in fund-raising efforts for the 2004 Republican convention, Lewis Eisenberg, is signing on with Mr. McCain. Mr. Eisenberg is a former Goldman Sachs partner who served as chairman of the Port Authority board at the time of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
WHAT A COINCIDENCE!
It was Eisenberg who passed the $15 billion Asbestos Liability represented by the Twin Towers onto Larry Silverstein, the man who confessed publicly to having Building 7 “PULLED” by explosives – despite the fact that no plane struck it:
Rescuer 2: “Keep your eye on that building, it will be coming down soon.”

“To make our economy stronger and more competitive, America must reward, not punish, the efforts and dreams of entrepreneurs. Small business is the path of advancement, especially for women and minorities, so we must free small businesses from needless regulation and protect honest job-creators from junk lawsuits. (Applause.) Justice is distorted, and our economy is held back by irresponsible class-actions and frivolous asbestos claims — and I urge Congress to pass legal reforms this year.”
Now watch this
Stuck inside of nowhere with the memphis blues again.
Yeah but not his because they vote GOP
Agreed I think the news tv, radio, cable should be stand alone companies that and Murdock at Fox should lose his broadcast license its because of him that the 30%ers all think that Saddam helped Ossama.
News should inform people if you can’t do that then you should lose your license.
True the MSM covers for them so well.
Anyway, good to see you. Sometimes there are balloons to pop.
Back atcha Timber and Dragonfire
The Gulfport PD was holding a training exercise at the elementary school earlier this summer, unbeknownst to the neighborhood. Was standing outside with a smoke when I heard two shotgun blasts followed by small arms fire. Was halfway to the school before it dawned on me that I had no business goin’ over there.

“Limited” is a hell of a lot better than “none”. *smooch*
Agreed. Without the smooch. Over.
LOL. The morning programmer on my community radio station just said, “We’ve only got 4 1/2 more months of that awful singing group, Dick W and the Neocons. Here’s a tune for them, ‘Screw You, We’re From Texas’”
Oh, in true Ralph Reed patented saintedtood, implied he was asked to be a delegate to the Republican Convention. He’s done it so often, ya know, let a younger person have the privilege.
In other words, he going as just plain folk,
and btw he happens to be in the political mailings business. He almost sounds like a protection racket.
Sweet!
Caught the first little bit and *click*. WJ is the best (or worst) venue (depending on your viewpoint) for someone like him…….gets to spew lie upon lie with no real rebuttal. GAK!
# In 1998 Halliburton merged with Dresser Industries, which included Kellogg. Prescott Bush was a director of Dresser Industries, which is now part of Halliburton. Former United States president George H. W. Bush worked for Dresser Industries in several positions from 1948–1951, before he founded Zapata Corporation.
With the acquisition of Dresser Industries in 1998, the Kellogg-Brown & Root division (in 2002 renamed to KBR) was formed by merging Halliburton’s Brown & Root (acquired 1962) subsidiary and the M.W. Kellogg division of Dresser (which Dresser had merged with in 1988). KBR is a major international construction company, which is a highly volatile undertaking subject to wild fluctuations in revenue and profit. Asbestos-related litigation from the Kellogg acquisition caused the company to book more than US$4.0 billion in losses from 2002 through 2004.
As a result of the asbestos-related costs and staggering losses on the Barracuda Caratinga FPSO construction project based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Halliburton lost approximately $900 million U.S. a year from 2002 through 2004. A final non-appealable settlement in the asbestos case was reached in January 2005 which allowed Halliburton subsidiary KBR to exit Chapter 11 bankruptcy and returned the company to quarterly profitability. So, while Halliburton’s revenues have increased because of its contracts in the Middle East, its bottom line continues to suffer.[8]
At a meeting for investors and analysts in August 2004, a plan was outlined to divest the KBR division through a possible sale, spin-off or initial public offering. Analysts at Deutsche Bank value KBR at up to $2.15 billion, while others believe it could be worth closer to $3 billion by 2005. KBR became a separately listed company on 5 April 2007.

My bold I see ties to Bush nothing to Mitt. Also

No need to Destroy the twin towers when there is a deal in place that is non appealable although I think thats illegal or should be illegal.
Construction crews have removed asbestos from building before I don’t think the cost would have broken anyone.
I will admit that construction bids on asbestos are not my area of expertise but I do know that its possible to remove and has been done before.
Where does Mitt fit in what am I missing?
Slimy little worm. He just might see the Second Coming before anybody else; when Jesus comes down to put a foot up his ass.
yeah but doesn’t the alternative scare the hell out of you?
S’truth…….. but I am so bloody tired of disappointment and settling for the lesser of what could be.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
bingo, now we have to do what’s neccessary to make it so
Bush’s SOU speech calling for the elimination of frivolous asbestos-related law suits occurs in 2005 – and then, voila! Problem solved – final solution in the courts.
As you noted, the problem was not solved until 2005, while the arson occurred in September of 2001.
As for the cost to mitigate the asbestos liability represented by the WTC absent the arson that ocurred:
I didn’t claim Romney was connected directly to this – merely that Romney and Carlyle are joint venturers in enough investments to warrant 95,000 Google hits for Bain Capital and Carlyle Group.
If you consider how many wealthy corporations and individuals would have been negatively impacted by asbestos litigation for the coming decades, it’s not hard to see how they all would have been in favor of any plan to make their future liabilities disappear.
The number of people who know the truth is in the tens of thousands at this point, including every politician in DC. 9/11 was arson. Building 7 was abandoned in anticipation of a plane strike from the one that was shot down in Shanksville, leaving the co-conspirators with a major problem to resolve, which they did later that evening.
I didn’t claim Romney was connected directly to this – merely that Romney and Carlyle are joint venturers in enough investments to warrant 95,000 Google hits for Bain Capital and Carlyle Group.
If Mitt is the GOP VP then we have to focus on him not Bush. I think the Asbestos deal is a good area to research there seems to be dirt.
I as you have guessed am not sold on 9/11 was planned by Bush aside from that you have good info Welcome to the Lake where people feel free to disagree:)
although that’s the perception I don’t think it’s true, I believe the were in constant negotiation with real concession on the table before bush took office
