It’s also a preview of the main theme we’re going to hear come October, just in time for the election: liberals hate America, Democrats can’t be trusted to stand up for the country. In fact, they just oughta be slapped silly at every opportunity. Or perhaps worse.
So last night Zucker was on Fox’s Hannity & Colmes program, whining about how liberals all think conservatives are bad people — because evidently this somehow justifies making a film depicting liberals as bad people. And out of Sean Hannity’s mouth came this nugget of wisdom in response:
HANNITY: I think — I think they think we’re evil. You know, I mean, if you read, you know, the things — it’s funny because there is this double standard out there in both radio and television.
You know, if I were to say on my 530 radio stations or right here on the FOX News Channel half the stuff that liberals say about me, lies told on a regular basis — and I don’t really pay attention to it because I don’t care — I would be probably thrown off the air, targeted for boycotts.
Quoth the author of Deliver Us From Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism and Liberalism.
Quoth the guy who thinks it’s just peachy for right-wing rock stars to announce death wishes for liberal politicians from the stage.
Quoth the host who agrees when his guests compare Obama’s black church to the KKK.
Quoth the man who called Harry Reid a "propaganda minister for our enemies."
Well, I could go on all day, but you get the idea. Sean Hannity thinks liberals think he’s evil, though he’d have to go dig up some anonymous e-mails to prove the point (and we’re sure he will). Meanwhile he authors a book, and spends every one of his Fox broadcasts, declaring liberals evil.
Projection: Not just for theaters anymore. Indeed, as we’ll see this fall, it’s a concrete political strategy.

Hey Dave.
I’m a liberal and I don’t necessarily think Sean Hannity and his ilk are evil.
The fact is, I try to do my utmost to avoid thinking of him at all. When I am forced to think of him, I think of a small minded little man who acts like he’s still in grade school and whining that teacher made him share something with the other children.
And I don’t think he learned anything in kindergarten, much less all he needs to know.
Hannity sounds more and more like Stephen Colbert every single day.
Evil? No, because as one of the minor Greek philosophers said, “Just as a target is not created to be missed, the nature of evil does not exist”. (Boy that answer wouldn’t have played well at Saddleback).
However, mean, hateful and spiteful do seem to apply remarkably well.
Sean really gives a classic example of the “stupid or deceitful?” conundrum.
HANNITY: I think — I think they think we’re evil.
I think that you are evil Sean.
excuse me David, but are we talking about the President of NBC/Universal ?
I agree, with a lowercase “e,” capital “E” is for Bush, Cheney, and the like.
And I don’t think he learned anything in kindergarten, much less all he needs to know.
If God is all knowing then ignorance is evil and willful ignorance is the deliberate rejection of God. I think that I’m explaining St Augestine right.
The Lake challenges the mind to remember as well as learn.
Agreed Darth is Capital E Sean wishes he could join the big leagues.
But when the Devil weighted his soul the feather counter balance was heavier.
HANNITY: I think — I think they think we’re evil
THINK…. I KNOW they are evil
Why is Sean Hannity hurting America?
My mistake, corrected. It’s David Zucker.
Let me remove any doubt from Slantheads mind. Conservatives are evil. I can defend this position with half my brain tied behind my back.
HANNITY: I think — I think they think we’re evil.
I’m a liberal, and I have lots of principled conservative friends who I love dearly, and respect fully, even though we don’t agree on a few issues. The funny thing is, we agree on everything that matters.
However, I think SEAN HANNITY is fucking evil incarnate. When I see his face or hear his voice, I have nothing but disdain, outrage and anger for him.
s’okay.
David Zucker . . .now that is one rich little piggy, Club For Growth Fanboy
recall when he made video bashing the Iraq Study Group, wait for it . . .likening them to Hitler’s appeasers
Sean Hannity:
Of course you would, Sean. That’s because you’d be guilty of slander; whereas, when liberals says those things about you, they’re simply belaboring the obvious.
attack. Attack. ATTACK.
I haven’t watched faux news not for many years. I really neither wish to listen to or participate in this demonizing bull crap.
Hannity, Rush and Boortz are in it for the money. Do they reaaly care about misleading their audience? Nah, it’s all about the money and f**k the listeners if they are to stupid to believe them. Yeah, I think that is evil.
Is it evil to lie to a pastor in church? Is it more evil when the lie includes the cross?
This is the tamest example I could muster.
That must be a pretty rare POV in Oklahoma, what are you, so kinda maverick? “g”
That was a reply to Oilfieldguy @ 13.
nah, nah,,nanahna your more evil than I am, nah, nah, nanahna
I get into a lot of fights, but honestly I am the instigator most of the time. I usually start off by calling them bad Americans, which rocks them on their heels. They never recover while I just laugh and mock, hoping it will lead to a pugilistic event.
I’m into that sorta thing.
Anybody here live in Mew York City? I’ll be spending a couple of days there next month.
That is foolish. Its like thinking of animals as good or evil. They are animals. Same for goopers and wingnuts, they are what they are, incapable of anything else.
A dung beetle has no option but to roll dung into balls and eat it. And that brings us to Hannity…
Or, more often, merely citing the actual record of what he’s said on air or in print.
I like that – dung beetle
David, you know that nobody is as funny as Mallard :) Nice post !
I am privileged to say that I have never in my life watched a news show on Faux and I’m a much better person for it.
“I don’t really pay attention to it because I don’t care — so let me talk about it for another half-hour or so before I pick it up again tomorrow.”
Interesting that OK has a Dem governor. My sister is a rabid Republican and I know that isn’t unusual. Of course, I’m certain a Dem politician in Oklahoma is a lot more conservative than elsewhere.
I listened to Hannity once or twice and thought he was an arrogant loudmouthed know nothing.
I have seen nothing to change my mind.
I don’t really give a shit what he thinks about anything.
Fortunately- the only people who listen to him are those who have terminal gooperitis- so he really changes nothing.
I might be up there too on business… you can contact me on facebook…. right now no dates…
When Hannity did a segment on his Sunday show titled “Enemies of the State” (then retitled “Enemies of the Week”) and put up a picture of dictators and autocrats on the right of the screen versus Hollywood actors on the left of the screen, I sure as heck thought that was a pretty damn evil thing to do.
However, I don’t think he’s “evil” so much as I think he’s an idiot asshole.
Actually, dung beetles watch Hannity and say, “Now that is disgusting!”
Oh, what an image! LOL
great cartoon material.
whenever something bad happens to Republicans (Ney goes to jail, DeLay leaves Congress, Irving indicted, 11/6/6), I take perverse pleasure in turning the channel to Fox – extra yummy :D
Do they try to blame it on the demos?
I assume that they have not always been this crazy but I just never did watch. And you are really mean s/
Which brings us back to the wisdom of Stephen Colbert: “Reality has a well-known liberal bias.”
actually no – the perverse pleasure part is watching the “big lipped blondes” reading actual straight copy :D
although hope everyone saw David Brooks blame ‘the librul media’ for When Maverick’s Go Bad
When you lie and mislead people to vote against their self interest, in order for you to make money, that’s evil.
crikey!
foothillsmike, my 41 was in response to you
Slanthead is a manichean troglodyte and they’re not conservatives

And the point is….?
Every single one of us, the devil inside. No one is pure as the driven snow. But they give into it, they luxuriate in it, and try to pretend it’s for the greater good.
They are evil. Case closed.
That makes me so angry ! Think of the good that much money would do right here in the “homeland.” Health care (especially for children), schools, roads, bridges etc. I just can’t hardly stand this – January is coming but not soon enough. I hope Obama demands to know where that money is.
In a case in which the punishment fits the crime, goopers attending their annual borathon convention will be forced to listen to Lieberweasel…I LOVE it!
Pentagon is a black hole for money. Much shit is funded by disappeared money
Harriet: I don’t even know what the sides are in the culture war.

Well I DO hate America. This is a country founded on theft, rape and genocide. It has spread these practices world wide.
Relentlesly.
It’s called “U.S. Foreign Policy.”
Please tell me why I shouldn’t hate America.
Hannity: “Good is when we slander you. Evil is when you slander us.”
Sean who?
On a related note, Slanthead is “a sophistical rhetorician inebriated with the exuberance of his own verbosity” who will never say one word about this

Who the heck is Rosie O’Connell? It looked like Rosie O’Donnell, but the voice and the text clearly said “O’Connell”.
I don’t think conservatives are evil. I don’t think Sean and Rush are conservative, either. I just know he (and Rush) aren’t under a $500MM contract to tell the truth. The truth is cheap for those willing to confront it. To convince people that eating shit is good for them….that costs a lot of money. And that is evil.
Evil. Go ahead and list your definitions of evil, and they all fit right in. Torture, Katrina, Mercenaries, Heath care – straight down the line on the evil checklist.
Evil.
Mike Stark used to call up Hannity and argue with him. It’s a skill that I don’t share. But even if you get though and make a point, Hannity always controls the box. When he shut you down technically with a microphone control he brow beats people and uses bullying debate tactics most of us don’t confront in our daily lives.
Hannity also tries to use the anger that people feel toward him. He has a Hannity hotline where liberals can call up and shout at him. He is the kind of verbal bully who even knows how to use attacks against himself in his “favor”.
Hannity, like Chris Matthews, doesn’t see himself as evil. “People who know me, know I’m a good guy!” Like a member of the Mafia who goes to Church on Sunday after killing a competitor, he doesn’t see what he does as bad for the country. Yet, Hannity and Limbaugh have done more than anyone to turn good Americans against each other.
One of the greatest tricks that the right-wing talk radio hosts use is our own misunderstanding of the 1st amendment against us.
I always remind people that Hannity is speaking on commercially supported broadcast radio using a license given to his station by the public. He has no “right” to the platform. We are not the government. We can object to what he says and educate the only people who have any power over him, his advertisers. When we do that, it’s not to threaten a boycott, it’s to educate the advertisers who actually state on their web pages what they do and don’t value. Now some people will say that those mission and value statements are just window dressing, that all they care about is making money. Fine, but I say hold them to their words.
In a world of branding, to associate your brand with someone is a big deal, and when that person doesn’t uphold the brand name well then they might not deserve the money they are making.
Michael Vick probably delivered a lot of value to Nike, but I think that everyone will understand why they didn’t stand by him.
I don’t believe we think he’s evil at all. We think he’s STUPID!
Sorry, conservatives ARE evil.
