There shall be no religious test for any public office, but that doesn’t stop the media from insisting on one. This kind of charade should be illegal.

I got to remind you of Obama’s position on this,

Obama went on his celebrity tour and spoke with the troops and the “generals on the ground”. (Even when in an aircraft) as far as McCain is concerned.

McCain was thumping his militaristic abilities for a while and how he listens to the Generals on the ground like GW.

Well on the Celeb Tour, Obama made a very, very real Commander in Chief comment that set McCain back at least 30 years in his experience card that he plays. When Obama said, ” I will listen to all my advisors that include generals and the joint chiefs of staff. Yet ultimately as President your are the Commander in Chief and the decision lays there”.

Generals would like to retain whatever authority and allowances they can have. But the Commander in chief (the President) has ultimate control because of the many other factors around this world the President is also responsible. The President provides the mission and the gGenerals carry it out, not the other way around.

Point is that GW and McCain sell it that the Generals are in charge and naturally, they have a scape goat when things go awry.

This is why when Bush decided to appoint a Iraq War Czar that would effectively do his job of managing the troops. This was the Scappe Goat set up. This guy will never get appreciation for good work. Only if things go bad.
You dig…………..

Kay- in Maine,
no question who the intellectual is but America is an illiterate country.
Let’s be honest…any intelligent human looking at Bush in 2000 knew he shouldn’t be leading a boy scout car wash.

This country is DUMB. Yeah there are pockets of smart people…we like to think FDL is part of that, but honestly, what explains the tie in the national polls? Working people can have their chain yanked whenever Bush co wants to do it, and the cast of Deliverance will vote for McSame McBush, McInsane, Capt Queeuug, whomever.

it’s emotional- not intellectual.. Obama can move the crowd ..he didn’t go into the evening thinking he had to do that,,,,but McCaine knew what the game was and he played it and Rick Warren let McCain do whatever he wanted and he won the night…and if this happens close to the election , McCain will win. to re-coin the phrase:
IT’S THE EMOTIONS, STUPID

the words of death are “nuance” - -america isn’t nuanced…only the rich are

(not you Kay, I’m just making the play)

I think this was rigged to some extent in favour of McCain, but Obama came across more thoughtful and responsive to the questions. He didn’t give the pandering answers, but for the undecided, that’s probably a good thing. For the decided, well, they’ve already decided. Any person with any brains, listening to McCain’s response concerning the Supreme Court, will have shuddered and thought, can’t let this guy win, just can’t. Especially compared to Obama’s answer on the same question.

It would be useful to find a way to spark a McCain Mutiny within the Republican base once the nominations are official.

Johnny McTeleprompter won over the neck drooling knuckledragging retards of our nation. Big difference. Those who are adult and who can comprehend sentences are the ones who know Barack Obama did a better job.

Besides, Johnny didn’t mention religion much tonight. Bah hahahahahahahaha! Love that.

I’m not kidding.
McCain did his act. his war stories, his rally around the flag let’s go to war for Georgia, let’s bow down to Gen Petraeus “our greatest military leader” ( for G Washington or Einsenhower)..am I kidding? NO
McCainis a carnival act–”can I tell you one more story?”

yeah, he probably heard the questions..he released a press statement right before the forum happened

I agree with the others here who didn’t think McCain honesty answered the questions but he won the night hands down…it was a smack down..

Tonight you saw the seeds of Obama’s defeat and it pains me greatly to admit it….I despise McCain’s duplicity
