IMHO, Obama was struggling pitifully for the first half hour. Then he found his voice midway and finished fairly well. Nevertheless, IMHO it was a net loss for Obama, who is superb with prepared material and walked in there unprepared for obvious questions, like “What is your position on abortion?” Why did anyone think he could wing it?

I could only watch McCain for about eight minutes, but he seemed prepared for the obvious questions that were thrown at him.

Many people claim that McCain got the questions in advance. Perhaps so, but it was Obama who said that he had prepared for one of the questions. So perhaps he got some in advance too.

I woke up in the middle of the night to the welcome sound of rain, and it’s still gray and cloudy. The talking hairdo that gives us the weather on the local morning babble-fest says we may get rain again today, so my fingers are crossed as well. Good luck!

We had 2.4″ earlier in the week….nice and gentle for soak-in; would love to see same or more.

We’ve probably had more rain in the last 3 weeks than we’ve had in the prior 3 months or more. We’re still behind, but it seems that we’re ALWAYS behind this time of year. The jasmine, which had started to look “wintery” has put on an explosion of new growth, and the hydrangea celebrated with a new bloom.

Confederate or Carolina? Have laid a few slabs of St. Augustine recently……would be nice not to have to water for a day or two.

Confederate. Hope your water bill is spared watering in new grass. I was on the verge of setting a sprinkler by the asparagus bed, but that’s gotten a new lease on life too.

Finally bit the bullet and got the old deck replaced this spring; have planted three Confed. to run up pilings onto railings……can’t wait for bloom time next year. :-)
