Day before yesterday Obama was leading in VA, OH and NV; reversed today thanks to ‘Country First.’ Problem for McCain is that Sakaashvili pulled the trigger too soon. Should have waited another six weeks. Between now and November the strategic weakness of the United States in that part of the world will be apparent to everyone who can still afford to pay his or her cable bill. At that point they will face the choice whether they want to have a draft (not too many volunteers this time out). Not to mention that if the US gets too feisty, the Chinese are likely to send us a letter right after the Games reminding us how much we owe them.</p> <p>I’m hoping Obama lays low on this one.
