Oh look, it is just one of 8 (or 9) houses, the one where they entertain his journalist base. Note the Barbecue Area!
And then there is their property in Phoenix:
Sen. John McCain and his wife, Cindy, are plunking down $4.66 million for a luxury condo in a high-end area of Phoenix.
McCain and his wife are in the process of selling their estate in north-central Phoenix. Cindy McCain, the daughter of beer wholesaler Jim Hensley, grew up in the seven-bedroom, 11,000-square-foot home on 2 acres.
Of course there’s this too:
another condo in Arlington, Va., assessed at about $850,000.
And of course, there’s the condo in LaJolla, CA that the tax was not paid on.
And then there is this:
$700,000 for a 1,900-square foot, three-bedroom loft condo for her then-22-year-old daughter Meghan McCain, who was moving back to Phoenix after graduating from New York’s Columbia University.
My parents shook my hand and bought me a $200 suit after I graduated from a State School.
But, Meghan ultimately remembered to stay bought:
Meghan, a self-described "total daddy’s girl," registered as a Republican as a Father’s Day gift last month.
Anyone taking odds that Meghan is on the pill and is pro-choice nonetheless?
I showed my Republican parents and stayed a Democrat. If only they had thrown in a second suit.
But Barack Obama went to see his family in Hawaii, the elitist!

Long live Zed.
I think this is already been invented

Morning all :)
I wish I had several houses, must be nice..lol
Completely OT and I probably missed this yesterday, but WHY is the SS/HLS setting up their own counter-intelligence agency???
So there’ll be enough of them to protect all of bush 3.0’s houses?
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Friedman and Judson this morning. MoDo says “Yes, She Can,” and tells us Hillary Clinton feels no guilt about encouraging her supporters to mess up Barack Obama’s big moment, thus undermining his odds of beating John McCain. Mr. Friedman’s column is titled “Eight Strikes and You’re Out.” He points out that John McCain has a perfect record on a renewable energy bill. He has missed all eight votes over the last year — which effectively counts as a no vote each time. Of course, the oil execs who shoveled all that money into his campaign are pleased… Ms. Judson writes about “Optimism in Evolution,” and says studying evolution means that when we encounter something in nature that is complicated or mysterious, we don’t have to shrug our shoulders in bewilderment.

The coffee and tea are ready, and the Thomas’ English muffins are hot and crispy out of the toaster. We’re getting another day of rain and cooler temperatures and are VERY pleased about that. Have a great day.
No rain yesterday but it started early this morning and coming down nicely now. More, please. Love not having to water the potted stuff and new sod recently placed. :-)))
The asparagus patch is looking much happier, and the jasmine too. Glad you’re getting rain too.
Happy asparagus is always a “good thing”. *g*

Here’s an article (via pro publica) you might be interested in about Sonia Pitt, the twit who was fired from MN DOT after the bridge collapse and then hired by DHS.
This comment from the piece is a real *tell*:
“The hiring was a mistake of one kind or another,” said Ellen Howe, a TSA spokeswoman. Well, DUH!

The Times has an editorial this morning about Mukasey and his failings as AG.
Apparently before the bombs fell and tanks rolled into Georgia there was a coordinated cyberattack. The thing that made me go “hmmmmmm…” was this:
This would be really funny any other time……
‘the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the massive federal agency has taken a new step to beef up its vetting of potential hires.
From now on, more job candidates will have their backgrounds searched on Google.’
Yeah, didya get that bit about her $90,000./year job was apparently considered too low a level to do a real (if ya consider teh google “real”) background search? Dog save us all from these forkin’ idjits!
morning!
I’m elitistly going to have breakfast on the lanai, where I will watch the butter get all melty on that English Muffin and drink mango juice.

Good Morning, McCain is mumbling on Morning Edition. Sounds like he had to get early or didn’t go to bed….”no negative messages in my campaign.” Don’t believe we need a negative message. Ob. gave good deals to the energy companies. Keeps interrupting the interviewer.
Thank you…no question what they think.
O/T–
Related to that, Jackie–has anyone seen this?
Oh…duh…completely missed your post. My bad.
There are *some* advantages of having the weather knock out sat reception…….totally removes the temptation of checking to see what the raving lunies are making lies about today. :-)
Holbrooke’s a complete trainwreck on Georgia on WJ.
Right….the unnerving thing also is the thought we would have to listen to him for 4 more years. I am one of the “oldies” around here, so I always lament my agist thoughts. That man is old and not very sharp. Don’t tell anyone I said that!
Chalk up a name against GMO propagation, maybe a warning to be taken seriously, if it is not too late.

I don’t trust him anymore, no specific reason but, I don’t trust him
Right wingers continue to rewrite definitions. They’ve made the word ‘liberal’ out to be a Satanic cult, when we all know ‘republican’ is truly the correct answer/definition. Now they’re making the word ‘elitist’ out to be the poor/middle class/anyone making $4 million or less.
We can’t let these uneducated fools continue to have control over Merriam-Webster.
Hmmm, unusual.
Although I liked the bit about asking Israel to let the US know when they do launch an attack…
‘The American administration has rejected an Israeli request for military equipment and support that would improve Israel’s ability to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.
A report published last week by the Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) states that military strikes are unlikely to destroy Iran’s centrifuge program for enriching uranium.’
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1010938.html
Holbrooke’s a D neocon.
Just heard on CNN there’s lots of looting going on in Georgia. Huh, in Georgie’s illegal invasion/occupation/genocide, looting also happened right off. Let me guess!….George Bush will be upset with what has transpired today in Georgia by the Russians and others? Asshole.
Can you stand another lecture from Mr. Know-nothing, our voice of authority? Cheeez
Another hmmmmm,
‘Israel’s defense minister says the regime has not received approval from the US to carry out a strike against Iran’s nuclear sites.
“The Americans are not ready to allow us to attack Iran,” Ehud Barak told army radio on Wednesday.’
http://www.presstv.ir/detail.a…..=351020101
Exactly, RevBev. He’ll act like he’s the King of Diplomacy when we all know the aggression the Russians are participating in is exactly what ole Georgie did! How soon the Asshole forgets.
And all the morning news, so far, is sports….So it goes.
Has Friedman given up on penning strategy for Irak and taken up writing about the foibles of his rich buddies? Or perhaps beginning to suck up to a prospective Dem administration after 8 years cheerleading for the neocons.
I think I’ve read this post somewhere else…
Morning pups. I guess it’s too early to talk about the murder of the Chinese immigrant mistakenly detained in our Homeland Security gulag. What a way to start the day!
As to the seven houses: I spent last weekend at Aspen with (mainly) Democrats in that income bracket. Nice life if you can get it. A couple of Republicans at the party. Decent people, but God how they’ve swallowed the Kool-aid. Had a long discussion with a very nice person who swore that Mrs Plame was actually a traitor, and that Joe Wilson wasn’t any better. They get their news from something called ‘True Teevee’ which I think plays in Texas, which is where they are from.
It’s just pure selfishness. They ought to rename the Republican Party the Selfish Party. It would be true to their creed.
Meet the Feebles, indeed.
