The Obama strategy of linking McSame to Big Oil is smart. Just ask David Davis (R-TN).
Being linked to "big oil" turned into a big problem for Tennessee Republican freshman Rep. David Davis, who became the first congressman from that state to lose in a primary in more than four decades.
Johnson City Mayor Phil Roe beat Davis by a 500-vote margin Thursday in the solidly Republican 1st District in the northeastern corner of the state.
Roe’s victory came after a bruising campaign in which he accused Davis of selling out to "big oil."
It amazes me that McSame keeps bragging about his chumminess with "oil executives," but I hope he keeps it up. If it’s poisonous to Republicans in Tennessee, how do you think the country will respond to this?
The campaign video is via DWT, where there’s lots more on Davis getting his ass handed to him.

Oh Yeah! Keep it coming!
One more down. Meanwhile in Mo. still another repig state rep got caught with his pants firmly down around his ankles-having sex with a 14 year old girl(and getting caught by her mother-his “girlfriend”-who according to the story, did not turn him in) altho he is married w 2 kids-the kicker is that mr hypocrisy got the Mo sex crimes laws toughened up last year. What is it with the repigs? The dems got caught years ago with their fingers in the till, but the repigs-while some do get caught taking money(abramoff will still be going on in 2009-maybe a bigger push tho)most seem to just want to have sex with both boys and girls(minors all) What is it about the “family values” crowd? Does it rot their brains or what?
Link please.

Come 4 November Take. No. Prisoners.
Sound card’s dead. *sob*
Via Froomkin, the CIA agents involved in the Habbush letter as cited in Suskind supposedly denied their involvement and this led to the White House issuing a bunch of non-denial denials. Unfortunately, Suskind had the tapes:
Yep, that sounds like a denial to me.
Tony Montana – “well joo stupid fuck, look at joo now !”
Thanks. To a “t.”

I wondered a while back when the little folks who’ve been hoarding copies of stuff were gonna start coming out with it. Looks as if some folks have started opening up. This could get interesting, particularly after January.
Please pardon the o/t (was waiting to see if there would be a post on subject) -
Did anyone notice the apparent discrepancy in this wapoo article? So, is bush 3.0 *really* returning the bundled money or only mailing letters telling contributors they can get their donation back if they want it? Inquiring minds………….
“Sen. John McCain’s campaign is returning about $50,000 raised by a Florida oil executive because some of the funds were collected by a foreign national and came from donors who may not support the candidate, aides said yesterday.
“We thought it was an issue that there were people giving to the campaign who had no intention of supporting or voting for John McCain,” said Brian Rogers, a campaign spokesman. “So we thought it was an appropriate measure at this point.”
…………
Rogers said the campaign wrote to donors whose checks Sargeant bundled, “reminding them of the campaign finance law and providing some information as to how to get a refund if that’s what they desire.”…..

Note: AP confirmed with similar wording on notification letters.
I don’t comment on other blogs but if there are any pups who do (especially the blogs who’ve been hitting these donation stories hard), please feel free to raise this question if it seems appropriate.
Also late to the party but it is good to see that slurs don’t always work and that Steve Cohen beat Nikki Tinker in the Tennessee primary.
Indeed.
integrity?
Tinker, trailing, sold hers. Pie!
Did everyone see how well the BOMB is doing? Getting close to $100,000. WOW
hmmmm. isn’t that blatantly inside-out, backwards, illogical, nonsensical, and unworkable?
ahhhhhhhh. now i get it.
no wonder mccaint’s so diligent at pretending he hasn’t a clue what he’s saying in those ‘faux-campain-speechers’ he keeps muttering his way thru.
senile pretending to be senile becomes….. him.
i wanna see a utoob wit the whole crowd giving him the secret decoder signal.
mebbe a big banner. a mariachi band perhaps. buzzy, stuttering microphones. a string of little firecrackers, providing they are in season, of course.
That’s a given. *g*
would love to see a lexis-nexis on Leah Daughtry and Nikki Stinker
yes, it is really a stretch, but can’t let go of all that righteous xtian hate Daughtry authorized – jes sayin’
BTW I saw this via TPM but it is a really interesting piece on McCain from an Arizona perspective and recounts various stories about the man, his character, and his political career.

You absolutely certain that reporter didn’t see “Visualize Whirled Peas?”
i couldn’t read any more. gag reflex kicked in…
Sorry, my 22/23 refer to Hugh’s link at 20!
hey – in line with this story, are the extractionist ho’s still occupying the Capitol ???
look for seepage at the fault lines.
The quote from the article that I love is: ”John McCain is the Eddie Haskell of politics.”
I couldn’t get that far. I’ll be stronger after I have somethin’ to eat, I think. Poor Eddie Haskell’s image could take a thumpin’, if he weren’t such a good good boy. Yikes. Who reads this stuff, besides us?!
Mebbe John’s mom wrote it?
