Elizabeth and family in particular were certainly most affected, but the Democratic party and its supporters were as well. Expecting perfection from a candidate is ridiculous, but expecting a viable candidate isn’t. Edwards wasn’t a viable candidate once he denied the affair in public.</p> Edwards and Hunter having an affair is their own business, except that it affects other people.
