With Republicans, especially Chimpy, it’s always ‘do as I say, not as I do.’
Case in point, here's a sample of the finger-wagging lecture the Decider is going to deliver at the Olympics (note: my links added for illustrative purposes).
“We speak out for a free press, freedom of assembly, and labor rights not to antagonize China’s leaders but because trusting its people with greater freedom is the only way for China to develop its full potential.”
Is he serious with this crap? Whoever wrote this speech has a brilliant future with "The Onion."
“The United States believes the people of China deserve the fundamental liberty that is the natural right of all human beings…So America stands in firm opposition to China's detention of political dissidents, human rights advocates, and religious activists.”
I may throw up.

Will somebody please get a hook?
Condi made him do it, or she wouldn’t let him go to the games.
Sad thing is, Condi probably wrote the speech and believes every word.
Pitiful what we have to use to get a laugh these days. I had to laugh when I heard this one; then I remembered they weren’t trying to make a joke. Sadly, I guess the Prez still doesn’t know he has lost all credibility and no longer has any moral authority to draw on.
excuse me, but that would be China - where Wal Mart employees belong to a union you ass
and oh, by all means, let’s give the WTO everything they want
If anyone is interested, Dana Milbank is over at the WaPo chat, still defending his unquotable quote.
Believe!
“Irony is, like, so dead.”
Gotta linky?

I’m not one to gossip . . .but my Stanford source; deephoover, says the former Provost will not be invited back -
Those are things that the Preznit never will know.
In case you do barf…here’s a bag and wet wash cloth.
Ha! I linked to one of those I’m Number One photos earlier in a comment.
I love metaphors. (And, great minds.)
There’s no way that Condi was going back there after lining up that sweet job as a hostess at the Bush Presidential Library/AMusement Park.
Hostess? Isn’t that a little condescending? /ss
She’ll be playing the piano and holding court.
Hoover even took Victor Davis Wingnut. Ouch.
This mental paraplegic is gunna speak for our country until January of 2009…I wish there were a God ‘cuz then we’d have a snowball’s chance in a hot place of bein’ saved, now, well not so much…I don’t like the odds…sheesh!!
How long does the stench of fascism linger over the sick body of a democracy? Maybe we ask the Germans?
actually the proverebial straw breaking the dromedary’s back - was the disclosure of the WH torture planning meetings - nobody wants that in the Tower
Geishas are traditionally skilled in classical music.
Title for yet another political book…Geishas and Other Whores: Women Who Need To Give Too Much?
I checked the link and he still won’t admit that he mangled the quote.
Well, saying that Wal-Mart employees in China belong to a union, isn’t really saying much as it is a state sanctioned union.
Not sure what the US equivalent would be but think it would be when there are two competing unions and the workers are pushed into the union favored by management.
The workers are not going to come out very far ahead in those deals.
Meanwhile the Labor department continues to rewrite rules in secret to drastically reduce workplace standards
I’ve never expected anything less. After all, Elaine Chao is the
beardwife of the senior senator from Big Bidness.LOL Houston, we have a winner.
Here’s some good news ~ congratulations FDL for 60,000,000 site visits!

So much for moral superiority!
See Uighurs, where Bush policy meets Mainland Chinese interrogaters. And then another failed exit strategy.
Oh, God. I thought that was what I heard then thought I must be wrong.
I guess it was all too much while he was also trying to mumble about that “huuuuuunta” problem. I once heard J. Bond say, after Katrina and Barb’s remark about “those People” being better off, that that woman should be Gagged….Now, we are all saying the same thing about her idiot son. My friend said it must be that Barb never talked to the boy. More embarassment for us on the world stage.
Can’t wait for the Chinese response to King George’s exhortations. Should be an interesting slap fight.
“Bush Admonishes China Not To Act Like Bush Administration”
Why is Bush saying this? Does he still think he’s up for re-election?
Typical insanity from being in a bubble for extended periods…

I feel Bush doesn’t have much heart in his little display for the Reich-wingers. He knows that China holds a lot of capital keeping the USA afloat and he’s like saying something for effect at home but saying something else to the Chinese leadership.
If he goes too far though, the Chinese might bite back where it hurts. Saving face!
