Rev, Sebelius is DLC. Just thought you should know since you mentioned all those other folks as deal breakers and excluded her from the list. She is featured quite prominently on the DLC website as one of their rising stars.

Wesley Clark would be a strong VP. Has much more military and foreign policy experience than McDunce. Also graduated first in his class at West Point and is a Rhodes Scholar. He wouldn’t tolerate any of McDunce’s crap concerning patriotism and experience!

I will go out on a limb and give *my* prediction for Obama’s choice…

… but first, for some context: Obama’s electoral college strategy is obvious. He needs to keep Kerry’s 252 votes and gain at least 18 more. Iowa is in the bag (7) and the brilliant selection of Denver as the convention site gives him a great chance at Colorado (9). That’s 16, so *any* additional state will suffice.

Now look at the polls. Obama has great chances in New Mexico, Nevada, and the northern tier of the West. Clearly, a Western strategy looks like a good bet. Is there a popular Western governor that can bring along one of these states, or more, and help balance the ticket?

Yes, and that’s why I predict Montana governor Brian Schweitzer will be our next Vice President. He’s funny, good with one-liners, and popular. He also speaks Arabic.

You read it here first. :-)

I obviously am not an expert on Sebelius (didn’t know the Ohio connection) but I know some very progressive people in Kansas who seem quite pleased with her. And anyone who can win in a conservative “red” state as a progressive is on the right track.

Unlike Bayh who wins in a state that has gone for the Republican presidential candidate in every election but one since 1936. Bayh wins by being a Republican 9/10 of the time except when he’s exploring presidential waters then he’ll half-heartedly vote for a few progressive bills.
