This spurs a question I would like someone in the press to ask over energy.

There has been absolutely no energy policy that secures Americas future for along time since President Carter articulated his oil independence policy. That since Reagan, energy policy has been like short term (variable rates). With all three branchs of Gov’t control in the hands of one party for the most. That party now wants to reinvent another short term (fix) that leaves America’s national security on energy suspect.

Question;
How does anyone take corrective action and how does the American electorate make effective action on energy policy when we know nothing for sure of the V.P. Cheney’s secret Energy Policy that was set in secret meeting and what we do know of the policy is that Kenneth Lay of ENRON was one of the main policy participants. So how does one take corrective action on an energy policy that is still kept secret from them?

Good Morning Blue Texan and Firedogs,

had to change up my usual morning routine today and as a result I’ve had about an hour of TV snooze - (59.5 minutes longer than normal)

Here come the Swiftboaters - MSNBC gave Corsi at least 10 concern troll minutes where Newsdesk Barbie questioned the veracity of his crap - with the requisite “response” from DNC Spokeswoman - who of course failed to call Barbie out for having him on in the first place - and dismissed it all as “silly”.
the telling moment came when ol Barbie was clearly frustrated with DNC spokeswoman - “But, but aren’t you going to answer these charges ?!?!” 3 or 4 times

Blue Tex - hope the AC is humming along nicely for you and yours.

I had meant to refer to Badwater’s comment at 7 and was speaking in general terms, about the outcomes of the “flip flop campaign” against Kerry. I think I agree with eCahn @ 8. Yesterday, on I saw the talking heads on Hardball reach consensus that flip-flopping is now acceptable, but you have to do it first. In their book, McCain was okay, because he changed his stand ASAP (regardless of the reason), whereas Obama was wrong because his shift came second.

Anyway, I wasn’t disagreeing with your point and agree that the proximity of the big oil contributions to McCain’s urgent desire to do something to help commuters should be emphasized.

Out the door…from the previous post, I do conclude this whole topic of introducing/doing “change” is fraught with j’ne sais quoi. Let the chips fall…. ;)

It’s not a flip-flop based on “facts.” It’s a flip-flop based on crass political/financial calculations.

There has been a lot of talk (justified) about McCain being in the pocket of big oil but little about his lies regarding nuclear power and his desire to build 45 nuclear plants. Just last week there was an underreported story of a nuclear sub leaking all over the pacific. There have been other problems with USN ships. and then there is the matter of frances safety recordhttp://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/0,1518,568467,00.html
