See, I tend to agree. Hillary can bring the votes and the experience (well, she talks like it and has been around far longer than BO). I can’t think of anyone who can bring those votes, and I think we’re all being naive if we don’t realize that Obama can go down in flames just as fast at Kerry did. The crawl through the right and the independents is so iffy…..questions about his experience as an attorney, about who is really backing him (i.e., how did he actually get to Harvard and who paid for/supported that), and so forth. Too many Dems talking about not voting. Though someone today recommended Howard Dean, and while the right hates him, I think he’s pretty cool…….I’d be more likely to happily pull that lever if he were on the ticket. Bayh, not so much.

I have to tell you guys what I did today. I scared myself witless. I was at Target shopping for new dishes. I witnessed a mother haul off and smack a child in the mouth. The girl was probably around 12 or 14. She almost feel on the floor and started to cry. The horrid mother then said, “I don’t know what you think you problem is”. Then I said, “I don’t know what YOU think your problem is lady.” Then she comes at me wagging her finger and saying that it wasn’t my business. I told her it was my business and every body else’s when a child is being abused and that she was a bad parent. Then I turned and walked away. My knees were knocking. I thought it was important that the kid knew someone witnessed a crime.

I find it hard to believe that the MSM would give a care about Elizabeth, if this story had legs (sorry, bad pun)

The National Enquirer did a story on a videographer from the Edwards campaign who had a baby in February. Rumors were spread last fall that Edwards had an affair with her, which he adamantly denied. The woman said the baby was Andrew Young’s – he was Edwards’ finance chair. Young admitted it was his, but the press is after Edwards about it. To me it appears to be straight out of Rove’s playbook.

I do think that it was done first to discredit the presidential candidate Edwards, and later the possible vice-presidential candidate. Sadly, it looks like it has worked.

An ineffective and politically emasculated President Obama with solid Democratic Majorities in both houses would be worse than a McCrazy election facing those same Democratic majorities… can you remember Jimmi Carter, I thought you could…he’s that really nice man with all those good intensions who was an absolute disaster as a President.

No, if Obama doesn’t choose a solid and politically effective VP it’s a sign he is poised to bring us back to the “radical center” of the Jimmi Carter legacy.

I am very okay with speaking truth to John McCain’s squishy family values, but I think there is a high road, of sorts. Trashing Mrs. McCain seems counterproductive to me. I know she almost invites it because of the way she looks, but I’d rather that we be the bigger side. You know? The child she brought back from Bangladesh, according to the Newsweek article, needed health care and couldn’t get it. She brought two girls back and a friend adopted the other child. Could all be fluff. I still think we can take the high road where we can.

Rove=trash accused McCain in the 2000 campaign in SC, I think, of fathering a black child…..a smear against his Bangladeshi daughter, who is now 8 years older and able to read the news. It was an ugly smear. I’d hope that FDL wouldn’t contribute to such nonsense. The USA now has so many adopted children from all over the world. I’d like us to respect them as Americans and not define them by color, for god’s sake. McCain is running a nasty campaign. Some in the MSM thinks he may not be in on it. He is totally in on it. He is willing to do anything to win. He lied, blatantly, to George Stephanopoulos about Obama’s motives. I would, however, leave his wife out of this. It’s clumsy and stupid and makes us look bad.

I’m really sad about the Edwards story. I beat the drum for Edwards and gave money to his campaign. I thought he had the best ideas out there.
But this story is not going to go away unless Edwards does something. It may just simmer on the back burner but unless he stays in seclusion for the rest of his life the ankle biters will be there every time he shows his face in public.
If it’s true, he needs to admit it. If it isn’t true, he needs to tell what the real story is. Was he there? If not, where was he? If he was there, why was he there?
Karl Rove’s purported part in this is totally irrelevant. If he is “behind” any part of it he’s gotten his money’s worth and John Edwards not stepping up to the plate will continue to pay dividends for Rove.
The only thing that i don’t get is why the Enquirer didn’t get photos, unless they were lying. If they were lying, Edwards can nail them in a box and collect millions. So, what’s up John? Do something.
