since Miers is an attorney, the court can take actions to refer her to the bar and she could definitely be disbarred for failing to comply, no matter what Mukasey does.

thanks for the link - i may try to give a listen to mukasey’s speech as i imagine the Rs on the house armed services committee will be reading it as their playbook.

the Administration’s strategy, the David Addington strategy, is simply to act like Boumediene doesn’t exist until someone or something comes along and forces them to act otherwise.

I have said this for quite some time, that no court ruling means anything at all until congress uses it’s power, they must jail and impeach

otherwise the administration will continue to say;

“yea, I heard, so what?”

it was as if the SCOTUS had not ruled in Boumediene, or had ruled wrongly and it was now up to congress to “fix” it as congress has done with FISA and the MCA.

This is in keeping with Mukasey’s speech at the America Enterprise Institute earlier this month calling on Congress to restrict detainee rights. This is the one that sparked Leahy to say it wasn’t ging to happen.

Oooooh, tangent thought - anyone ever seen those “red vs blue” videos on youtube?

They take characters from “Halo” and add funny dialogue.

I’m thinking Frances dialogue with McCain’s image….

And Stephen Colbert even has a “green room challenge” going right now, a contest to see who can come up with a way to make John McCain interesting and turn it into a video.

Combine the two…
