I’ve seen several Republicans for Voldemort in Berkeley but no Sauron. You’d think it would be out there somewhere.

I think Andrea Mitchell is ‘faking it’ to ‘prove’ her journalistic ethics are intact. It’s an art she’s been forced to perfect since her marriage to the architect of the Titanic, billions and billions of dollars ago.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/#25892111

This is not a strong performance from Robert Gibbs(communications director) of Obama’s campaign. Has he ever been on TeeVee before, didn’t look like it.

I’ve heard the complaint from Richard Wolfe and others that aside from putting Barack out front there is little access to the campaign. Like them or not, Obama has to get his message out to more than Olberman because it’s an echo chamber. I don’t like Mrs. Greenspan but it does more good to keep her happy, than not.

I don’t know what the overall Obama media staegy is, but the message doesn’t seem to get out past the blogosphere. Where is the message from the campaign showing McCain voting against Vet benefits constantly? About McCain changing his positions daily(somtimes more)? About the Keating 5?

Guys, you have a problem with your links in Ian’s article — I’m getting redirected to bad URLs when I click on any of the links to ‘read more’ or the comments.

I don’t think it’s me — I got here just fine.

When we discuss the “media” we should probably distinguish between it’s various parts:

Reporters

Editors

Owners

Performers (like Tweety)

Op/ed writers

etc.

If we’re talking about REPORTERS, their bread is buttered by finding and writing stories that get bylines and above the fold positioning…if they spend the whole campaign writing crap that gets buried, they’ll be looking for other work.

McBush gives em stories—the stories they’re getting right NOW may not be the stories McBush wants printed- but they are stories nonetheless..

Would you rather be traveling with Obama or McBush?

Either that, or the press is sensing that the political winds for McCain are simply blowing smoke, and they are doing what they always do…abandoning the sinking ship lest its stench rub off. What do you think?

Absolutely!! It is interesting to watch the media shift…but we need to keep the message out there that even if the media takes “our side” they always go through the prevailing winds and will turn once again. All they care about is access.
