funny thing, pw, i was sitting in the local tire repair shop in 2002 i think, in my little town, ends up it was one of those corn holders stuck in the truck tire, and i was reading some popular mechanics magazines while it was being repaired………found three magazines that all had to do with things we were ‘testing’ in space…little ‘almost’ mentioned clips, that alone meant nothing, but together were the whole story…guess who for? guess what one of them was? a laser system, anti-missle defense system….was due to be used in two years then….kept the magazines. read everything. just read everything.

(and for those of you who have patiently listened to my bitching about my browser-since last year-just downloaded firefox, older version, cuz now with highspeed i can, and my mac guru said do it……working BEAUTIFULLY, no crash at all, not having to stop the page loading and not having to hold my breath was nice..yippie…now i just have to figure out how to make it do what i want..but if nothing else, i can now sign in here without a crash landing…and comment window is smaller, maybe that’s a good thing!!)

You raise an interesting problem. How strong is the hierarchy when the civilian control is crazy? Do we all, including the military, follow our leaders in lock-step off the cliff? I don’t see the military refusing the order to bomb Iran as a military dictatorship. I see it as intelligent under the circumstances.
