So yeah, McCain said about Obama's plan:

I think it's a pretty good timetable, as we should -- or horizons for withdrawal.

Let me make sure I understand. The reason to vote for McCain is because he has more foreign policy know-how than Obama, right? I mean, he's admitted that he doesn't know anything about the economy so foreign affairs is obviously where he's making his case. And on the key foreign policy issue of the day he's just changed to supporting Obama's plan, therefore admitting it's better.

So, what, exactly, is the case for voting for McCain? Seriously, not snarkily, what is the case?

Ian, don’t you mean to ask “What is the case for voting for McCain?”

For the case for voting for Obama is fairly simple, he’s not the third Bush term, he did oppose the initial invasion and McCain is now adopting Obama’s perspective (and Maliki’s) of a 16 month timeline/time “horizon.”

Which leaves the only rationale for voting for McCain as “he was a POW for 5 1/2 years forty years ago.”

Isn’t this statement big news? When Maliki said he agrees with Obama’s plan, it was all the talk of the town. Now McCain agrees with Maliki’s plan which is Obama’s plan… ergo, McCain agrees with Obama’s plan.

suppressing my inner cynic, I think it will be a good thing to have him elected for that reason
