In fact I got a smear email today about that. “Obama swaggers across the stage and says that we have to learn Spanish because of the 14 million illegals here who refuse to learn English and so we’re all going to have to learn Spanish if he’s President”.</p> <p>Learn another language? Horrors! and the idea that we should maybe learn about other cultures? Of course, the public need to know something about those cultures to recognize a candidate’s dearth of knowledge, and most of our elected leaders have been doing little to educate themselves or the public about those cultures.
