I’d like to see the meme that building all of those deep sea drilling rigs are stealing resources from the renewable energy industries. The steel, copper etc, that are being used in foreign shipyards could be used in the US to build wind turbines, solar arrays, geothermal extraction, etc. Hell even canceling the use of the penny would provide the raw materials to rebuild the infrastructure of the US, with the benefit of several millions of new jobs.</p> There will not be a new deep sea drilling rig available until 2013.
