And why?

The majority of “liberals” in America are women, and that is in keeping with the leadership of the FDL. And this too is vitally important in order to move our public discourse forward.

And as a Chicano from the Sonoran Desert, earlier this week, I took to task, the New Yorker for their cover page. Thusly, the editors’ approach to racism was a stigma for a rank “amateur hour” on their part. Here in the Desert, no owner of a Latino, Native American, or African American news outlet would venture to do the same. Perhaps, we are not sufficiently Liberal, but we do pay the ‘price’ on a daily basis for our citizenship.

Consequently, America’s liberal dudes like to “play the game” as well “engage in the game” as long as there is not cost visited on either the bottom line or the potential cost visited on their advertisers.

In the meantime, the ACLU in Arizona has updated their legal filing by adding two additional complaints relative to a ‘crime suppression sweep’ albeit, a ’round-up of illegal immigrants’. In the first instance, a Latino couple was stopped at a roadblock, and asked for the social security card, a driver’s license, title, and insurance papers, and yet, no one else that was stopped, was asked for “the papers”. In the second incidence, a brother and sister and owner of an auto repair shop, stopped at a nearby convenience store and saw a Deputy speaking to two Latino-looking men who were handcuffed. The Deputy yelled at them to leave and threatened with them with an arrest for disorderly conduct. Upon their return to their place of business, four police cars arrived and blocked both the street and the business location. With guns raised, the police yanked the brother from his vehicle, and with face down on the hood, was handcuffed.

Of course, this will never be reported in the New Yorker, so the large and loud liberal cabal of Journalististic Brethern will circle the wagons and defend the New Yorker.

It strikes me as richly ironic that part of the takeover of our government by Corporate interests has been the strategy of muzzling the free press.

Who could’ve predicted? That in the place of traditional top down talking heads would sprout up hundreds of “Be the Media” types – some, like FDL, simply brilliant in their capacity to lead, inform, and motivate people to act.

When history is written about these days, I know that you, Jane, and you Christy, and FDL as a whole, will be part of the story of how people came together to find solutions. I think of this place as a 21st century Charter Oak Tree.
