I thought John McCain did mean that he went to Annapolis during Calvin Coolidge’s administration (1923-29), the same time that his dad went there. Only a candidate with an intact memory would have remembered he enjoyed the Academy during the latter years of the Eisenhower administration.

McCain thinks his joke was funny; he also thinks the Internet is a tennis tournament.
