Maybe next time that kid asks “What’s the difference between ‘theoretical’ and ‘realistic’?” he can be told the real answer: “Theoretically, Obama supports feminism, but realistically, he throws us under the bus.”

What I wonder about Obama is, though– with his amazing wife and two daughters– what is there about Mac’s misogyny that he finds the least bit funny?

I have thought long and hard on these issues.

Obama would have been well within his rights to tell him off, but he couldn’t even get that right. He had his spokeswoman do it. Classy, as ever.

How does referring to women as “ho’s” help? And Obama’s half-assed, “no, I take it back, I’m just messing with you” comment at the moment was just gross. And later, to get another “clarifying remark” from a spokesperson is just becoming for too much par for the f*$!ing course from him and his campaign.

I don’t think that Mac’s lame attempt at humor went quit so far as “referring to women as “ho’s”, but he he won’t enjoy facing the women in his family:

“My little nephew came to me and he said, ‘Uncle, what’s the difference between a hypothetical question and a realistic question?’” Mac said. “I said, I don’t know, but I said, ‘Go upstairs and ask your mother if she’d make love to the mailman for $50,000.’”

YMMV. The women in my family would righteously crucify him, with no mercy. And the men would be giggling as he squirmed. Yes, right, they should join in. But the women are so damn good at this. He’s be crying for his mommy.

IMHO, it was ill-advised of Obama to try to get into the middle of it. And the way he did it was particularly lame.

I have lost a great deal of what cautious respect I once had for Obama, and not just because of his latest equivocations and rapacious honing after the presidency at, apparently, any cost.

I do not trust this man.

As for McCain, he is beneath contempt. However, I cannot subscribe to the ‘lesser of two evils’ concept. Evil is evil, and it will not do to claim in expiation that Senator or Representative so-and-so did it. When you vote for these people you are erecting vicarious moral agents who take, in your name, decisions for which you alone are responsible. You cannot abrogate or delegate your responsibilities as a moral being.
