Hmmm, so McBush’s brain sez this whole recession thing is in my head. Obviously I must be hallucinating this “out of work for three months w/no prospects in sight” & the $4/gallon gasoline that is keeping me at the house.

Anyone remember “Grammstanding” - the art of taking credit for legislation you opposed? Lots of folks do it today but it all started somewhere…

I disagree with characterizing the ACLU as left wing radicals.

Protecting the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is the mission of the ACLU and of huge interest to a wide spectrum of Americans of all political labels.

A look at the complete list of cases that the ACLU is working on, or their positions on issues, turn up things that someone is going to disagree with. For example, there has been strong internal debate on gun control in the ACLU for a very long time now.

But that’s the point: we not only need to protect the rights that we use, but also the ones that others use, especially those we might not agree with.

Any other response divides us again, in all the well known ways…

Any speculation as to whom the McSame is going to selected as second-in-command of the Titanic? How many bets on Dick Cheney again? There isn’t a candidate in hell that can swing a state for him except maybe Lieberman in FL, so why not another four years of the little dick?

Good morning.

Recently Rep. Robert Wexler visited Firedoglake to talk about his new book, Firebreathing Liberal. During the course of the discussion several people raised their concern over authorizing the president to conduct what would be a blockade of Iran. I noticed this morning that Rep. Wexler has advocated that the blockade language be removed and Rep. Franks has vowed to vote against the resolution. While I know our group was not the only group who raised this issue I know that they were a part of getting Wexler to ask for this change.

After our defeat on FISA yesterday I thought everyone could use some good news about our efforts on this issue. We don’t always win but at least some are listening to the voters.

Iran Resolution Must Change

Used to belong to the ACLU. Filed a brief once on behalf of Black Panthers. (lost) Then it was disclosed they cooperated with J E Hoover in WWII. Ancient history I guess, but if we have to depend on them to protect our liberties, we are fairly far gone. Take the connection between signing the ad and joining their list. It would have taken nothing to have two boxes to check, but they chose to have one. That’s exactly the attitude I object to.

I am pretty sure that I am every damn list there is. I burned my draft card, spent a night in jail after being chased by nixon’s dogs, spent another night in jail protesting the nuke plant at Seabrook and I subscribe to every “left wing” publication I can find and I have never missed a chance at pissing off the jackbooted blackshirts. And when the revolution comes, as I am sure it will, I will be on the streets if I am still around by then.

That’s the same topic Sean Idiot has. I guess since there is nothing notable about Mc., he repeats in distorted fashion his every thought about Obama. But it is all so mean; such a sad state on what politics has become.
