Aloha, Suz!
hey
square pineapples!
hey pups
Toonz!
Suz!
hi suz
everyone having a good holiday weekend?
Corn bread are square. Pineapples are round …..er….rather…..oblong.
I loved “The Beach” today. Ian, such a wonderful writer.
Camel toes? Sure we had camel toes for Independence Day…………………
wasn’t that a lovely treat for the eyes and mind
Hi Suz, hi pups. Just driving by on the way to sleep, but wanted to share some pics I took today:
Fox Grove Farm
Cute kitteh pics within!
oh how cute LL
That was my childhood, really!
I’m gonna call it a night.
See you pups tomorrow.
Last i checked…! I spent a summer harvesting ‘em on Lana’i… In all that acreage I never ran across a square one…! ;-)
pain free sleep wishes tex
Suz, that’s one step closer for me to adopting a couple of cats :-) Working on it!
Aloha, Tex! Pain free sleep wishes to ya! *g*
Awe, so beautiful!
Which one is yours? Beautiful kittens!
nite betsy
woohoo – which one ya looking at special like ll?
omigod! just almost broke my arm patting myself on the back- that first piece of classical music sounded *really* familiar- I had to know, and I made a wild guess! Viola! Moonlight Sonata.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6txOvK-mAk
Heh, which two are LL’s, as we’re discussing it at the treehouse…!
hey Neuro are you going to Digg or NOT that is tyhe Question…
Digg!
good timing, eh?
i love the music in cartoons – was my first exposure to classical music
first piece of classical music in the ‘toon!
Question answered DUGG it for Suz
thanks for the digg and opening it neuro
good to see you, nahant
my computer is running slower than usual tonight
yes! let me go google Fantasia!
Dugg, neuro.
Nice work
Margot, Suz, CT — none are mine yet, but I am lobbying hard for Annie and Jamie. They are just over a year old, and so sweet. I’m away from home so long on my work days that I think a pair of older cats, rather than kittens, would work out better.
Likewise, can’t neglect Suz…! ;-)
i think that is the ideal solution ll – and they will have each other when getting used to you and the new place and your work hours
woohoo
Done dugged.
thanks for the digging, everyone
When you get them please put photos up in f/b, ok?
See, it is two…! I agree LL , two sisters are the best way to go…! ;-)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8Ca_edg6RE
Fantasia – Night on Bald Mountain
I surely will!
Great minds think alike, CT! ;-)
A quick drive by to say it looks like I’m back in business.
Ya she might not have that Glare turned down to STUN!!!
Ducking….
i went to see that movie thinking it was another disney cartoon with mickey mouse – just a movie. scared the crap outta me – completely not what i was expecting
glad to see ya got logged in again demi :)
Thanks, Suz. It appears I was an inadvertent collateral glitch.
Hey, who says life is boring?
The camping trip to Oxnard was verrrrrry relaaaaaaxing. Perfect weather, people hiking and biking and generally having a good time with family and friends.
Oh, and FOOD!
what kinda food?
Coffee and bacon, and shrimp and beans, corn on the cob, salads, burgers, and s’mores.
Demi!
We were just talking about FOOD today. Food, can’t live without it. Food, can’t live without it.
That one’s been a favorite for me for pretty much EVER. I’ve seen it on rerun on the Disney Halloween special so much i fell in love with it. It should scare most little girls, but i sat there entranced. *grin* I swear, it never fails. Something that most little girls should be spooked at? I don’t even bat an eyelash and otherwise bounced around and went COOL! When i was a kidlet.
nahant – i always keep the safety switched to on to avoid accidental discharges
Suz- the most traumatic Disney “cartoon” movie I ever saw was “Bambi”- not at its original release (not born then) but later- maybe I was 5 at the time. Traumatized a generation of kids- did some google research a while back, and saw that I was not alone in this reaction.
dumbo is what got me, vg. dumbo still makes me cry like a baby
My ‘Nard? Wish I’d known!
alias- don’t remember quite when I saw Fantasia, but I loved it too!
Boy am I relieved:>)…. Don’t know if I could duck that fast! Not as quick as I once was… still quick just not as quick:>)
Hi Mare!
Stopped at a roadside stand on the way home and got some fabulous peaches. The real deal.
Mmmmmmcan you smell them from there?
McGrath?
safety first was drilled into me at the dept
I had one go MIA.
Jeeze, I need a few more gray hairs, serious, ANY hairs!
The varmint in question finally decided to come waltzing in like a drunk teenager.
‘Twas a long hot day out there in the beautiful horse country of VA, so I’ll say good night. Thanks to all who checked out my Flickr pics!
they didn’t issue those glares to just anyone, did they?
you really need to know how to use one
McGrath. I didn’t know you were in ‘Nard. I will tell you next time we come up. I do McGrath several times a year. That’s where we do Thanksgiving.
“Don’t Taze Me…!” ;-)
noooooooooooooooooo
Geez VG, no wonder I liked Emerson Lake & Palmer. Remember their version of that music?
Suz- Can’t remember seeing Dumbo. But what got to me about Bambi is that it violated all of the cartoon rules I knew so far— creature gets hit in the road, then really doesn’t die, just goes unflattened, and comes back to fight another day. The fact that Bambi really did die was just beyond comprehension for me at the time. Disney really did have quite a dark side.
Me too.
I tell ya, these forkin’ cats give me more trouble than my kids!
(((( Busted )))) So glad the kitteh is back home!
Ah, an old favorite! “De happy peoples, sitting on der balalaikas, playink der samovars …” Love those round-up cartoons.
Dude, you and those cats!
Happy weekend.
Army made sure I knew what was what… but of course I was already hunting before the Army… had to live up to the last name and all…
On my first hunting trip to northern Maine I was asked if I was a Hunter… you can guess my answer… made him LHAO… of course he introduced me to Maine coffee… so thick you could stand a spoon in it… he poured a healthy helping of coffee into the percolator and then an egg, added water and put it on the pot belly stove for 20 min…GOOD stuff…
i think that’s an early incarnation of daffy duck in there
I’m down the beach at Mandalay (formerly Oxnard Shores, but we got all full of ourselves and NYTs recently called us the “next Malibu”) — I still know that Oxnard/Ventura is really Bakersfield-by-the-Sea, and I’m glad to be by the sea. So glad that you use and enjoy McGrath. I drive through every now and then just for the joy of it. Where are you coming in from?
Turn your head and shut your eyes.
The varmint in question finally decided to come waltzing in like a drunk teenager.
Ruh roh, you pushed a button there.
My 20 year old pulled that on my last Sunday morning at 4:30 am.
I’d never, ever seen him like that. It’s a freaking miracle he made it here safe. Had a fight with his roomates (go figure that one) and moved back in with me. He stayed all week and want camping with us and everything. Says he wants to get his life back, together or something.
(It’s been a very emotional week for me.)
The San Fernando Valley. It’s such a quick ride..about an hour. Bakersfield by the sea. Ha! That’s a good one.
I’ll definitely let you know the next time I head out that way.
A tough row to hoe, demi…! I fully empathize…!
been there did that – finally moved out again after growing up some more
Keeping up the rep Busted ???
((((((Demi)))))))))
Lay down the law or be prepared for more fun and games.
I am seriously telling you this from what I did to my relatives as a younger man.
Busted! So glad to know Baby Cat is back. I was worried there for bit that the “equine cat brush” might have sent her scurrying.
Actually, that is a newer version of one from the seventies.
VG knows I love her.
Busted- yeah- Bambi vs. Godzilla- pretty much captures my horror at the time
Ack!!! It’s like emotional egg shells. Can’t push very hard or I know he’ll bolt. Today I told him that I was grateful to the universe And proud of him for making a difficult, but healthier choice.
I got him to go to the dentist for the first time in four years.
Here is the original..
I’m not a very good law layer downer.
Maybe I should enlist Suzanne’s help.
your house your rules demi i called em ‘common courtesies’ when jen moved back home as an adult
yeah, nahant, not to worry. Busted and I woves each other! ;)
VG, it’s time for some hair brushing for this cat.
I’m on it.
Demi, I think you set your boundaries, love ‘em, and go with the flow. Mostly it works out over time. Sometimes it is …………well, it’s always whatever it is. But you do set your boundaries … because that helps them set theirs.
i thought you shaved everything off?
Yep. It is nice to see the brothers hanging out together and helping me together too.
We’ll be okay. It’ll all work out, eventually.
Whew…the camping thing has taken its toll and I think my tea’s brewed.
Good night all you lovely pups.
Take good care of your selves.
g’nite demi
Aloha, demi!
AWWWW Tain’t that nice
Night demi remember boys will be boys… but those girls well that’s a whole nother story
I did me, I don’t shave cats, I leave that to professionals with leather outer wear.
Aloha yerself and thanks for your continued support.
zzzzzzzzzz
thanks again, suz.
nite demi
Night, Demi. Come back to the ‘Nard!
It’s always f*in’ somethin’, idn’t it? :)
Heh, Cats’ don’t seem to appreciate it much…! ;-)
hehe! Busted told me that Baby “woves” him, thus my use of the word. Maybe Busted can explain…. ;)
A couple of minutes with that brush and the cat is looking for a cigarette. She loves that thing now.
spew
Crikey! Baby Girl? You are cracking me up!
You ought to see the look on this cats face right now.
no comment…
the real test is will the other cat let ya brush her
Ahem.
It’s a cat.
Busted loved your story about Baby Girl… she must be such a flirt:>)
Yes, we need some clarification from Busted. Baby, or Baby Girl.
She likes any attention, she really likes that brush too, I swear, I get enough hair off of ‘em in a couple minutes to build another cat!
I did know that Busted buuuttt youleft it wide open to many interpretations…
Baby girl is one long haired varmint, I think she prefers Menthols.
Baby just likes any attention.
we have lift off
Oh Suz- hilarious- from your linkey:
~~Couch covered about 235 miles in about nine hours after lifting off at dawn from his gas station riding in a green lawn chair rigged with an array of more than 150 giant party balloons~~
Does his landing in an Idaho potato field, make Mr. Couch a bona fide couch potato…? ;-)
Guess it was a success I had read about him yesterday… good he is safe…
I bow to the crazy man.
oh, p.s. he’s from Bend, Oregon
ding ding ding!
LOL!
it was a pea field… so I guees he got peed on
Heh, a true Bent denizen…! ;-)
Aaw, I thought that was all they grew in Idaho? 8-P
rubber biscuit
Somebody did, dumping ballast.
I can’t believe it, my wife got me hooked on ‘Army Wives’… A pretty accurate portrayal, I’ve noticed…! ;-)
Busted- still need clarification- was it Baby or Baby Girl who was just lately (see earlier comments) who was woving the cat brush?
BG, VG…! ;-)
Couch is on TV now….
i get their names confused – toss in i call stephanie baby girl to try to avoid calling her jen and well, its not pretty
Thanks for that one, I knew what it was before I clicked on it. A Blues Brothers classic!
ty! guess I am a slow reader!
Baby Girl, Menthols, in the bedroom.
busted, didja see es had a name the cat thread last night?
Suz- that was great! I think it deserves a “featured” LLN post!
I got there really late, my submission was Freddy.
Freddy Fender.
no swear words?
i’ll keep that in mind, vg. blues brothers music is made for hot summer nights
It wasn’t my first thought.
*g*
hehe! I warned you about the awesome power of the equine cat brush. (now, don’t take that phase amiss, anyone. “equine cat brush” as spoken about by VG has some history)
Ya think…. Blues Brothers are good no matter what the weather or time of year…
Thers hit it out of the park in late night. I’ve been following the birth certificate BS for days, thanks to WRH, but Thers – again – hit it out of the park…
I didn’t even get there- huge computer problems. But, really, I liked one of ES’s suggestions- Dip Stick, most of all.
Speaking of acronyms… Betrayus had his piece de resistance translated into Arabic… Sorta…
Half Arabic and Kurdish, and another half Military-ese… Acronyms, such as … ” There is no way to translate the military’s plethora of acronyms, so they appear in English in the midst of all this Arabic. Oh the poor Iraqi Army captain who has to figure out what COIN, HMMV, SOPs, TTP and OIF means.”
Translate that…!
I thought I kept up with the news……was there really a question about birth certificate — and what group was pursuing that. I am naive, and I’m not giving it up!
hey et
Hey ET- Thers’ LN posts are always great!
John McCain was born on another planet. What else could explain him…
I think FUBAR is as universal as the middle finger.
Roger that…! ;-)
Some people say that McCain’s birth certificate is from Uranus…
Busted- middle finger is not universal. It is not used in the UK, for example, to flip someone off. Instead, what is used is the V sign, but with palm turned the other way. I really had to struggle to get this right, when I was trying to flip someone off while driving in traffic.
I always suspected he was a Cling On.
Not mine!!
Upside down “V” signs, having to look the other way before crossing a street, are they dyslexic, or are we?
heh, were you on the
rightleft side of the road…? *g*I would say something but I am already past my allowance of being a smart @ss.
not upside down, fingers up, but palm facing the other direction.
someone put you on a limit?
so why did the soccer fans want to kill me when I gave the “V” sign upside-down?
LOL! No, I passed the UK driving test too, that being quite a challenge. And, UK drivers are 1000% better than US drivers. So, I really didn’t have that many occasions to flip someone off as I do here. Still, I remember the challenge!
Not mine!
Now that I don’t know! Soccer fans in which country?
palm facing the person being offended or the person offending?
I’m getting soft in my old age.
I’m sure one LQQK from ya, Suz, and no problemo…! ;-)
Check out Scott Horton’s place for a good read about George the one we love and the one we well you know how you feel about HIM.. Can’t wait for this one to be out of office in January or sooner would really make me happier…
Ya chicken.
I dodged it twice and lived.
Of course I do have a new knot on my head, she don’t forget and gets ya when ya ain’t looking.
Take yer chances.
*innocent look*
smiling sweetly at busted
707!!
Speaking of challenges, the signage portion of the test is quite a challenge, they have signs for any and all potential hazards…! ;-)
Ocean breezes calling me off to sleep. Night folks.
Cow.
Aloha, Dearie!
g’nite dearie
Gnite Dearie.
nite dearie
bailing out myself
can’t wait to find out what “we” named the cat
nite pups
nuther cow
g’nite newton
More sheep and geese signs than cow…!
Gnite nahant.
Sleep well my friend.
I was thinking about that tornado movie where the cow is flying through the air.
Good night Newton.. I am heading in that direction… good night pups sleep well and see ya (QQ) next late late night
Aloha, nahant and newton!
I shall bow out too! I bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
Suz- ah… apparently its history is complicated.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_sign
~~back of the hand facing the signer- Victory – was first popularised by Winston Churchill~~
~~Palm facing the signer- =insulting – largely restricted to the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
= Peace – in the United States without respect to the direction. Sometimes used as an informal valediction. ~~~
etc. !!!
Crap, sorry newton, Gnite . I crossed up looking at the names on the post.
Gnite CTuttle,
Gnite JohnBoy.
Gnite Ma.
Gnite Pa.
Sometimes I just don’t pay enough attention.
Busted- don’t stress, we know you use bad language, but not that kind of bad language.
g’nite to everyone who left while i was walking token, the cutest dog in the world *waving*
busted i love that movie… cow, another cow, nope, same cow
ok, pups, time for me to head off
g’nite all and thanks for hanging out with me tonight
Thanks to you too, Suz!
I have a huge crush on Helen Hunt.
As Good As It Gets?
Oh yeah. Smokin’ hottie in that.
I love that movie, Jack was on his game and Greg Kinnear was fantastic.
Even Cuba Gooding jr. was great. I fell out of my chair laughing when Jack threw that damn dog down the Garbage chute!
My favorite movie, except for some Bruce Willis stuff.
Busted- that was a great movie!
Sweet dreams Suz!
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Kristof and Rich today. MoDo typed about “An Ideal Husband” and how to dodge mates who would maul your happiness. She apparently couldn’t find anything to write about except celebrity divorces and marriage counseling from a 79 year old Catholic priest. Mr. Kristof’s column is titled “The Truth Commission,” and he says we need a national Truth Commission, with subpoena power, to investigate abuses in the aftermath of 9/11 and to begin a process of soul searching and national cleansing. Mr. Rich is ready to vote for “Wall-E For President,” because the fierce urgency of now that drives the family movie “Wall-E” and its yearning for change is absent in both the Barack Obama and John McCain campaigns these days.
http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got French toast with maple syrup or raspberry syrup. We had a lollapalooza of a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon and had no electricity from about 1:00 in the afternoon until 2:30 this morning. The forecast speaks of more of the same. I hope your weather is being more cooperative and enjoyable. Have a great day.
morning and thanks marion. i’m not a fan of kristof’s but i agree with him about wanting to know the truth. do you think maybe bishop tutu is available?
Sorry to hear about the length of the power outage but aren’t y’all still in need of rain? If you’re tired of it, send some up our way, darlin’; which reminds me to go check local weather to see if there’s any hope.
Mornin’ all!
Sunday Talking Heads is upstairs…
You’re too quick for me…
The jasmine, asparagus and I are all grateful for the rain — it’s the lightening and thunder that comes along WITH the rain that we could probably do just as well without!
