Just remember, the stories of McCain's calling his wife the c-word and attacking Rick Renzi in 2006 first reported in my book, The Real McCain, they are damn lies as the McCainiacs have claimed (well, actually, McCain called the Renzi incident a lie on Fox, and then his own people backtracked from that falsehood and turned McCain into a liar in The Washington Post).
Because, as you can see, there is simply no pattern of this kind of behavior with McCain:
"McCain was down at the end of the table and we were talking to the head of the guerrilla group here at this end of the table, and I don't know what attracted my attention," Cochran said. "But I saw some kind of quick movement at the bottom of the table and I looked down there and John had reached over and grabbed this guy by the shirt collar and had snatched him up like he was throwing him up out of the chair to tell him what he thought about him or whatever. I don't know what he was telling him but I thought, good grief everybody around here has got guns and we were there on a diplomatic mission. I don't know what had happened to provoke John, but he obviously got mad at the guy and he just reached over there and snatched him."
That's right--McCain just reached out and physically assaulted someone at a diplomatic meeting where guns were present. How, um, diplomatic of him.
So, to sum up: I am lying in my book, as is everyone else who has ever reported on the myriad examples of McCain's complete loss of self-control in the presence of others--and McCain is 100% docile and agreeable as his underpaid spokeshacks will tell you. And to elect McCain to a position where he would be attending many of these types of diplomatic meetings--that wouldn't endanger this country and/or its citizens at all.

wow.
you are doing amazing work, Cliff– thank you!
(that’s even worse than the bush backrub of Merkle/s)
Thanks Cliff, Unfortunately MSM would just protray as straight talk
Morning Cliff. Thanks. If he were to do this today in public, in front of the for-profit media, would they air it? Or would we have to see it on a blog youtube clip?
Heavens to Betsy, Cliff! Quoting such foul language as “good grief”! (Or perhaps I should say, “g**d gr**f.”)
Anyway, I do appreciate your excellent and ongoing working at getting the word out about McSame’s inability to control his temper. F**king brill!
Thanks for the kind words guys. To answer your question Betsy–I think this all would just disappear into the ether if he did it today, sadly, unless it was on film.
The media would probably just blame Wes Clark for it….
It’s refreshing to see a Republican who matches words of aggression with deeds of personal aggression.
Until now, we’ve been stuck with a few middle finger gestures.
Way to go, John!
As the campaign grinds on and the pressure increases, McTickingTimeBomb is gonna blow. Something will set him off, big or small. I’m hoping that it comes during one of the debates when everyone can see what a dangerous person this is to have his finger on the nuclear button.
It’s sad that America still worships Cowboys/Mavericks. That adoration is what propels a guy like McCain to the top in politics, and thereafter, anything inexcusable he does is excusable or overlooked.
All anyone has to do is question his Cowboy/Manhood credentials, and he’ll erupt.
Thing is, a lot of people think this is great. They want a real kick ass commander in chief. He’ll show ‘em. Diplomacy is for the French.
you are not allowed to say negative things about John McCain.
you must not have gotten the memo.
why are you such an angry blogger?
Interesting story
Wonder how many middle americans would find that behavior comforting in a prez…quite a few I fear.
Have been thinking (maybe hoping) the same thing myself. Cliff, care to share what you think the chances of McSame’s blowing up when/where it will be captured on video?
Hi everybody-
I think it should be the mission of everyone who has an opportunity to ask McCain a question in public to try to ask him something that will make him freak out. It’s the strategy employed by the Republicans in ‘72 against Muskie-as Liddy said, “Better that he break in the snows of New Hampshire than in negotiations with Brezhnev.”
McBush is asked on the flying straight talk express why being a prisoner of war makes him more qualified to be prez- and McBush blows up at the reporter- has to be rescued by Lieberweasel. Guess it’s happening as we speak. No film at 11 though as far as I know.

Chances are this story is bull designed to make McCain look tough because the polls show people are worried about his age.
Why is this story coming out now? McCain is a Republican beating up a Sardinsita woud be the kind of story he would have bragged about constantly after it happened, Men brag about fights its our nature.
Men do not wait decades to tell good fight stories, normally there is no way to shut a guy up about a good fight story, there is no way John didn’t mention this before in any of his political campaigns.
Also doesn’t McCain as a result of the torture he suffered have problems moving his arms?
Just how did John lift a person up by their collar like he was throwing them out of their chair?

These guys are not cowboys–they are outlaws.
CNN showing footage of McCain with Liarman (I-Idiot) attached to his backside like a barnacle) in Colombia. This L’il Joey will be able to restrain him if he gets upset?
I wish there was a video. I really do. It would be a great service to the nation if someone captured McShame in a sick rage.
Speaking of rethuglicans matching deed with action, I was browsing crooks and liars. It seems Larry Craig is a cosponsor of some new federal gay marriage ban. Or was another “protect marriage act”? Cause Vitter is on it too.
This incident happened 20 years ago when McBush was only fifty or so. He might have been able to lift a man by the collar at that age.
Daddy has a bad temper?
Craig doesn’t want his prospective partners getting locked up in relationships longer than fifteen minutes.
Sheeesh, where is my typing today.
barnacle
)ThisThinkI can fix my typos, but they are still outlaws.
Larry’s a selfish bastard then.
Craig’s not running for re-election is he?
Hoo boy, I was searching for the answer to that question and got stuck on Michelle Malkin’s site. If he is, she’ll vows to work to make sure he doesn’t get reelected. Poor Michelle, all that gas and no substance.
Larry applied for job as restroomb attendant at a famous Minneapolis facility
So, to sum up: I am lying in my book, as is everyone else who has ever reported on the myriad examples of McCain’s complete loss of self-control in the presence of others–and McCain is 100% docile and agreeable as his underpaid spokeshacks
There is a big difference between a bully and someone who gets into fights with people who will hit back. Their is a difference between verbal abuse and physical.
How many fights has John gotten into after he was tortured and partially crippled? How many times has he lost his temper without hitting someone who he knows will hit back?
He’s not running according to wiki
Don’t know- but my guess is that McBush wouldn’t back away from confrontation- he’d be in it before he realized what he was doing.
Even with his injuries? Maybe but I still don’t see McCain keeping quiet about kicking butt if it indeed happened.
I can see him keeping quiet- he’s probably had scores of similar incidents of -well- inappropriate aggressiveness and knows he’s got to keep em under his hat.
His injuries as far as I know are such that he can’t lift his arms above a certain height.
No such problem with a grab and snatch.
Er apparently McCain receives disability, because of “limited body movements” but can still hike across the Grand Canyon. He’s not exactly Max Cleland.
Nope McCain has impulse control issues with the temper tantrums, alcohol etc inappropriate aggressiveness like insulting his wife well yeah he keeps that quiet.
Beating on a Sardinista however is not inappropriate aggressiveness for a Republican its the kind of thing Men do brag about.
Beating on a Commie is double points so yeah this story is false, after all why didn’t McCain mention this story in his last Presidential Campaign?
Ok I give folks maybe the injuries are not a problem then. But McCain keeping quiet all these years no.
You mean you expect him to brag about it? “My John Wanye moment”
Anyway people have weird ideas about violence. If footage existed of McShame looking like Hannibal Lecter, the John Wayne BS would evaporate.
Of Course guys brag about stuff like fights, and politicians love spinning tall tales even if they are not true. So I don’t see McCain keeping quiet about a story that *cough* was true like this and that could help him politically with his base until now.
I mean I don’t like any kind of violence. The matter becomes worse if McShame is representing a country. But imagine, eyes bulging, face puffy red with blind fury, it’s not a pretty picture.
I think politicians and their handlers like to have things under control. This kind of story wouldn’t have have a guaranteed effect. The rx could be positive among “the faithful”, but not neccessarily and certainly not with the sane.
And TCU, remember McShame wanted to be perceived as a “moderate” not to long ago.
I agree with you, but look at this fight story from Republican eyes its great!
McCain would have walked through every election campaign he has been through with the GOP 30%er base right at his side if he had spoken about this earlier.
John not Bush would have been our President and there is no way a politician who is used to using his personal story to sell himself with the voters would not think about using this story to do that.
You can be a moderate on the issues and still have a temper problem or get in fights you could even be a Lefty:)
Nah, he didn’t have them fundamentalists in the bag, as I recall. Speaking of which and reading Glenzilla why is Obama sprinting for the 30% with that allowing of religious bias in hiring in federally funded programs. (And I don’t think federally funds should go to religious programs period.) According to Glenzilla, the AP(?) story was pretty far off. I guess the Obama camp thinks McCain might be vulnerable there, but I doubt it because I think the Fundies want their holy war and they don’t want gay marriage either.
That story would be loved by the Louis L’amour crowd.
DisabledHeroically disabled while resisting VC torturers after being shot down and learning everything he needed to know to be President tough ass man’s man (ask Cindy, wink, wink) shows armed Commie punk who’s boss. Oh, btw Obama’s a wimp (and he may be a muslim, not that there’s anything wrong with that, but just sayin’)…Remember your history! Chimpy was called the “chosen one” by that whosey whatsy guy . Was it Karen Hughs book? can’t remember. It’s back in the library. *slaps forehad*
Nah, he didn’t have them fundamentalists in the bag, as I recall.
This story would have gotten him plenty of Fundies because they hate Godless Commies.
Uh Oh, I meant to find that Glenzilla post, but something’s alway cooking on that blog.
read on if you dare.
But keeping in mind a kernal of wisdom from ol’Noam Chomsky
A mere gesture to them if McShame is not deemed “a man of God.”
Cliff, Please correct spelling Sandinista. The Nicaraguan political movement was named in honor of a guy named Augusto Sandino.
don’t kid yourselves. this will be treated as awesome! by st john’s mcbase in the national political press corps. and the mouthbreathers will be beating off just at the image it brings to mind…
I think it’s going to be swishy muslim.
Paging Dr. Murphy. Paging Dr. Murphy. Or would it be more appropriate to page Dr. Howard, Dr. Fein and Dr. Howard?
McSenile is inherently volatile. Is it age, his fear that he’s not as much of a “man” as his father and grandfather? Is it excess testosterone or adrenal malfunction, or longterm PTSD from more than five years of physical and psychological torture, the consequences of which cause him pain and restrict his every movement even today? Is it that his multi-millionaire wife doesn’t love her old man any more and tells him so in bed every night?
I.Don’t.Care. He should not be anywhere near the Oval Office or the Joint Chiefs. He should not have the unreviewable power of the Surveillance State at his beck and call. And he should not have at his side the world’s Joe Liebermans, who would urge him to violently vent his frustrations in making war, rather than channel them toward peaceful ends and better outcomes for all.
Oh I get it….McTeleprompter is okay with grabbing someone by the scruff without provocation, but if anyone asks him a question about his military service or implies that it’s less than heroic, McTeleprompter runs to Columbia, Brazil, and Mexico to cry himself to sleep. Bah hahahahahahahaha!
