I would have guessed that Kristol usually spent the 4th firing off illegal fireworks (like Bush tied to various animals) he’s smuggled in over the State border. I bet Kristol especially loves these parts of the Declaration:

There is no clear agreement regarding precisely which norms are jus cogens — or indeed how a norm reaches the status of jus cogens — but it is generally accepted that jus cogens includes the prohibition of genocide, piracy, slaving in general (to include slavery as well as the slave trade), torture, wars of aggression and territorial aggrandizement and the prohibition on the use of force by states.

Mr. Krugman writes about “The Obama Agenda” and says we could do a lot worse than a rerun of the Clinton years. But Barack Obama’s most fervent supporters expect much more.
