It’s been a helluva week.
Yes, a crazy week indeed! :o!
This playlist is awesome, I love the Dandy Warhols!
It wouldnt play for me, but im on a new machine still and it hasnt had all plugins installed, etc. completely
Hello People!
Have any of you heard about DEVO suing McDonalds? Check it out:
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/…..y-meal-toy
I’m enjoying that fine Tom Petty myself.
Hi everyone.
Thanks for the playlist again.
Wow, interesting story!
Just a quick fly by to say Howdy, y’all.
Hope ya have a great weekend, it’s gonna be a scorcher here, over a hundred tomorrow.
Laying in a large stock of beer to get ice cold right after work!
Rock on, Donita!
A fantastic way to start the weekend!
Because it is pride weekend in SF, and because transgender issues are in play, and because I would like to ackonowledge that a little drag queen benefits everybody, could you find it in your heart to add Madame George (Van Morrison or Marianne Faithfull) to the list?
Thanks Donita!
What’s going on with “Roadie for a Day”?
Wow. I really don’t know what to think of either side at the moment…
Haven’t heard it before. Thanks for posting …and I the subliminal message. I won’t make and sell unauthorized L7 merchandise articles, promise. :)
Hi Peterr,
Have you seen the Peter Bogdanovich documentary on Tom Petty? It’s really good. I saw it on Sundance.
Holy crap, they totally stole that! I’d be pissed too, I hope he smacks them for a few million for that bullshit!
Keep cool my man.
TGIF!
Hi fini! Hi Donita!
*waving to Young Jess*
That should have read ” and I got the subliminal message”. Darn, I should proofread more carefully to see if I any words out. :-)
Hola mi amiga Elliott!
No — I don’t get the Sundance channel.
Thanks for the tip. I might have to try to rent it.
*waving to Elliott* :)
que paso?
How weird…. I almost put Marianne in the playlist today.
Here’s a little “Ballad of Lucy Jordan” for your listening and viewing pleasure:

I missed everybody last week, I had to go to the Indiana Democratic State Convention where some of the candidates I am working with this year were hosting a hospitality suite. It was back breaking work, I tell you, schmooze with Democrats from all over Indiana and drink beer with them. Poor me. I did have more fun than we possibly could.
Congratulations FDL for 58,000,000 site visits, from the Girl Geek Squad :)
Did we grab that honor on our time slot? WOOT! All right!
Well the tour is completed, but the “Roadie for a Day” was a success overall. Most of them were sweethearts and super helpful. There was one who got a little drunky-poo though. That was a bit of a mess. Oh well, rock and roll.
Gee, the things you have to put up with!! lol!
Another quickie,
This tune, I can’t get it out of my head!!
I think I are in luvs.
wooHOO!
Friday afternoon news dump….
Way to tie Obama’s hands…..
Sorry, but that one is overplayed so much on radio right now, I really don’t want to hear it anymore.
Wow, that’s a lot of eyeballs! Woot woot
I just heard it for the first time the other day, I haven’t hit the saturation point yet.
mebbe we get lucky and tie Bush’s hands with cuffs
To hell with that, I want shackles and/or for him to be hogtied
Thanks Donita.
I just got tix tommorow for Allison Krauss and Robert Plant at Harvey’s Tahoe. I’m still pinching myself for the good luck.
You know, Faith No More had a great tune about WWI “A Small Victory” that might be quite relevant for the 4th. My brother “McBob” was Puffy’s tech at the time this came out. A great tune and video from a band I would love to see again.
Any chance you’re going to see Evan Bayh over the Fourth of July? It’d be nice to twist his arm and get him to oppose the FISA amendments.
Maybe you could invite him over to your place for a beer and some burgers . . .
OT but I need to say this. I just heard Sen Maj leader Harry Reid, and with a voice that is so weak and timid sounding, it is no wonder we look to the public like a bunch of “weaklings”. And with the American people, “weaklings” won’t pass muster. Listen to the voice of the minority leader Mitch McConald, and even if he is totally wrong he comes off sounding right, just because of his authoritative voice. (Of note is Mr Reid’s able skills in wheeling and dealing, of so it has been said – if true then placing him in a role behind the scenes would be better use of his talents. Also of note – thinking people quickly get past the voice, and pay attention to the content, but we are in the minority.)
Please understand, I am using the word “weakling” as a description. There may be medical reasons that prevent Mr. Reid from projecting his voice in an authoritative manner, but “joe six pack” could care less – and the politicians know that. And that is possibly why, the dems lose on matters where the public want an authoritative personality. (As a side note, I think Obama does a better job at “the voice” than McCain does.)
After the election maybe we should push for new House (impeachment off the table) and Senate (as stated above) leadership. Food for thought.
Ferlin Husky in a top 10 list is always noteworthy, but you seem to have left out “Bristol Stomp” by the Dovells, featuring Len Barry singing lead.
My good man, you assume Evan Bayh comes home to Indiana? I am sorry to say, you are completely deluded there, Evan Bayh was raised in DC and save for the 10 years as Secretary of State and Governor when he HAD to live here, he merely keeps a residence here. I’ve already sent him numerous emails and messages through personal channels. It sometimes sucks to be rep’d by him.
I hope they are leaving office….tap, tap, tap..
How the hell can they do that?
I agree, he doesn’t project Strength
Nothing is OT here. Let it all hang out baby.
But, but, but . . . I thought everyone had to come back home again in Indiana.
Oh hell no, not Jim Naybors! Eh, what can I say, its a Memorial Day Indy 500 tradition…as cornball as it may be.
started the playlist late (watching the news)
haven’t heard Bitterblue for a looooooooong time.
“Let It All Hang Out” by the Hombres is a moment from the 60’s.
The kids in Bristol are sharp as a pistol.
Very enjoyable clip. Those early rock and roll movies always have old, “distinguished” looking men in the audience.
What does it mean?
There were lots of versions to choose from, but since we were talking about Evan Bayh, I figured I’d go with “cornball tradition.”
Love thy Nabors!
Spot on! Ask Donita, she met some of those cornball traditionalists when she came to Indy recently. We had a good time, but I think she can feel my pain a little better now that she has experienced it firsthand here.
. . . as Thyself!
LOL!!!
No one has advised them that the 60’s has begun.
I do! I love Jim Nabors. Even if I do misspell his name often.
You know vinyl collectiong has become an obsession when you have multiple copies of Leonard Nemoy and Jim Nabors records.
*sigh*
Speaking of cornball traditions, the first Indiana sweet corn is harvested! Yummmm
1961, right on the cusp. Pre-Beatles
Oh hell no, Bilbo Baggins redux!
I get Vinnie and Vicki but who the hell is Vidi?
I remember sneaking out into the corn fields of Nebraska and Iowa and stuffing myself on the early sweets! Iowa corn is the better of the two. *ducking*
Vidi quit after they fired their manager.
I’ve had Iowa corn, its not as sweet as Indiana Sweet Corn. Our corn makes most of the corn syrup found in sodas and other oh so healthy foods produced by giant agribusiness.
That’s greater than Shatner’s interpretation of Rocket Man, which was so brilliantly parodied on Family Guy once.
From “The Ballad of Lucy Jordan” to “The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins”!
Wow, that one is something. I want a sweatshirt!
Occasionally when YouTube Wars break out, I sometimes break out Shatner’s Rocket Man to teach people not to mess with me. If that doesn’t work, I nuke them.
Warning, the video at that link is the most horrible music video ever made. I mean it, its not for the squeamish, or faint of heart. If you are a true music fan, you may want to have some preferred antidote ready for right after viewing that.
This weeks playlist is a hoot! I have been in the summer rock and roll myself this week.
Well, that explains it. If I saw Vidi, I would have remembered it.
I didn’t know that one. That’s better than Rick-rolling. :D
That is certainly a torrid video… A waste of perfectly good bandwidth…! ;-)
hi everyone. what’s up?
Good evening everyone. What a week. Anyone feeling especially united today? LOL
Nothing that entertains is waste of bandwith.
Oh, I see Fini is sharing his new found love with you.
Come here Jacqrat, I Wanna Love You Tender!
I’m stuck in quarter life crisis. So I got drunk of a bottle of wine that I got for donating blood this Wednesday – probably the most noteworthy event for me in the last week.
I heard the others have better stories to tell.
Many years ago before she started her own blog, Digby used to dance…
(apology to those who’ve seen this already, I really TRIED to save it for Spin”
Well I would say my week has been roughly akin to what an audience member at this performance must have felt like.
Good time hanign with you all this week, unfortunately I must run along and find some dinner type sustenance. I will see you all same time next week! If not sooner!
Where do you all find this kind of material? I already spend too much time in front of the screen and yet you guys have always something new and cool – or entertaining.
Link doesn’t work for me.
Holy shite, fini! I may need a lifetime, but I will get you for that. /s
PW’s upstairs with Wayne & Garth
and SE PA corn is better than the industrialized corn of the midwest, just sayin’ but not duckin’
Hmmmmmmmmmmm Youtube Wars?
This is as American as you can get.

Warning! Not for the culturally naive…..
hasta luego!
Breaking my little heart. Thank you Peter. That song used to make my dear old dad get misty-eyed. Dad grew up in Indianopolis.
Ah, a few tears shed here this afternoon.
Thank you.
For the first time (for me) Donita was here for a while. And guess what, I wasn’t because of stupid little fucking problems! I’m cursed.
I’m “glad” to know death sucks ’cause life sucks too.
Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff!!!
Have a great f***g w-e guys!..
