I agree with most of what you say.

I was trained in ethology and scientific writing (published) so maybe too easily concerned by loopholes I find potentially damaging, or at least confusing.

I’m too picky, and not worth the salt to sprinkle on the wounds. Okay?

um adie at 61, i don’t quite understand what you’re saying…….i have been making calls and writing letters for a long time now, i was taught to do that when young..i actually wrote carolyn keene/mr. nancy drew when in grade school, that might have been my first letter….i don’t ’smack down’ anyone, i state what i want to state, with facts usually. even when i call radio shows, same thing……my nickname here is infolady and ladyliberty, given to me by regulars……so, i guess i don’t quite understand the lecture and think it’s misplaced if aimed at me. i post a lot of things about calls and letters and don’t ever remember stating anything that would give you that impression of me…….so, maybe you’re mixing me up with someone else.

and i pretty much believe that anyone can call and say whatever the hell they want however they want, but i’ve found that civility and facts work pretty well for me. you get more information to use later that way.

and it’s not my fault or my responsibility that you read my comment wrong and reacted to it…….
and no, i’m not angry now, just confused and wondering how i got in the middle of this in the first place just because you didn’t understand what i posted, when all i was saying was ’good job’ ’i’m proud of them’………

and sherrod, although a good man, isn’t perfect, he’s got a few things that i’m not so happy about, the mca among them.

and he didn’t state his vote until he voted today, and that was chickenshit as hell……..but i’m glad he voted nay. and i’ll tell him that.

No problem. We’re all frazzled these days. Brown was flamed, and me to, for speaking in his favor during his Senatorial campaign. So I’m still smarting from that and, no doubt, over-reacted. Some then questioned him as a true progressive, and he was dropped by BlueAmerica as a result of their pressure, as far as I can figure. Thank heaven, he was elected anyway.

i talked at length with two different people two different days, specific points, even called back a few times when i thought of more, oh my, i can’t believe his vote.

from what i heard the other day, that’s not the way he was going……..good. too bad he didn’t influence reps charlie wilson and zach space more.

I hope you get to meet Sen. Sherrod Brown one of these days.

Wonderful post, Peterr.. I remember watching the wall come down in ‘89 and many of my fellow liberals knew the next wall would be built around us, by us. And we knew the Nixon / Reagan crowd were the very folks hell bent on making it happen. Today the modern wall just got a lot higher and lot thicker. Only places like Palestine and Iraq know where things are truly headed, if we let our Senators have their way.

And the wall around us is going up– to keep “illegal immigrants”, i.e., cheap labor, out.

Who are the people who like walls?
Lou Dobbs?

Who else?

Let them go to Berlin.
