"Even if you never met him, you know this guy. He's the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by."
Pretty bold words from the guy whose patron's middle name is derived from the latter's grandfather who started the "Walker Cup" one of the better known golfing events.
Besides, isn't Karl Rove the guy who would blackball guys like Barack Obama from joining his club to begin with?
Meanwhile, Karl Rove thinks that Tiger Woods is attending a Farrakhan rally.

Do I get to say Zed if I don’t know why Zed is Sed?
Morning Attaturk!
And do I spoil Zed by continuing to talk?
Like the clip.
Love the rich writing:
Is KR talking about BO in this quote? Oy vey.
“Prescott” Bush.. there’s another name. Who would believe our Texas down home Bush was related to a Nazi enabler from the NE named Prescott?
Here is an article worth a serious read called The Hedonists of Power:
http://www.informationclearing.....e20158.htm
Have a good one. About to haunt the Senate via phone once again.
Another good article I was sent, A Totally Lawless Regime:
http://www.informationclearing.....e20149.htm
Karl Rove is describing his erstwhile master, W, when he talks about drinking, leering, and womanizing. Back in the olden days before W found Jesus, W was more snotty than Hot Tub Tom DeLay, but then, his family was ever so much more socially prominent.
May the next Attorney General decide to carry out the requests of the Congress for subpoenas, etc.
Mornin’, gang -
From a few minutes at scar’s place……..paraphrase: black spoke the truth; no big deal. *click*
*BARF*
It doesn’t look like Feingold will hold the floor…
Also before W found Jesus, while at Yale … and was cheerleader.. IIRC … he was becoming a slick politician by way of (early in the Fall of his first year) memorizing most every name of his fellow classmates … dismaying all … something that would be useful to him. (That list one of the FEW things during his life, I’ll bet, he really pushed his mind to master.)
Gotta run. Have a good one.
Wow… Rove on Bush. My, my.
Gotta go… but so good to see you once again. We must have been in different time zones in recent past visiting the Lake. hope to see you again!
Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo and Herbert today. Bobo typed something called “The Bush Paradox.” He says for George W. Bush, the traits that lead to disaster in certain circumstances are the very ones that come in handy in others. Mr. Herbert writes about “Wounds You Can’t See,” and says that in the absence of any general call for sacrifice, we have an ironclad obligation to look out for the short- and long-term needs of the troops we send off to combat. Well, we should do that as a matter of course as decent human beings, doncha think?

The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got a selection of bagels with cream cheese. The “country club” comment just made me howl. This part of the country has certainly always been known for having folks like the Obamas swanning around the country clubs and golf courses with martinis, looking down on the rest of us plebians… Have a great day.
Earlier this morning on MSNBC, Pat Buchanan was orgasmic at the thought of a terrorist attack on America before the November election and agreed with Charlie Black that an attack would be helpful to Johnny McTeleprompter’s campaign.
Dead Americans. To win an election. Spit.
Attaturk, at this point I’d rather have the clean-cut guy who can hold a cigarette and have a conversation at the same time. I’m tired of the rednecks in the Bush Regime (or those associated with this death squad)! Give me the “Tiger Woods” of the Democratic Party!
Oh, now, let’s not get all upset and take comments out of context. Poor Mr. Black has apologized, and now it’s time for us to move on. Nothing to see here, move along… OOOOH, a pretty shiny thing…
As always, in all things, IOKIYAR.
mornin’
Karl Rove, the guy who wanted to be cool, but just couldn’t cut it. Too bad it took it out on the country.
All the talking heads agree a terrorist attack would help McShame.
Seems to me a thinking person would blame said attack on Bush/McShame
policy.
Of course, there are those who will blame the attack on activist judges for giving
terrorists habeas corpus rights, never mind the fact that not one detainee will have been released by October or November.
Well it worked out so well for them following their attack on the twin towers why shouldn’t they do it again? As if they give one sweet shit about anybodies lives but their own.
Morning everyone.
Out of the loop, I guess, is this about FISA?
Did you see Keith and Dana discuss that last night? Keith asked how long the story would last, and Dana replied that it would probably be just one news cycle unless someone kept it going. Keith snickered and said, “See you tomorrow night.” Dana laughed and said, “And the night after.”
Boys were having fun!
OT question on FISA. Was Quest the only company that did not roll over for bushco? I need my DSL but would love to get away from verizon and any other company that caved. My spouse thinks that Quest is the only company that did not drink koolaid.
Aw. This reminds me of the Lamont/Lieberman race. The Lieberman camp tried to make an issue of Lamont belonging to an unegalitarian country club (he quit), but it sort of petered out a bit when it turned out to be Prescott Bush’s country club, where our current embarrassment’s parents met.
Look at the birdie! Pretty birdie! Awww, nice birdie! Everyone see the birdie!
Why is it when a republic says something like this it’s no big deal, but when the ROM (republican owned media) hears Wright saying, “Gawd damn America!”, the ROM goes beserk?
Is it because the ROM loves dead Americans but doesn’t want gawd to damn them for it? Spit.
Qwest is the only one
to have refused. Who knows if others have been gagged.
Yes, only Quest, and it was pre-911 IIRC.
great post, but it was even better when LM wrote the same basic thing yesterday at the group news blog…

On a similar note, Dan Abrams was all over McSame’s comments (several of them) where he said he had never loved America until he had been separated from her… He wanted to know what was so different between those comments and Michelle Obama’s, and wondered why he was just about the only person who was mentioning it. [crickets] Move along, nothing to see here… IOKIYAR.
I’m sure Johnny McTeleprompter will bring his bullhorn down to the scene of the next Bush Regime attack on our soil to tell us all how much he hears us and how much he can’t wait to live in the White House. Spit.
Killing Americans to get a photo op and to win an election? Yep!!!!! That’s what right wingers do! It’s better than sex to them all. Gawd damn America for having such thoughtless dumbasses living in our country!
Speaking of moron talk - On the Today show this morning they had Dick Morris on hawking his new book - Fleeced: How Barack Obama, Media Mockery of Terrorist Threats, Liberals Who Want To Kill Talk Radio, The Do-Nothing Congress, Companies That Help Iran, And Washington Lobbyists For Foreign Governments (and people like Dick Morris) Are Scamming Us…And What To Do About It. I kept picturing him in a clown suit and when he was done I told my boyfriend that there was probably a big greasy oil spot in the chair where he’d been sitting. Seriously, is there a more pathetic huckster than Dick Morris. Why are they having him on to ruin my morning?
And speaking of oil, when Morris was done he was immediately followed by Tom Friedman pretending that he was an expert on whether the U.S. can break it’s addiction to oil. He too was hawking his new book Hot, Flat, and Crowded : Why We Need a Green Revolution - and How It Can Renew America.
I couldn’t really follow the Friedman “interview” because I’m thinking to myself yeah, we really need to break our addiction to oil especially to the snake oil we’re being sold from discredited media personalities.
I have an OT question, too. Anyone know if there’s any action on closing the Enron loophole? Last night I was googling and I found a senator who was proposing a bill (per his website) but it didn’t even have a number yet. Lots of talk about it but is anyone actually moving it forward.
Interesting bit of info: Levin proposed this late in 2007 but I gave up on finding out what happened to his bill.
And here’s the Fox video with that part edited out…
http://blog.indecision2008.com.....lle-obama/
Oh how the right wingers protect each other!
Solai, one of my blog readers has talked about the Enron loophole from time to time. Here he is again talking about it…
http://whitenoiseinsanity.word.....ment-53570
….snip….
I couldn’t really follow the Friedman “interview” because I’m thinking to myself yeah, we really need to break our addiction to oil especially to the snake oil we’re being sold from discredited media personalities.
Good one, that.
OT - Giuliani Spotted Sleeping On New York City Subway
Mornin’ all :)
Actually, his comment was edited out later, but this video has his comment included.
I’ve always looked to The Onion for my news… Funny story, though.
Are you kidding me, his was much much better than what I tossed off.
Love it!
Thanks, Elliot.
hi Loo Hoo!
credit goes to littlestgator on that one
I’m shocked.
There was no post-surge planning. Freaking slow learners, I guess, or maybe it’s all about money betwixt friends.
Thanks for your Journal line-up I meant, Elliot.
oh, your welcome
although Rep Randy Forbes (R-VA) is classic Republican wanker
Amy Walter puts the HOT in “Hotline”.
He sure is. We need Glenzilla to go on right about now. Who books this show, anyway?
looseheadprop is upstairs with
Special Guest: Len Rubenstein, President of Physicians for Human Rights
Remember when Christy took down that Powerline guy? SO rewarding. So sweet.
Good Morning, More good news from Iraq; how predictable. Trust by verify, as they say.
Zed is available upstairs. I didn’t want to track mud on the carpet…
To Above, Now we’ve got Dick; what hot air.
We have a special guest. Len Rubenstein the president of Physicians for Human RIghts–the group that did that terrific report establishing thruogh medical examination that detainee abuse HAD, in fact occured.
He’s upstairs right now. Come ask some questions
We switched to CBS after NBC subjected us to the Dick Morris/Tom Friedman traveling circus show on Today and lo and behold they are covering the story about the high school girls who supposedly made a pact to get pregnant. We were about to switch again when we heard this interesting tidbit.
Evidently the mayor of the city where this occured held a press conference to say that the principal, who was the “source” for this story suddenly lost his memory when they questioned him about it and could not provide any evidence that there was any kind of pact. The CBS reporter then went on to say that TIME magazine, the ones who originally broke the story, had used the principal for their source.
Let’s see, a factually free story by TIME? Now why does that ring a bell?
Oh, yeah - the factually free story by TIME about Nancy Pelosi and the FISA bill. Heckuva job, TIME!
I’d love to dump Verizon but my only alternative is BrightHouse (old TimeWarner cable) and unless you sign up for the superduper everything they screw ya. Well, they screw ya regardless but single service users reeallly get screwed. So I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Did you also catch his compassion for the 47 million without health care?
Well, 12 million of them are illegals, so who cares? And if the rest got care, the strain on the system would force you (Matt) and I to wait longer to see a doctor.
He’s a real, live sumbitch.
Qwest is about 10$ a month more than I am paying and I would rather send the money to a progressive candidate (Carol Shea-Porter, Tom Allen) then throw it into the coffers of a big corp. It is a dilema.
I’m glad I missed that part. I did, however, hear Lauer remind Morris about his prediction that Hillary would not only get the nomination but would win the presidency. Morris never missed a beat and just changed the subject. When I heard this I had to ask - Ok Lauer, if you know this about Morris why is your network giving this discredited gas bag a forum again to spew more of his self-serving, false BS?
“He’s the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by“
But, but, but…he’s BLACK…shouldn’t he be in the Kitchen?
See, their audience doesn’t not deal with politics the way most of us do. They look at Republicanism as a theocracy. So basically, everyone on the Republican side just has to throw out whatever they can, and their followers pick and choose.
The guy who has latched onto “Obama’s a Mooslim terraist” is going to read Rove’s “country club” remarks and go “Naw, that doesn’t make any sense.” But it’s not going to translate to him thinking “Hey, maybe all these guys are full of shit.” He’s too invested in them now.
Dubya WAS Spaulding…
