He has once again saved Zimbabwe from the dual threat of re-British colonization and the sufferings of democracy.

I agree with those here who say Mugabe is just a local serial killer compared to Bush.

The deaths and disfigurements of hundreds of thousands of people from the US to Iraq make Bush one of the all time killers of history! There’s simply no comparison.

Attaturk is right. I think, like most people, I have long suffered from outrage fatique out of what the Bush administration has done, so my frustrations have been redirected towards the shockingly awful regimes that exist beyond our boundaries. It’s Zimbabwe and the sad situation of Burma that have gained my attention over the past months and it’s true that they are slightly worse than our current situation.

Comparing Zimbabwe to us: At least in the U.S., if I appeared at a protest or demonstration against those currently in power, the range of punishment would be from being arrested to be beaten. In Zimbabwe, however, the range of punishment would be from being beaten to being killed.

Moreoever, comparing Burma to us: At least in the U.S., if I decided to help out fellow victims of a massive natural disaster in my country I wouldn’t be arrested because it makes the government look bad and weak. I would receive virtually no logistical or financial help from the government in my relief efforts, but it’s preferable to be ignored rather than being being used for the propaganda efforts of a military dictatorship.

Slim pickings, indeed, but I’ll give this country credit.

LOL Maybe they should put Karl Rove in one of those “neat” airport surveillance machines so we can all look at his pudgy pasty white body? Hey, Karl would be okay if it was used against us citizens! See? We’ll pull out all their techniques and use it on him. “Someone grab the waterboard for me!!!! Ole Karl here is saying America doesn’t torture, so let’s use one of our un-torture techniques on him!”. LOL
