Impeach!
ZED
Aloha, ES!
Somebody tell them back there…
Shisser
G’ Evening all.
Can it be? The Army’s Glass Ceiling is finally shattered…
Well here comes the digg
Come pups digg this for Jane… especially after the wingnuts were making fun of her hair today… Asswipes
IMPEACH! Thanks, Neuro
DIGG it
Cool! What does material command control?
NEURO I thought you wanted me to digg this post???
dugg
Did miss the zed?
well, if you had ever brought us those burgers…
as it is, I am going to have to make a run to the kwik shop to get a polish sausage with chili and cheese…and that would not be good for my health (but mmmmmmm)
Oversees the distribution, maintenance, field-testing of all army equipment… ‘Material’…! ;-)
AM I the only one having video problems?
Dam we did it againg Neuro… I tink we need better co-ordination
Does anyone here like Fiona Apple?
I’m good.
And hey Eureka!
Oh yes
video played well for me es…
No, you are not. I’m having terrible problems and need to go offline and do SpyBot to clean up my laptop.
OH OH ES are you using FF3??? I have been trying to find a fix for the you tubes… But so far :>( I haven’t found any thing yet
well, you got there first…even though Digg told me I was first…hard to figure.
Hey newtonusr, thanks.. I can’t get it to load here or directly on the youtube page. Very weird.
Hi Late Night Peeps!
I have been waiting to be able to share this HOOOOOOOT YouTube…
Hi ES, hey folks tell me about your phone experiences today … I wanna hear aaall about it!
firefox and flash player are conflicting a lot.. i have to uninstall flash and then reinstall it to get utubes to work lately
I prefer Granny Smiths.
-G
Nope. I gave up on FF altogether. Listening to other youtubes now, with no problem. No biggie, as long as this video works for you all. I listened to it for my sanity about ten times today between calls to senators. It really helped!
I started using Opera 9.5 if I want to watch Videos
Here you go my sweet.
YouTubes still won’t run for me on IE, even though I have “installed” the Flash Player update more times than I can count…so I’m using Opera
Safari or Firefox 2.0.0.xx should be OK on Macs.
Firefox 3 – not quite stable yet.
YouTubes used to be no problem for me on IE, now they won’t run. What’s up with that?
Not stable? FF3 works just fine until I try to watch any videos and now my Real Player is disfunctional in FF3 … Dam and I use Real Player for downloading :>(
Yep.
My PC in both Safari and the old FF is having no probs…! ;-)
Well, it was a pretty lackluster day of calling for me. A lot of folks didn’t know squat until I asked. A lot of folks seemed like thy had a lot of calls too. All but a couple of the best had NO POSITION. GAHHHH!
How about you, jacqrat?
She’s is so wonderful. Thanks, mary.
I have it from a very important person who is a genius that real player should be chucked. That person would be my hubbie.
Ie works just fine for me Neuro…. But do check out the test video out some thing Mc Pain has in his mouth where Cindy can’t find them :>)
I was on the phone with other kinds of people today, and I can’t really say much :D So, I had fun trying to understand a southern accent all day.
Great song, really up. I need up right about now.
what’s wrong margot?
I’m on a mac using FF, and I could get it to work on the YouTube page, but not here.
Love and understanding is what Margot needs. I love Margot.
Me too.. Opened my first summer bottle of Riesling tonight as well.
I am going to call a bunch more Senate-critters tomorrow, dammit.
Can you hear me now? NO IMMUNITY!
Cute clip but then….
This one kicks Ass!
(((margot)))
You have a heart of gold. And you draw a damn mean picture, too.
Had to take dog to the vet, in pain, she’ll get better but that song was really soothing.;)
Thanks, Mary, coming from you that’s like a bar of gold!
Aw heck Suz…;) Thanks.
OK everyone, I couldn’t sit still knowing the video doesn’t work. Refresh for a whole NEW video that works for me too. I put up George Carlin for laughs.
No wonder Margot and some people just don’t understand how we get so connected to our pets and when there are feeling bad our hearts feel for them… We just had tio bring Tucker to the Vet for an Ear infection and you the cost means nothing compared to the love a devotion we get back from him…. After all he is part of the family!
Riesling, it better be Trimbach…
does that mess up the digg?
I don’t know. Let me look now.
George Carlin gave us laughs of joy, tears of joy.
George Bush gives us laughs of horror, tears of sorrow…
Nope there are 10 diggs up there:>)
kewl.. thanks for checking :)
Suz, The title doesn’t change, but diggs remain. Oh well… it’s worth it for a working video and George.
In response to Friday, I unplugged the computer and took to the bed…
Now I’m baaaak!
thanks eureka… glad the digs remained
rut roh (laughing) glad you are back sunny
Ok, this is embarrassing. I buy a particular riesling (which is pretty good) because it comes in a blue bottle. I am saving my blue bottles for a blue bottle tree in my yard. It’s taking years, I don’t drink much these days.
We’re winning. We’re winning. We’re winning. We’re winning. But per WaPo:
Welcome back..)
Cobalt. I love cobalt bottles. I collect antique cobalt bottles. I have two of them.
A little less excerpt (250 words is fair-use), and a little more link, please.
Thanks.
How convenient.. Released just after the more funding vote last week.
I have a few old bottles too.. but they aren’t designated for outdoor landscaping design/play..)
My good friend has been collecting all things cobalt and he has way more than I can count… they are part of his collection … and let me tell you he has so much STUFF you can hardly get around his living room…
That would be because Cheney still has his grubby paws in the DoD… He needs to conflate the Iranian and Syrian ‘threats’… Sorry F*cker…!
Demonstrates intentional abuse of troops and Iraqis too. There really is no words or punishment worthy of these cretins.
At least GAO discussed refugees. Might be worth reading that part of the report.
The Surge Is Working. The Surge Is Working.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. The Surge Is Working.
This message brought to you by the John Sidney McSame Committee for Perpetual War.
We have always been at war with Eastasia.
I agree! But, I’m still gonna have a look-see at the DoD report… See how much of the ’stovepipe’ is still operable…!
Not just Cheney – have a look at this (D) sponsored bill the House may get to this week:
http://www.govtrack.us/congres…..=hc110-362
Rep. Gary Ackerman [D-NY] introduces a bill calling on the Pres to impose a Naval blockade on Iran …
In the Senate, a sister resolution, Resolution 580, has gained co-sponsors with similar speed. The Senate measure was introduced by Indiana Democrat Evan Bayh on June 2.
http://www.antiwar.com/blog/20…..next-week/
They want to make sure the Democrats are just as guilty of crimes against peace as the (R)’s.
This kind of stuff undermines the (D) strategy of using American’s oppostion to the failed war in Iraq as a wedge issue against the (R)’s.
So much for the Evan Bayh for Vice President Campaign.
I hope.
It undermines everything, but evil and insanity.
It is asinine! And the EU just voted to tighten up restrictions on Iran… What part of ElBaradei’s testimony did they all miss…? Last I knew one can’t exactly erase the knowledge from one’s head… That’s all the Iranians are guilty of…! Possessing the knowledge…
Boy I hate linking to them (AP) but here is another warning on Global Warming from James Hanson
Hey Suzanne? WHile I am thinking of George Carlin and you.. here…)
our song! thanks eureka
I ain’t much fit fer polite company tonight. Smooches to y’all.
Just to be a little bit nice, this tune is under my skin at the moment.
See ya’s later.
hi and bye busted
yep those EU actions are worrisome …
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/200….._sanctions
timing is the major unknown variable right now … whenever Darth Cheney says go (he is a major driving factor, as you mentioned) all hell is gonna break loose.
Oil up maybe another 100%, maybe more, dollar on its way down to parity with the peso, and most importantly – the political calculus of the Obama campaign will be jeopardized (snark) … because
Here’s a little Sarah Caudwell, from The Sibyl in her Grave:
In order to deceive others, it is necessary also to deceive oneself. The actor playing Hamlet must believe that he is indeed the Prince of Denmark, though when he leaves the stage he will usually remember who he really is.
On the other hand, when someone’s entire life is based on pretence, they will seldom if ever return to reality. That is the secret of successful politicians, evangelists and confidence tricksters — they believe they are telling the truth, even when they know they have faked the evidence.
Sincerity, my dear Julia, is a quality not to be trusted.
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The price of retail gasoline could fall by half, to around $2 a gallon, within 30 days of passage of a law to limit speculation in energy-futures markets, four energy analysts told Congress on Monday.
EXACTLY!!!
George W. Bush and John Sidney McCain were legacy admits to Yale and Annapolis, respectively. And they both graduated near the bottom of their class.
We’ve had six years of war with a dumb fuck warrior at as commander in chief. How has that worked out?
It is commonly agreed by all strategists that “war is a continuation of politics by other means.” So, if your war gains you nothing politically, you have lost! In late 1990, during the runup to Desert Storm, the State Department and CIA assessed the idea of occupying Iraq and determined that it was not a “win,” but a “lose.” So, George H.W. Bush, who was evil but not a dumb fuck like his son and his son’s would-be successor, McCain, decided not to conquer Saddam Hussein. It was a strategically smart move.
So, indeed, the Surge is not working, nor can it work. In poker there are hands you can’t win. In chess there are positions from which there is no win. In life, we all face situations where we have no winning strategy. Yet, dumb fuck McCain is convinced, and has convinced the vast majority of the FCM, that if we stay the course for sufficiently long, we’ll surely win.
The fact of the matter is that staying the course is a sure lose. Bin Laden has repeatedly stated that his strategy is to bankrupt the U.S. So, no matter how low our casualty rate goes, so long as we spend $12B/month to stay, we’re losing. And neither of these legacy admits gets it. Nor does their Fawning Corporate Media.
Nice.
And I like the Hawthorne:
in the news box:
the link to the entire article had an error (head hanging in shame) – i’ve fixed that and here is the correct link
Too bad I’m not a registered SF voter…! ;-)
Nah just put him in the pipe line and send him for a ride! Wouldn’t be much different from what he is right now.
Another great human passed over the weekend, Don White of Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and the world that loves freedom and stands against exploitation:
Don White- PRESENTE
DON WHITE died on about June 20th, 2008, apparently of a massive heart attack.
The Paul Robeson Community Center Honored Don White in 2004 and this obituary is drawn from the bio we put together then. Don will be sorely missed!
Born in Anacortes, Washington, his life was a reflection of the last 60 years of the progressive movement in the United States. From the time that he was a college student in the late 1950’s, fighting against the injustice surrounding the House of Representatives’ Un-American Activities Committee, Don remained engaged in the struggle for peace and justice for humanity.
As a dynamic speaker, he was a fixture of the left, often serving as Master of Ceremonies or moderator at events sponsored by a wide range of progressive organizations and coalitions. He was regularly the guy who made the pitch for money at demonstrations as well as social and political events — because he put people at ease, could make them laugh, and made them want to give and be a part of something much larger than themselves. As a result, Don raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for scores of progressive and humanitarian organizations.
WOW.. loved the momen tof zen on tonights tds
Gawd I love SF!
Me to I would be voting for Cindy Sheehan to replace fancy Nancy of no table!

Good Gawd…! Pot meet Kettle…
Oh nahant.. Send that to Cliff Schecter!
Poisonous Pedagoguy…. being “enthralled”. The Good German syndrome. Patriarchal control. Identifying with your aggressor. Sounds like Alice Miller stuff. Prisoner of childhood/Drama of the Gifted Child, For Your Own Good, etc. great books.
Right.
Bible… Constitution
Bible… Constitution
I can’t tell the difference, either.
Supreme Court: Death Penalty Is ‘Totally Badass’
I think he was practically thrown out of the country on that visit that coincided with the London transit bombings. Recall how callously he acted, and some of the [ahem] circumstances of that tragic incident. And wasn’t this his first visit to Merrie Olde since then?
In fact the more I think about it, the more sure I am that there are some folks on that side of the pond who could outrun just about any of us if the time ever came.
Nahant, speculators trading in futures aside, I think when we can generate non carbon clean energy on a scale that can replace oil as our energy source we will see oil having to include the cost of their carbon footprint included in the price of gasoline keeping it high.
Solar thermal energy will do that they think that 7cents a kw is doable. That will make gasoline engines obsolete and electric cars will come on line as the supply for cheap clean energy replaces oil. Now oil wars.
Solar farms are being financed by GE, Bank of America Citicorp among others. Thermal can be stored for 16 hours making it flexible for use 24/7.
Ausra http://www.ausra.com/technology/
Done and I dugg it for Cliff
I hope GE et. al. aren’t investing in it to kill it.
On that positive note.. time for some shut eye so I can gets some calls into a few senators before DC lunch hour.
G’nite fabulous firedogs
Over at ThinkProgress they’re saying that Imus feels he’s been misunderstood again.
Some words of commiseration from Eric Burdon and the Animals.
(Just amazing how that keeps happening to poor Don …)
nite eureka

Aloha, ES! BTW, Religion survey says Texans more devout than most…
Most devout or most rabid…? ;-)
Excellent Hawthorne. New to me – thanks.
Good Night ES and make a few calls for me,,, being on the west coast makes it hard to be up early east coast time…especially whe I saty up so late!
Always cogitating on plans that are happening to solve the seemingly insurmountable. I think George Carlin we be amused by our fear and trepidation. “This to will pass”. I am sitting in my study surrounded by pile a paper projects. Blogging and learning what is happening out there…this and radio no tv. Today I guilt a bicycle trailer for my aging pal Blackjack who love being out sniffin but can’t do the wlak to the destination. No carbon footprint and good exercise pulling a 100 pounds of dog and trailer. Test run revealed a minor prob easily fixed and saver hundreds of dollars I don’t have. I hpr hr hangs in and we have more great adventures together. He’s still having fun. Be manning the phones to critters tommorow.
Well, I shall call it a night… I bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
That technology was highlighted a few months ago by Scientific American. Here is another from them on Solar Hydrogen power a bit pricey for now but it does have a future!
Night CT….
You have to wonder how expensive carbon-based energy will need to become before we get off the dime.
Wouldn’t it be great is there were small, inventive entrepreneurs out there making a go of it?
Oh, wait…
Here in SLO County CA AUSRA is building a 177MW plant due to start next year. The race is on and carbon caps will drive the large utilities to contract for solar power. A national carbon credit if Obama is willing too take the lead with Clinton, Gore and the Environmental Defense Fund, will drive the industry to front and center energy. With big oil capital they would be wise to invest. The great deserts of the world will be generating clean energy with solar thermal and wind supplying exisiting grid and steam generating plants. No more ocean outfalls as nucleear will phase out. The pendulun is swinging our way. Lotsa jobs, investment opportunities and our balance of payments will lower tremendously http://www.fi.edu/guide/hughes/oilcrisis.html. And that id supergood news for our economy. I would much prefer the corner electric station than gas.
~~~ModNote: link fixed.~~~
nite pups
to the phones in the morning
There ARE there ARE… I have been finding and reading about lots of new stuff comeing down the pike including http://www.solarcity.com/ who will put in a solar system for free and then you apy them as low as $85 a month for the system and they do all the maintenence on it… There is another one locally but I don’t have the link handy.. will see if I can find for tomorrow’s late late night…
On that note I am hitting the sack… good night pups ..sleep well:>)
Bob Altemeyer’s “The Authoritarians” puts authoritarian leaders/authoritarian followers/social dominators, into context.
Dr Altemeyer graciously makes book available free online. Can be downloaded with Acrobat (or Foxit reader – foxit less complicated/faster than acrobat for me, ymmv). Altemeyer was a major source for John Dean’s writing on the subject. Book’s set up to be an easy read – with an option to drill down into exquisite detail.
You have to wonder how expensive carbon-based energy will need to become before we get off the dime.
Wouldn’t it be great is there were small, inventive entrepreneurs out there making a go of it?
Oh, wait…
There are some centralized generators and some home/busiess. I am finding their are a lot of business models out there/ Ausra epects to produce KW for consumers at 7 cents, we are paying 12 cents kw now. No oil. no carbon footprint and no negative balance of payment. Earth:The Sequel(2008) explains the detail. It is no nonsense factual compilation of how we can bring climate change under control. Nahant’s links are real interseting as well this book gives an overview of what has been going on the last 2 decades and where we are headed. I think now that Peak oil is here technology will make oil obsolete. Why destroy the planet’s atmosphere if you can live a good lifestyle without it?
I read Dean’s book and knew he had the key fallacy in modern neocan politis. Control control control
Dean also did a show on Bill Moyer recommending Impeachment for our elitist president and VP.
SunnyNobility… you give me gold….. My favorite topics, poisonous patriarchal pedagoguey (spell?) and socipathic behavior (in leaders and corporations). I read Dean’s book a while back. Skimmed actually. I can’t wait to dig into this one, THANK YOU>
Hi BB!!
I have my own pet theory, too, from years ago. Loved theories of Eric Berne, Games People Play. He spoke of 3 main ego states a person relates to others from: parent, adult and the child.
AND, he had subgroups and one of the subgroups of the “child” ego state is something called the “pig parent”. That is the ego state that mimics the voice of the parent ego state but it is coming from the narcissistic and manipulative child ego state (not reserved for children…of course.. in fact I think a lot of parents who scold and punish inappropriately their kids from this ego state… make those damn “you are not enough to you are disgusting” tapes that haunt people the balance of their lives.
I look at Bush and McCain and Cheney and Rumsfeld and such people… and I see the “pig parent” with that know-it-all authoritarian stance… and people seem to lap it up.Looking for a “daddy/parent” and mistake the pig-parent.
A good article:
http://www.informationclearing…..e20158.htm
called “The Hedonists of Power”
nite
i crashed last night and missed this un, damn sorry, please pardon
just wanted to add on record..
“If Bob Dylan is called “the voice of a generation” then perhaps
George Carlin was “the potty-mouth of a generation”
(and for it i did love him so)
over the near 40 years i knew George, finally getting to meet him in ‘03, he began as a very funny comic whom i copied religiously (pardon the pun) on the schoolgrounds of my youth. ultimately he became the best sociology/critical thinking teacher i ever had (only James Burke comes close)
i tried to sum it up in a quote yesterday. “In an age of a Hurricane of Information, “stating the obvious” becomes a ‘life-preserver’(jacket), and George dispensed many a jacket in his lifetime, including one to me, for which i will be forever grateful”
thank you George.
(ps. mr carlin, you SOB, ya couldn’t hold on for 211 more days?)
‘cuz come 20Jan2009 i will be thinking about you, and how in your not-so-small way, made the day possible. tyvm.
