I attribute my response to having watched so many great movies as a child that focused on injustice and the people who fought against it (Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Ox-bow incident, Inherit the Wind, Gentleman’s Agreement, etc.). They truly left a permanent mark on my psyche that if you fight hard enough you can overcome these people. I still believe that’s true even if you have to fight them over and over and over again.

I hope Sen. Obama is more committed to regulatory transparency and citizen participation than he is to defending limited and rational amendments to FISA and the discovery of past governmental lawbreaking.
